“Ahh, yeah...I should go see Lance sometime and I ’aven’t seen Nalira in ... Ages it seems.” He gave a chuckle as they neared the ice cream parlor. “Nothin’ to be nervous for...? What makes ye nervous about seein’ others? Though I agree it does feel odd bein’ older at first, til ye get used to it...”

He listened to her as he opened the door into the parlor for her to enter chuckling a bit, “Well today it is you and I and I’m payin’ so ye wanna go w’me?” It was probably the closest thing to a date Armel asked any girl on and to his mind it was just taking a friend out to a movie.

"I bet Lance would be glad to see you, I don't get to see him much. I'm not even sure where Nalira is. She told me how I could send her messages but not where she's living." Chailyn shrugged, "I'm sure you're right, Armel. Now if only there was a Tales phone book!" she joked- though after a moment she thought it would be a good idea. It make it much easier to get in touch with her friends.

Chailyn smiled as she went inside the parlor, turning to answer his question. "I'd love to." Like Armel, she thought of only going as friends. Her mind hadn't gotten into the idea of dates or boyfriends.

“Aye that would be a splendid thing. Easier to see who is around and who isn’t that way I s’pose.” He said agreeing to her idea of there being a phonebook for all their information to be left in as he followed her in closing the door behind him.

“Good, good! Nothin’ like goin’ to a movie with a friend.” He said as he headed toward the counter his head tilted a bit upward to read the menu of available ice cream and cool treats. Today was shaping out to be a rather good day, all things considered.

"Maybe we can suggest the idea to Linny, he'd be able to get information from his mom about all of us," Chailyn added to the thought. She didn't know Huni very well but she figured her mother might. She did know Linny though and was sure he'd like to help as he had always been nice.

Her mind was musing as she looked at the different ice cream flavors, "I think I'll have a small Neapolitan in a cup." She smiled looking at Armel. Today was turning into a rather nice one- maybe Armel was right and going to see the other Tales wouldn't be as bad as she thought.

“Mebbe he can help,” Armel agreed though he had never personally met the one called 'Linny' but he had heard the name from time to time or at least it sounded familiar enough as if he should have heard it. He stared at the menu for a moment or two before ordering a large bowl of ice cream with various flavors within it and then paid for both of the orders.

Armel, apparently, was a walking and talking stomach.

“What movie y’wanna go see?” He asked after they got their orders and went to sit at a table near by.

Chailyn mused a little longer on the Tale Directory idea, deciding she'd either call Linny or ask her mother to call Huni and set up a 'playdate'. Besides she hadn't seen either for awhile and it'd be nice to see two familiar faces- not to mention she figured her mother might enjoy hanging out with another author. Come to think of it her mother didn't seem to ever get out save once or twice. A rather mischievious voice proded this thought- perhaps she could thumb through her mother's address book and invite one of her mother's friends to take her mother out. Shaking her head, she returned her attention to Armel.

She followed him to the table, sitting down beside him and stared at him a bit blankly. "Er- I don't know what movies are playing. I'm afraid I've been too out of it to pick up a newspaper or pay attention to commercials," she admitted with a blush. Gods, he must think she lived in a cave! Then again being asleep for so long was rather like living in a cave, though worse. "Can you tell me about the movies playing? And which ones you want to see?"

Armel paused a moment at her question. He, too, had been asleep for quite a while but it didn’t quite affect in in the manner it seemed to affect Chai. Quietly he stretched out his legs and leaned back in his seat as he idly ate his treat and wandered off into the realms of his thoughts and options. “We can go see a comedy or an action movie maybe. I think there are a couple of those playing. I hear there might be a matinee of short cartoons if we get there within the next hour or so.” He didn’t seem to believe in an age limit for cartoons.

The ice cream seemed to hit the spot quite nicely, he was doubly glad to be sharing it with someone he barely had a chance to spend time with until now.

Skimming her spoon over the ice cream making sure to pick up a little of each flavor, she thought about the types of movies Armel had suggested.

Action was always good- you never had to wonder or think about the plot, you could just watch people run around and trying to get out of trouble only to get in more trouble later. That was definitely the right choice for not thinking...usually. Comedy was also good if one didn't want to think but the few movies she'd seen, comedy could be very hit or miss. Still, mindless laughing didn't sound bad at the moment. Cartoons though, those were timeless and wonderful. You could be ancient and still like cartoons.

"Cartoons or comedy sound nice. I'd love to see cartoons though!" she grinned, eyes sparkling at the thought of seeing something familiar. True maybe she hadn't ever seen the specific cartoons they were showing but cartoons were cartoons, and always a little familiar.

The ram-horned boy chuckled as he began to finish up his cold treat and then waited for Chai to do the same, "Then we well go see some cartoons." He said with a small nod, "Then af'er that I'll walk home wi' ye." Armel could fend for himself and besides walking home always seemed lonely, even for him.

"That sounds nice," Chailyn said aloud. She thought briefly about taking out her cellphone and calling her mother but decided not to. She wouldn't be gone too much longer. She shoveled the last bit of ice cream into her mouth, letting the spoon fall into the cup. "I'm done," she announced with a nod of her head.

He nodded and shifted to stand up once more and dusted off his hands, "Aye, well let’s go before the cartoons end, aye?" Armel grinned as he moved over to her and in a gentlemanly gesture offered Chai a crooked elbow to hold on to.

"Had fun today, Chai, despite how we met up earlier," he chuckled as he waited for her to respond to his gesture, "glad I got t'see ye again an' spend a bit o' time wi' ye."

Standing up, she took his elbow with a smile. She gave a soft giggle, "I had fun too. Hopefully next time we meet, I won't have to dig you out of the sand first," she teased lightly. "I'm glad I got to see you, too. We'll have to hang out again sometime."

(I think you can post a reply and then we'll call it finished, if that's ok Pales. I think we've run out of steam.)
