What was that? Miu glanced sideways, thinking the upset flip of her stomach might had been caused by imagination. But the look of turmoil was still there, if only momentarily before it disappeared again. A confused expression crossed her features. Was something wrong? She hoped not.
Before she could mention anything about it, her friend had begun to speak again. If nothing else, Nenda was good at partially convincing her, without mentioning it specifically, that nothing was wrong. "I am lucky," she agreed with a slight nod. Even if her relationship with her parents, sister, and other half-siblings was completely non existent, she would be contented with knowing her half-brother was at her side. "I don't see my parents much, though. Especially my father." She had no real idea of where to find him. Perhaps she could ask her mother to take her to see him sometime.
Stretching to look at her feathers, she giggled very gently. "My parents definitely blessed me by passing them on." She, too, believed her feathers were beautiful. Not in a vain way. Nothing like that. But she enjoyed looking at them and her flared tails just as much as she enjoyed looking at nature. "Thank you. I'm glad you like them, too." Glancing back to her friend's legs, she smiled. "But I am not the only one blessed with colorful differences."
