It took him a moment to get back to reality. To understand what she was saying. To get it registered into his head, and to find words to answer her. It was harder for him thank normal, but his mouth slowly began to operate. "Nn...Nno..." The big male looked over his shoulder to her, a deep growl resonating within his chest. "Can't. Danger. Lurkers. Beings. Can't rest. Must live. Must kill. Must survive." He continued to ramble, staring at her, his eyes wide and slightly twinged with an insanity known only to him.

Hmm... That sounded like a pretty firm 'no'... To live in such a state of paranoia all the time had to be exhausting... She wondered where he found the will to fight to survive every moment.... Didn't he ever get tired? Did he ever sleep? "One doesn't always have to fight." She offered with a glance toward him. "We're interacting like completely rational beings... And you haven't attacked or killed me... Yet you live..."

He stopped breathing for a moment as if taking in her words. She was right in a way. He didn't have to be like this. But it was strange to him...and hard to turn off some instinct that kept you alive for most of your years.
But he didn't attack her. And he still lived. It was true. So could he really turn it off? He almost forgot to start breathing again as he watched her, his eyes taking in her frame before returning to her gaze. "Y-Yes...Yes we..are. Not kill. Never kill Dakisria. No." He shook his head a little trying to understand what she meant as well.

"Friends..." She offered softly, keeping her voice pitched low and sweet. "We haven't hurt each other, and you shared your kill with me... We're friends, Ryder.. I won't hurt you... You won't hurt me..." She smiled.

"F-Friends?" Ryder tilted his head a little, tail flicking. "Allies...same thing...right?" The huge male stood, lowering his head to her in a bow. "Will protect and serve Dakisria..." For the first time, Ryder stared into the female's eyes, and gave his version of a crooked smile, his teeth slightly visible showing blood stained deep into the enamel. The feral in his eyes were toned down to a low as he became relaxed with his dark female...possibly as dark as him.

"Yes friends..." She considered him with a smile. "Better than Allies..." She watched him with a fluttering in her chest that might have been her heart, could it slow down for a moment. "I would welcome your protection, Ryder... And your company."

Ryder stared over to her as she accepted his offering. With a chuff, he nodded before closing his eyes. Rest came heavily as he seemed to let his head fall, his body sagged against the ground. He slept soundly, and even looked dead, his rib cage not even moving. Every now and then, however, his ear would flick and his maw would twitch as if he was in a dream...like he was fighting all over again in the cages where he grew up. He was fighting for not only dominance, but for a prize: Dakisria.

After some time, Dakisria allowed herself to relax beside the male, resting her head on his hindquarters. She would not sleep, but perhaps dose now and then.. Enough to simply rest, but not to put them in any danger of attack. Should someone come wandering too close, she had a feeling both of them would react to the threat. Ryder, to protect her... And her, to protect Ryder.
