PossessedByDevil Punk Cesia i'm currently an alto in my choir but i can sing higher then all of the sopranoes...they suck so badly cry give me headaches too>< damn sopranoes...hateful...i've got a really wide range now too heart Don't be mad. You can sing higher than them, sure, but being an alto will help your ear grow stronger. True, true. Maybe you're jealous of the sopranos? Nah, I'm joking. Singing as an alto will help you more than anything, even if you have a wide range, because sopranos mainly take the melody, and you don't learn much from that. I'm a mezzo/lyrical soprano, but I stuck myself in the alto section for our school's upcoming musical because it's a good experience (and I started out as an alto before my voice finished developing, so it's not like it hurts.) Hang in there!

Something that helps you sing better is called the "Hissing Cycle".
Step One:
Breathe in as much air as you can, until your diaphragm and lungs feel full to the brim. Hold in all that air.
Step Two:
Breath out in a hissing manner, until you've emptied yourself of all air. Repeat for five cycles.
And you need to learn to open your throat, especially if you're a soprano. I'm a low soprano as of now, but I am finding myself able to sing higher notes.

I don't know my exact range, but the highest I've gone without straining my voice is a B flat...so yeah!
Oh dude who like started this post, you can probably sing any part you like with that kinda of range!
