To these posts, for the most part I say tl;dr.

But a few points:

I'm currently in an environmental studies class. We are looking at the latest scientific research and conclusions from a variety of fields, put out by a variety of international organizations that are interested in global climate change. All of these agree that human production of greenhouse gases IS affecting global temperatures. (Check out the IPCC if you don't believe me: www.ipcc.ch. They review and summarize all the literature on climate change -- they are the major international committe, and I will believe them over anyone else. Yes, there is dissent; there always will be. I will believe you when you cite your sources.)

Further:

One or two years of severe winters ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT disprove global warming. A few years do not make an overall climate trend.

Yes, polar bears can swim. But they're built to wait for prey while they sit on floating ice. They expend too much energy to hunt well if there's no ice to sit on, and then they don't have the energy to, you know, reproduce.

The temperature rose AFTER the CO2 rose, according to the major trend, not little fluctuations (order of years, instead of tens or hundreds or thousands).

I think you're all being rather silly. Please see some real scientific data, get your hands dirty in a couple of papers. I promise you it's worth it.
