((Just be careful about swimming with fish, Nate, otherwise you'll end up eating fish for weeks... ;>> Fishies don't like large temperature changes.))
Luna hoped that Nate felt better about his powers after that. He seemed to be more thoughtful for sure. She had to clarify on one point, though. "But when you swim, you have water all around you - not little drops that you turn to steam as soon as they reach you."
She squinted her eyes at him as she thought about what she had heard from her sister and now what she heard about Nate's ability. "Say, have you met my sister? She's kind of hard to forget, having green skin and all. And you do look kinda like someone my sister described meeting at the park before. Have similar abilities too."

"That's true..." But somehow Nate still didn't think swimming would work out very well for him. But he was torn out of his thoughts by what Luna said next. "Green skin? I met someone with green skin at the park... it was a long time ago..." He frowned for a moment as he tried to think back to then. It'd been only shortly after he'd started burning things. And he'd thought she was his mommy... since she felt familiar and nice. Just like this girl felt...

Luna briefly rested her head on one shoulder when Nate pretty much confirmed what she thought. "Well, I don't know too many people with green skin - actually, my sister is the only one I do know - so my sister must have been the one you met. So what did happen when you two met? She seemed so sorry whenever she talked about that - which wasn't much." She was very much curious about what happened. It wasn't often her sister came back sheepish from a meeting with someone.

"Must've been your sister then..." Nate blinked as she wondered what had happened. "Uh... well..." He pulled up the memories from that meeting. It'd been some time ago... "It was right after my powers started... and I made her really hot and she didn't like it. She kept splashing herself with water... said it was something about being a plant..." He sighed. No one was comfortable around him...

Luna matched things together in her mind. "... Yeah. Had to be you then. Don't worry about it - she hates being in water too. Something about drowning from soaking up too much with her roots." She shook her head sadly. "At least neither of us has to worry about getting outside a narrow tempature range or about being in water." She tilted her head to one side, and amended, "Well, I don't. You've yet to test that theory out from the sounds of it." She turned to look at the store front again. "So why are you standing out here anyways?"

Nate blushed a bit at Luna's question. "Well... uh... I was debating going in..." Yeah, big teenage boy standing outside of a toy store. Not exactly macho, now was it? Not that Nate really cared about that...
"What about you?" After all, she was standing out here, too...

Luna snorted with amusement. "I was in the middle of window shopping - I actually hadn't made up my mind on what I wanted yet." She tilted her head to one side as she studied him better. "Did you want me to go in either for you or with you?" She'd have to know what he wanted if she went in for him, but if she went in with him, he might be able to get away with the excuse of "I'm with her" as a reason to be in there.

Nate glanced at the girl for a moment, then shrugged. "Sure... If you wanna go in, that is..." He didn't want to make her. "We can both go."

Did she actually want to go in or was that just to make him feel better? Either way, he headed in. Once inside, it was like a kid loose in a candy store. He was happily gazing about, unsure where to start looking first!

Luna followed Nate in, looking around her at all the different stuff for sale. There was some things she might admit privately to herself that were neat, but nothing she was willing to point out. She simply stuck as close to Nate as the heat allowed.
