A flash of a cornflower blue collar shined in the darkness of a empty alley way. Laid many boxes and trash cans, a small gray feline sat on top of a mountain of boxes. Licking one of her paws, one eye closed while the other was glancing around the surrounding area. Nobody was nearby. Knowing that nobody in the right mind would come in such a dark alleyway. Cob webs here everywhere and it was covered with rats. Which is where she practice to get her food if her owner doesn't feed her what she wants on that day. Feeling the rays of the sun on her back, she jumped down from the boxes and looked around the sidewalk. Covered with either humans or dogs, she stayed in her spot like she was a statue, waiting for something to happen.

El walked past the alley, not paying any attention to where he was going. He was re-reading the Amber Spyglass, one of his favorite books, so he didn't even care. He was too wrapped up in the tale of Lyra, Pantalaimon, and Will. Out of the corner of his eye, he was a bright blue flash of color. Looking up, he caught sight of Shinsei. "Erm...hi?"

Shinsei stared at the Free collard human before her. Tilting her head and began to speak, " Hello.." She said quietly while looking at his book. "What are you reading?" She asked as she tries to get closer to see what it is, instead, she falls on her face. Trying to get up, she shook her head and rubbed it, climbing back on the post she was on, she continued her stare at the male. Not only this was the second time seeing him. However the first time speaking. She continued to sit on the post like a statue until something knocks her down.

"The Amber Spyglass. It's a very good book, but right now I'm re-reading it." El said, slightly smiling. "Hey, you're the cat in the bushes from before!" he said, slipping a dusky green satin ribbon inbetween the pages of his book. He closed is and stashed the lovingly-worn copy in one of the larger pockets of his jacket.

Shinsei looked at him like he was crazy. "Oh.. Well It sounds good, I guess." She mumbled and looked into this eyes. 'Oh yeah. I remember you, your that guy that was reading that same book." She added with her mumbling. She felt nervous, not just because his a guy but because he is a Free Collard Noob. Tugging on her collar a bit. She jumped on a higher post and jumped on El's head. "So um.. My name is Shinsei. Do you have a name?" She asked as she took his eyeglasses and put them on her face.

"H-hey! I need those!" El said as Shinsei removed his glasses. He walked a step forward and slammed face first into the pole. "Ow.." he mumbled, rubbing his face where he had come into contact with the pole. "Well, Shinsei, I'm Elesthoriel. But just call me El." He looked up at the spot where he thought Shinsei was.

Shinsei looked around with the glasses on her face, feeling something shaking under her when El hit his head. "Are these reading glasses or do you have to wear them all the time?" She asked while giving them back to him. "And its nice to meet you El. You can call me Shin for short, but rarely others call me that for some reason." She said, still on top of El's head. "So high..." She mumbled softly to herself.

"Thanks." El felt Shinsei leap onto his head, and he looked up at her. "They're necessary, otherwise I'm practically blind." He heard her say something about how high up she was. "Yeah, I'm kinda tall." He adjusted his jacket and swished his tail a bit, the marbled fur glinting a bit in the sunlight. "So..."

Shinsei looked down at the male and smiled. "So you're blind? I'm sorry to hear that.." She said as she curled her tail around her body and looked around the surrounding area, like something is going to attack both of them. "I'm sorry if I'm unsociable. I tend not to talk a lot for many reasons.. One is because I... Usually can't figure out how to end my sentences well..." She said softly while looking ahead.

"Not blind, just very nearly without my glasses." El shrugged. "I'm the same way, though I just get really awkward around people." He stuck his hands in his pockets and shuffled a foot through the gritty dirt. "So, Shinsei, what do we do now?" he asked, rubbing the edge of his collar scar. It itched slightly, and his glasses flashed in the light.
