"You had a brother?" Her tone was not prying or pushy for info, just stating a fact that was given to her. "How lucky you are. I only had my parents." Here she sucked in a deep breath. Remembering them hurt but she wanted not to forget them either. "I like to think the best of them lives in me and all they taught me. They are alive in my dreams and in my heart. I will see them again someday."

Dewpaw quickly searched for another stick, suddenly feeling a need to have something in her hands. She grabbed the nearest stick and again hipped it through the air. "His name is... was Leaffoot. He's probably running with other past wolves and wolfriders, hunting some ravvit or other through the stars." She poked the stick at one bush after anotehr as she walked, "I followed him everywhere. I wanted to tree-shape like him. He would always tell me, 'One day, you'll shape tall oaks and birch enough to rival the mountains.' But I never got anything." She glanced at Dancer, "I was hoping to have that part of him. Instead, I just have this scarf. It was his..." She suddenly stopped talking, realizing that she had said so much. 'I guess I needed to talk' she thought.

Dancer smiled warmly and placed an arm around Dew's shoulder. "It's ok. It hurts to miss the ones we love butI feel we should celabrate the time we were blessed to have them and not mourn the moment we lost them." She took a deep breath then looked up t the sky as it peeked through trees here and there. "What an amazing gift to shape the plants and stuff. I bet it was wonderful to watch."

Dewpaw giggled, "Yeah, it was fun to watch. But he could barely control it. He usually got stuck in a bunch of vines and I had to help get him out. Sometimes I think he did it to make me laugh." She leaned into Dancer, as she had done before, "What do you miss the most?"

Dancer chuckled at the thought Dew's words placed in her head. She closed her eyes for just a moment then slowly opened them again. "I think I miss the look my Father got on his face when he said, "come with me." It always ment he was taking me someplace my Mother wouldn't like me being." Then she laughed, "Or the look on my Mothers face when I brought something alive home. She hated that."

"My parents used to scold me for running off on my own..." Dewpaw smiled at the memory of being yelled at for visiting a creek too close to teh edge of their hunting grounds. But then memories of teh cataclysm came up unbidden. She had run off again, hoped on Morningtail to do some exploring. That was why she wasn't with her brother and parents that day.

Dancer gave Dew Paw a tight hug and looked at her with kind and caring eyes. "I was away also. Out playing with Fire Bright and such foolishness. If I had been with my parents. If you had been with your parents we wouldn't have the joy of knowing eachother at this moment now would we and I'm glad I know you little cub." She messed Dew's hair playfuly. "Now you are the baby of the group and not me anymore." She laughed and hopped on her cat. "Beat you back to the cove cub!" and off she darted.

"I never said I regreted it..."Dewpaw muttered as Dancer ran off. "Hey, unfair. I've been walking for days." She yelled, darting after Dancer. *Why am I the baby, cub, hatchling, whatever?* she sent, her tone playfull.
