All of you who refer to novels outside of the movies fail to mention the fact that a novel is depicted by the author... in other words. Mary Sued. I could write a novel and create the most powerful Jedi in the entire Star Wars Universe... any novel outside the movies should not be used as the movies came before the novels.
So Mr. Lucas would let someone mangle his world?
confused I can kinda get where you're coming from on that, but by that logic we shouldn't even consider the prequel movies since the orignal movies came out before those. And there were a number of books that came before the prequels. Last I checked, the books have to get past George Lucas before they're published, and there have been a signifigant number vetoed for various reasons, so it's not like he glances at the book and goes "Pass!" he actually considers it.
