XD I love that comm.
Ahem. For more serious inspiration, I would suggest Sex in History by Reay Tannahill.
There's also a book called History Uncovered that's supposed to be good, but I haven't happened across that yet. I don't really want to buy it unless I KNOW it's good.

Oooooh... that was painful to read! gonk
It's sad when poets try their hands on erotica.

Erotica is 25% poetry as it is- why would you write a poem going into detail re: a sexual encounter? I'd almost think you would have no choice but to lapse into implication or things would get weird in a bad way.

Anne Rice wrote some good erotica... It's under the pen name A. N. Roquelaure.

Oh man, please tell me you read The Erotic Trilogies of Sleeping Beauty. Those three books are my favorite in the Erotica Genre. So good.

I think I've read the Sleeping Beauty one. We managed to get onto it on the school website and all six of us were reading it.
Our IT teacher came up behind us....and someone told him what we were reading. It was hilarious and embarrassing. But the story was rather interesting. I swear it was Anne Rice...

The Sleeping Beauty trilogy is great. I read it loads of times when I was in high school.

*pokes the dead thread back to life*
Hello? Anybody here?
Can't say I've read a lot of erotica, unless bad slash fanfictions count, lol. I have read most of Laurell K. Hamilton's books, though she lost me when they became too smutty with not enough plot.
I write M/M erotic fantasy--typically Master/slave, light BDSM, faeries and mages and vampires (Oh, my!).

I like slash erotica too Edward, but that should be obvious with what I write. I find the heterosexual erotica can sometimes be a bit over the top with, "she ran her hand down his love pole". Sorry...doesn't do it for me.
I do like the whole Master/Slave genre too, I find it interesting.
