But honestly. The whole "mystery" part of Twilight is kind of a joke.
Not to say it isn't a good book (it's my favorite in the series) but really.
"Gee, I wonder what Edward is, he's much too perfect to be human, Bella thinks he might be a superhero...."
OH, I KNOW! I'll read the back of the cover which helpfully tells me he's a vampire!
Don't you think the book would have been much better if you DIDN'T know Edward was a vampire?
Thoughts?

i agree she shouldn't have made it so obvious i agree it would have been a lot more interesting but either its a wonderful book i finished like a day ago and am in love with her imagery and how well it is written thru bella's point of view.

I see what you mean, but the book is more about what happens after that mystery, not that particular issue...
Plus, I've never seen a vampire story that did not have a screeching label "VAMPIRE" in it somewhere. It's a vampire story and should probably be in the summary, right?

I thought it was SMeyer's attempt of dramatic irony, but maybe I'm giving her too much credit since she didn't plan out the series.

I think it would have been better knowing that he wasn't a vampire from the very beginning.
