After much walking, Daisuke and Night Shadow arrived into what seemed to be a rally of wooden warships at the far end of the port. "Wait here." The leader of the group said as he went into the largest of the warships.
"Let me do the talking." Night Shadow said to Daisuke.

The man came out about five minutes later. "Come with me." He said.
Night Shadow followed, not knowing what to expect.

Daisuke followed silently without a concealed weapon but he did have experience with hand to hand combat.

Euphrates signaled Rodir to stay low and hidden. She pointed ahead, "They're somewhere over there." There were many wooden warships lined up at the port. "That doesn't look good. Any ideas?"

Rodir watched as Night Shadow boarded the largest boat."Well, I could destroy the whole fleet with magic, but that'd kill Night Shadow too. Let's wait awhile and see where this goes before interfering."

Euphrates narrowed her eyes and studdied Rodir closely. "Why is it important for you to keep Night Shadow alive? What is it that you want from him?"
Euphrates turned back to the line of ships. Perhaps Night Shadow knew more than she thought about the two swords.

Rodir stared at Night Shadow. Rodir knew Night Shadow had something. It was almost a tangible presence around him, yet so far away from Rodir's reach mentally and physically. He turned to Euphrates. "What Night Shadow has isn't so much an object. I don't know what to call it. A skill? An answer to an unasked question? For all I know it could be something only he can do. All I know is that he knows about the swords."
The man holding Night Shadow started to move farther and farther away. "If we are to act I believe we should act now." Then it caught Rodir's eye. The man holding Night Shadow captive might very well have something as much to do with the sword as Night Shadow or himself. "We should hurry."
