Where do you get inspiration?
Where do I get inspiration… In life.. In everything I find inspiration in the largest and smallest of things. From a smile of a child to the veins in a leaf. I paint to inspire people, motivate people, move people… Ive painted fingernails to whole Harbour views…follow what symbols and images you relate to or are affected by…I Look forward to hearing where you get inspiration…..

I actually get my inspiration from other peoples' art. And my books. I tend to get a lot of inspiration from stories I read. Particular scenes or just the feelings of a particular scene that just sparks an idea for a picture. That kinda thing. But I think I first started drawing because my mom and my uncle were really good at drawing and I was fascinated with it.

Good thread idea. 3nodding Where do I get inspiration... Hmm. Well, it depends, really. Sometimes it's others' artwork, sometimes it's my reference books that I got to help me master anthro. The rest of the time, it's random and just pops into my brain. I was one of those kids who just picked up drawing and whoosh! Off I went; that's how I started.

I get my inspiration from the people around me (hahah, cliche, I know)... but it's like when a friend of mine says something I think was intersting or endearing, I think "Hey, that would make a good art," and then I feel the desire to draw something out XD

My inspiration? Aww.. Hmm. Since I normally draw people, what will inspire me is usually something related to something I'm writing or drew recently... see, if I was just working on a thriller-type story I'd feel the urge to draw some hideous monster from a nightmare...
But, certain things that people say tend to stick in my head, and fester. I need to do something with it, even if it's just the most random thing. Someone mentioned Alice in Wonderland in passing, and I was just struck by inspiration. I needed to write something, and I came up with an introduction.
Follow me, my friend, and escape down the rabbit hole. Watch the binding confines of reality slip away before your very eyes! Explore worlds that you never knew existed, uncover secrets you never knew you had, all within your own mind... But I must caution you- do not entwine yourself too deeply, lest you become a fly in this web of beautiful lies...
Now, that wasn't nessescarily visual art... but, you asked what inspired me, and, well, peoples' words inspire me, not just to draw, but to write.

Utter and complete boredom OR sheer hatred for something or someone OR procrastination in my homework. Im not a good student but i always produce my finest work when im not suppose to be doing drawings and such. It just seems easier for me to get my creative juices flowing under pressure.

I get my inspiration from my books. My books are my life, they show me happines and sadness, love and hate, good and evil. The heroes of these stories inspire me to do everything from write my own story to trying to make a difference in the world I live in. Everything I draw has a close base in some book or manga. That's what inspires me. ^^
Or to quote the person above me " i always produce my finest work when im not suppose to be doing drawings and such." sweatdrop

My inspiration? I'm not sure if I can say exactly what it is that gets me to pick up a pencil and start. I draw so much that it's basically second nature. But probably everything for me. Sometimes it's a conversation. Other times, it's something I saw. Some of my favorite ideas though are just that: ideas. Some abstract concept or feeling that I want to share.
