Fortenra Askasa It is black though. It looks brown when lighting is different. Black hair looks black even under lighting. Some shades of brown may look black to some but are still brown because when there is light it looks dark brown...which is obviously a shade of brown even if it looks black. D< (Totally not biased because that's what I deal with, with my hair IRL)So I'm on the side of Haruhi having really dark brown hair.

My God, this is ******** lame. It's like arguing that Yuki's hair color is gray, when it's really a shade of purple.

Okay... y'know, lets bring this to a philosophical discussion...
So, we all know that each "color" perceived corresponds to either a specific wavelength or combination of wavelengths of em radiation. However, how do we know that each of us perceives that particular bit of radiation the same way?
I mean, who's to say the 635nm wavelength appears the same to all people? Or, for that matter, a combination of different wavelengths brings in an even more variety of potential perceived differences. I mean, what I see as red, could be what you perceive blue to be, only to be hampered with preexisting definitions of color...
Thus, I would like to offer the solution...
Haruhi's hair is BOTH brown and black! Just like light is both a wave and a particle, it has characteristics of both, could be called one or the either, but encompasses the whole of the two.
Have I confused you enough now? Good.
tl;dr Everyone's right... or wrong for that matter... ^_^
