"Back in my day, when we all landed in the same place, people got so they were camping out for landings. I don't know if some of them couldn't have kids, or just liked the idea of raising an alien, but none of us were left without homes." Whether or not those homes were good ones was another topic that Archie really knew nothing about. His Gaian parents had been excellent people.
"When I got old enough to move out, I got some help from other crim... aliens I had met and built a house in the lot where the pods landed. I gave the kids out for a while too. Now they land all over. I can't keep track of them all." A white lie. With his most recent regrowth, Archie could now track new landings with the help of a very annoying alert system in his head. Sometimes he managed to ignore it.

He was quite serious. Amanae hadn't expected him to keep going with the whole alien thing, but he was, indeed, VERY serious. It was scary.
Scary enough, in fact, to prompt Amanae to ask him sweetly, "Oh. Well, you know I'd be happy to taken in a homeless little one,"
No she wouldn't. Oh no. Not since the first thing that had decided to wander (unwelcome, mind you) into her life. The glowing, sneaking midnight ghost-boy. So why had she told him she was willing? Of course, she wasn't expecting anything to come of it, and certainly not expecting to ever EVER see him again.
Ever.
Actually, she made a point to never see him again.

"Oh...kay," Archie said, trying to be equally polite right back. It wasn't as if he had anything to say about it really. If a pod landed somewhere in her vicinity, this woman could either run away or stay and see what came out. If he was otherwise occupied, Archie might have nothing to do with the process at all.
"That's very kind of you!" Franny said with a more genuine smile. "My first guardian was a human and she was nice. She couldn't handle my sister though. Madi's an angry girl."

Amanae forced a great, big, cheesey grin and nodded to Francine. "Oh, you're an alien too then?" She said through her grin. This was all becoming a little too much for her.
"I'll be certain to...look out for...one of you. Crashing. Or whatever it is that happens." Inwardly, she scoffed. The chances of that were next to nothing, so in saying that, she could feel rather comfortable that she'd be safe and alien-free for the rest of her days.

Franny nodded. "I got a nice body though, didn't I?" she enthused. She held out an arm in order to examine her own skin.
"Um... Franny?" An elderly shoe-shopper had turned at the girl's declaration, her eyes widening as she picked up the orthopedic clog she had been trying on and scuffled away. "I think we should be going." People sure were sheltered around here. "Yeah," Archie continued, speaking to Amanae again, "If you really think you can help one of us out, I'm sure you'll do just fine."

Amanae stiffled a half shocked laugh and nodded. "Well, I don't know. I don't have anything to judge by except..." He eyes wandered over to Archie's tail, then snapped back to Francine. "But assuming you could have been ANYTHING, yes." She glanced at Archie and nodded.
"If you think so," She mumbled under her breath.

Archie nodded, placing his hands on Francine's shoulders and turning her toward the front door once more. "I guess I'll be seeing you again if you do. Find one of us, that is." He might have offered her the name of the ICRS headquarters or his own phone number for further questions, but he really just wanted to get the hell out of this store. "It was nice meeting you."
"Yup!" Franny agreed.
