...I think Kaya was her mother's name. But I don't know if that was originally going to be Katara's name or not...

And Katara's anger was really out of place, she wasn't that angry the episodes before that. If she were I doubt she'd have let Zuko and Aang go off on there own. You may call it character development but I don't see how that applies. It was out of character for Katara to be that angry and that unforgiving. When she met up with Jet again yes, Katara was ready to hurt him. But then they trusted him and he really did want to help. It's unfortunate he was brainwashed but that was beyond his control and she forgave him. And yes, Katara was the first to trust Zuko and he did betray her, but he's since proven that he's not evil anymore. I don't understand how Katara projecting her anger over loosing her mother onto Zuko really works that way. But then I suppose that's because I blamed the hospital for my Dad dying but I still use that hospital. I didn't hold the anger my whole life and eventually got over it. But mostly I don't see how that could be character development when Katara spent most, maybe even all, of the episode out of character. It's like she was someone else for that episode and that someone else got all of the character development. I hope now that that whole debacle of just wanting to show off blood bending it over that we can have Katara back.

1--- Yes, Kya was supposed to be Katara's name.

2--- She did something very similar in the past. Her anger toward her father was incredibly bitter, I think more so than to Zuko because he is her loving father even though she wasn't as obvious about it. She has a lot of emotion bottled up that we can't see all of the time. On top of that, her mother died because of her. Her mother's death is on her shoulders. I would be suprised if that DIDN'T bother her as much as it did. Yes, it doesn't seem like her character, but given the circumstances and her past bouts of emotion, it seems perfectly within reason for her to react so strongly.
