It was awesome... A great story to retell to the fish who come in every year

We all got out instruments and went out to the parking lot. It was my sophomore year, and I was exited, because I was auctley going to match, and I wasent a fish. I had a clue about what I was doing 3nodding

Me, my buddy tim, and my friend Chris met up and walked over to the parking lot, tim and I with sousaphones on our backs.

when we got to the parking lot Chris, Tim, and I looked at the horizen... A storm was coming.

Instinctively Tim and I took our tubas off, and got the freshmen to do the same, because we saw lighting.

Tuba+ lighting= death.

death= bad.

Anyways, After waiting for our pt trainer to come out, Our band director drives by with a megaphone out of his window yelling "get to the band hall!"

I could not help but laugh because It reminded me of The terminator...

"GET TO THE CHOPPER!!"

So the entire band goes back inside and relocates in the gym, when the power promptly went out.

The rest of the day we were stuck in side doing pt (phicial training) with the drum line teacher.... My legs still hurt thinking about it.

I remember the best thing that came out of it though...

My shoulder was good for another day! whee

those who play the sousaphone know what I mean. wink

>Sigh< I don't actually have a first day of band camp to tell about as I've not been before (AHHH!) I'm currently being a terrified junior going to join marching band for the first time. I'm really excited to get involved, though still pretty crazy super nervous. But I love hearing other people's stories. smile

We now have a "freshman marching clinic" thats required, so by the first day in june, we know most of there names, but its, boring, we use the Blue Devils warm ups, but thank god shortened, and he drills us on them for over half the 3 hours, then we march the block, but once again so slow... Band camp we go right out side and learn drill for 4 hours with two brakes.
