Guide Characters Blackie Draven Mitsu Vash Neko Count D Yuki
Took Place Main Shop Thread
RP continues through PM after it was ended in the main thread. There will be a clear separation between these two RPs.
Kesmi It had been just about a month since Blackie had last seen Yuki and already she wasn't looking herself. Her belly was already showing a pudginess and she wasn't feeling too good now and then. Peering into the little shop, she looked around wondering of whom else was there, she had come without her keeper, though one other had followed her. Looking back over her shoulder, Blackie knew that the winged one was there, though chose not to acknowledge him. Slipping into the shop, the small bell atop the door ringing to show her entrance. Blackie would hope that the Count would have some answers to what was going on. Even the simple entrance to the shop, her movements of course swift as to not be seen, cause her head to spin. Just about falling backwards, she was only stopped from crashing to the ground by the one that had followed, Draven. She knew that Sadie had sent him to see what was wrong with her, but she didn't seem to have the energy to send him away."You alright there Blackie?" he asked as she pulled away from him and staggered forward a couple of steps. She really hadn't been herself since that he first met her. He had grown concerned when she left the house on her own and Sadie sent him after her. To see what was going on, he would get to the bottom of it all and report back to Sadie when he found out what was up. He always though it strange that Blackie kept herself locked in her room, eating more then her what was in stock. Already she had eaten a couple weeks worth of her stocks. He was really concerned, even if the rest of the house hold wasn't and he assumed that Sadie would be coming later as she was expecting another member to be joining them... Inu-Mitsu Only moments after Blackie and Draven entered the bell to the door gave a soft jingle again as another gained entry into the shop. Mitsu was the first to nervously peek her head in. Her last visit to the shop had left her a little frazzled and while she knew she needed to come visit so the Count could get news of her pets she also feared coming encase He was there. When she saw the only people in the shop were a young girl and a man she slowly made her way in. She was certain she had see the girl before though she looked a little beside herself at the moment. The young man she couldn't place, she wasn't certain if she had met him before but her memory was never all that great. "I can't believe you!" Vash spat out as he entered behind Mitsu though he was looking behind himself furiously. "Not even five feet from the house and you're hitting on women." Though he sounded angry his voice betrayed the slight bit of jealously that he held for the man behind him."What can I say, there's just too much of me to go around," Neko said a little too cockily as he strolled in through the door behind Vash finally letting it close behind himself. "Don't be angry with me because you were just ignored.""I'm not jealous!" Vash protested."I didn't say that," Though Neko smiled broadly as Vash blushed at his mistake."I ...I mean.""Neko....Vash," Mitsu said softly in a pleading voice. Instantly the argument was dropped and the two of them fell silent. Letting out a sigh of relief Mitsu moved further into the room stopping not far from Draven and Blackie looking around for the Count. Neko had decided to accompany her on her trip to the city and Vash had decided to accompany her because he didn't trust Neko around her. "Have you seen the Count?" Mitsu asked the other two in the room softly her crimson eyes still darting around making sure that the man she had seen before truly wasn't there. Kesmi Turning her head, Blackie looked back at those that had come in behind her. Staggering a moment Blackie came to rest again next to Draven whom wrapped an arm around her in support. Spooky blue eyes glanced at the male that had been making his way over toward her. If she hadn't been feeling as bad as she was, she would have said something, but only leaned backwards some and placed herself into a seat. At this angle, one could see the ever growing roundness of her belly.
"no, the count isn't here, or well, he hasn't come out from the back yet." Blackie groaned easing herself down and closed her eyes. "You here to see the old man as well then?" She asked opening an eye and looking over toward Mitsu and her gang.Draven watching Blackie as she eased herself into a chair and looked a little more comfortable. He stepped back and leaned against the wall, his large black wings folding behind his back. With a twitch of his head he knocked his hair off his shoulder. He had eyed Neko before anything was side, but said nothing himself. He was concerned for his own housemate to be worried about anything else. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu moved further into the room as well taking a seat across from Blackie. Her small form was tense as she sat nodding to confirm what Blackie had asked her. "Yes, I try to stop by now and again. But I haven't in a while." Mitsu spoke softly her eyes trained to the floor. The self esteem that she had before seemed to be slowly wearing away as the memories of her old life came flooding back. It hadn't been all at once of course, but over the days and weeks that followed since Neko had arrived Mitsu had been acting very strangely which had Vash concerned. "Not that I don't mind not coming." Neko said as he plopped himself down in a chair not far from Blackie. He turned toward her offering her a small smile as he looked her face over. "Though today doesn't seem like such a bad day to visit." Neko said without much clue to what he meant.Seeing Neko eye Blackie Vash rolled his eyes. At it again, and this was why he didn't trust him. Who knew what he would try with their owner if he had a chance. Having seen Blackie act a little funny Vash voiced his concern once she was situated in her chair. "Are you alright, Miss?" His voice was filled with worry as he looked to her and then the curtain that he expected the count to arrive from.Kesmi Blackie just about jumped when Neko seated himself down in a chair not too far from her own. Shesh, wasn't he just yelled at for coming her way? It seemed that this one didn't know the meaning of now. Turning her head to the side she looked away from Neko and toward Vash as she leaned back in her chair and rested her hands lightly on her stomach. "i'm fine, besides feeling like I'm trying to purge myself of everything within me." She tried to laugh, but stopped as it made her stomach flop uneasily. Again she looked at Neko before back at Vash. "Though, can you get ol' bright eye here something else to look at. It's not like it's HELPING!" she snapped in Neko's direction as if the hiss in her voice would make him go away.Draven looked at Neko as he seemed to want to be close to Blackie. His concern was replaced with a sternness, one that would put anyone in his keeper's house on edge as they never wanted to deal with Draven. Stepping away from his spot on Blackie other side, he stepped around the stand between her and Neko. Keeping an eye on the male, though this wasn't exactly in his job description, but Sadie had wanted him to watch over Blackie and that was what he was doing. "Best look the other way, or you won't have eyes to look at anything with." He said seriously, though he wasn't allowed to have his sword, there were other ways to do things. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu looked at little panicked as Blackie and Draven spoke to Neko though he looked a little less than concerned. Standing from her seat she moved over toward Neko to try and lure him out of his chair to sit elsewhere. "I..I'm so sorry." Mitsu apologized looking to Blackie and then to Draven's tall form. She seemed to visibly cower a bit at his presence but still tugged at Neko's shirt to make him stand up. "I should have been watching him." She said nervously. "Don't get so worked up," Neko said as he complied to Mitsu's tugging and stood from his seat. Running a hand through his spiky black locks his eyes trained on Draven. "And you can keep your threats to yourself, I was only offering a small comment, nothing more." As he stepped away he mumbled something under his breath about not asking her to bed with him but it remained mostly inaudible."Neko," Mitsu looked at him trying to sound scolding but her brow only furrowed as he walked passed her to the other side of the room. With a bit of a sigh she sat back down in her chair trying to think of what to say. "I'm sorry to hear that," Vash said sympathetically. "Maybe the Count will have something to give you when he comes out." Turning to Neko as Blackie mentioned him staring Vash was about to say something but Mitsu seemed to beat him too it. He watched the exchange of words between Neko, Draven, and Mitsu before Neko seemed to stalk to the other side of the room. Well that was rather uncalled for. "Stop being such a jerk." Vash called after him which only earned him a small glare and an inappropriate hand gesture in return.
Fuming Vash tried to compose himself as he turned back to the remaining company watching Mitsu slump back into her seat. She looked like she wanted to say something but the words were eluding her. "SO," Vash started hoping to break the ice. "My name is Vash, this is Mitsu and the grumpy one on the other side of the room is Neko. What might your names be?" He questioned looking to both Blackie and Draven for a response. Kesmi Blackie gave Neko a glare as he was acting like a child who never got a beating in his life from a parent, probably would have done him some good if he had. Shaking her head and rubbing her face with her hands sinking even more into the chair, thinking that maybe the sofa would have been better for her, but she was down and not looking to get up again. "The name's Blackie and the big lug over here is Draven. You most know out keeper, Sadie? She should be along soon, says that there's another member joining out little 'family'. Not that what there is, is enough for her and I..." She groaned as she her to shift as something stirred in her gut. "Have a feeling it will be getting even bigger." She finished finally letting her head lull back and rest against the wall behind her. "Hopefully the count can do something, I don't know what's happening, or if there's a way to stop it..." She sighed."Watch it." Draven hissed at Neko, as his wings spread themselves out a bit before folding again and looking away from him. "Good thing Ziana ain't here or she would have a field day with this one." He muttered to himself before looking down at Mitsu as she apologized. Shrugging lightly he looked back at Vash, though said nothing at the moment, letting Blackie do all the talking. Really he shouldn't have been saying anything, closing his own eyes and resting against the wall, he merely listened. Though his nerves remained on a knifes edge to react when he had to... Inu-Mitsu Neko propped himself up against the far wall away from the others watching them quietly ignoring Draven. His eyes looked a little indifferent as he looked around the room boredly searching for nothing in particular."Y...yes, I know Sadie." Mitsu replied. "I have met her a few times before. And she knows Hitsu really well. I and the others are staying with her....for the moment." Mitsu trailed off trying not to think about the circumstances that had forced them to seek shelter elsewhere, but it had all turned out alright in the end. Hitsu was more than happy to have them and had plenty of rooms to spare in her house. "I wonder what could be keeping the Count. Usually he comes right out to see who is here," Vash said as he drew back the curtain that hid the long corridor to the back. Taking a step inside he explored for a moment maybe hoping to figure out where the Count was located to let him know he had company. A moment of searching upturned nothing. Only other residents of the shop. Deciding to try one last door before heading back Vash knocked and opened it slowly.
"Count?" Peeking through the door Vash blinked as he was staring straight back into the main lobby. Odd......Shrugging a bit he stepped back into the main area and closed the door behind himself. "I must have gotten turned around somehow." Now that wasn't entirely true he knew, this place had more mysteries in it than any other place in the world. The Petshop of Horrors With a third ring of the bell, Count D entered from off the street, carefully balancing bags and boxes in his grasp. "I beg your pardon!" He exclaimed, making a beeline for the large coffee table in order to deposit his load. "I ran just a few minutes late this morning..." D explained, gesturing toward his collection. "The line had gotten so long by the time that I had gotten there." He almost whined. From the smell drifting through the air, there was no doubt that sweets were what he had purchased. Really, though, who would have been surprised? "And then I had to wait for them to prepare the fruit tart!" He shook his head in dispproval, and quickly swept past the visitors and into the back. "Tea! I'll retrieve the tea." He was saying, his voice trailing off as he traveled down the hall.
He was gone only a couple of minutes, swiftly returning with a small tray in tow with all of the teatime necessities. "I'm not quite used to visitors this early, do forgive me." Of course, the shopkeeper had no concern of theft while he had left the shop to gather his treats. After all, the shop took care of itself, in a manner of speaking. "Who would like some?" Once he had set the tray down, he looked to each of them in turn for a response, his smile ever present. That is, until his gaze rested lastly on Blackie. "Oh... Oh my." He murmured, his eyes growing wide. There was no doubt of her condition, but why hadn't she come to see him sooner? Was she... Aware? One hypothesis began to form in his mind, and he just as quickly tried to dismiss it. No. It would have been impossible for anything to come of their relationship. Interspecies breeding he would have heard of... But to this extent? Kesmi Blackie just about jumped when the bell rang a third time over the door, she had expected her keeper to be coming, but it was only the shopkeeper returning with his sweets. Resting her chin on her hand, against the arm of the chair she was seated within, she closed her eyes. The smell that came from the bag made her feel hungry, but at the same time under the weather, sort of speak. Though the sound of tea did perk her up a little, maybe it would calm her stomach... Whatever it was that was happening to her at the very least.
Sitting up some, she had reached out to get a cup of tea, she stopped as Count looked squarely at her with wide eyes. Had he noticed her condition already? He must have, to be watching her in that manner. Leaning back she eyed him in return. "I do have something I have to talk to you about." She offered openly, "Though in a more private room"Draven watched the count as he came in and made a beeline over to the long table before vanishing into the back. Returning with the tea, he had looked to Blackie. Here Draven rolled his eyes a bit before rubbing the bridge of his nose. This was going to be a long day, he just knew it and things were more then likely about to get even worse then they had begun at home.
"Sadie is going to kill one of us at this rate." He muttered to Blackie, whom he got a glare from. Inu-Mitsu Each in Mitsu's group turned to the door as the Count entered the shop. He certainly seemed to have his hands full. "Here I'll help," Vash offered taking up some of the extra boxes that would not be put out right away and left to store them in the back. He knew how the Count liked to stock up on certain sweets when he could. This would also give him a chance to see if any doughnuts had been purchased. While Vash was away Mitsu offered a shy hello and thanked the Count for the tea. She did enjoy his tea, something about the thick syrupy texture appealed to her taste buds. Taking a small sip her once worried and ill at ease facial expression seemed to soften. "It's very good." She smiled softly over her cup taking in the aroma. While everyone else was being social and enjoying their tea Neko merely stood at the other side of the room. Of course if the Count ever looked in his direction he was sure to give him a quick response. "Yo." Hand raised in a subtle two finger wave before he crossed his arms over his chest again. Trying to act aloft? If not he was doing a good job of it. The Petshop of Horrors For several long seconds, the Count did not acknowledge the others present. When Blackie mentioned that she‘d like to speak with him in private, he finally seemed to gather his composure once more. The look of shock was replaced with a soft, calm smile. Though, depending upon what information he gained during this private chat would determine just how long this calm would last. “Yes. Yes, of course.” He replied, gesturing toward the door leading to the back corridor. “I‘ll be there in a moment, you may wait for me in one of the empty rooms.”
Once she had complied with his request, he addressed those that remained. “Just make yourselves at home.” He said, “I shouldn‘t be long.” He smiled lightly to Mitsu, “Have all the tea that you like, I can always make more.” Then he took his leave from them, stepping into the back corridor in search of Blackie. It hadn‘t taken long for him to find the room she had chosen, and he closed the door behind him softly.
Once he had turned to her, he looked a bit troubled. “Now… What would you like to speak with me about?” Of course, he could guess… But, he didn‘t want to do so aloud, just in case that wasn't the issue here. Kesmi Blackie had given a nod as she was addressed to wait in one of the back rooms for him. She had stood with the small assistance from Draven who was insistent on helping her, but she gave him one of those looks and he raised his hand defensively and backed off from her as she somewhat waddled down the back hall and into a room. There she stationed herself in a seat and waited for Count to come in. It wasn’t too much longer when he came into the room and closed the door behind him. Well it was now or never and never was something she couldn’t afford.
“Things have happened and I don’t know what’s really going on.” She started before shaking her head. “I have a feeling that the meetings with Yuki a while ago has landed me… Like this” She sighed trying to think straight, but everything seemed confusing and unexplained to her. “I was hoping that maybe you knew what was going one. I’ve seen humans in this condition, but never thought I would be…” She cut off not wanting to say it.
Looking to the Count in the most pitiful way possible, Blackie leaned back in the seat trying to get comfortable. Which was harder then it seemed it would be. She could only hope that he could help her, if not she didn’t know who else to turn to. Sadie would surely be watching over her like a hawk if she found out and from what was to come, she would find out quite soon enough. “So can you help me?” she asked him finally. “If it is what Sadie says, I don’t know what I should say to Yuki…” Inu-Mitsu Mitsu gave a short nod to the Count as he explained she could have as much tea as she liked. Smiling warmly she watched Blackie take her leave with the Count soon to follow. Curiosity etched across her face as she looked up at Draven, "Is everything all right with her? She didn't seem to be acting well." Placing her tea down on the table in front of her Mitsu folded her hands in her lap still looking at Draven in a curious yet worried manner. It was rare for Mitsu to see anyone act the way Blackie had unless something was wrong. "You shouldn't snoop into other people's business," Neko stated calmly from the other side of the room."Oh uhh.." Mitsu blushed a bit having not realized her question might be personal. "I'm sorry." "Success!" Vash came back into the room at that point, arms loaded to the brim with doughnuts. "The Count does love me!" Stuffing another doughnut into his already full mouth Vash walked over and took a seat next to Mitsu. "Theth ar rewy gud, we shud get sum." Mitsu blinked at Vash for a moment unable to determine what he had said but the sight of him brought a small smile to her face which she quickly brought a hand up to hide. The Petshop of Horrors Two sentences in, and the Count's suspicions were confirmed. At least, it sounded so. He allowed her to finish speaking, before he offered a nod and stood in silent thought for several moments, those mismatched eyes staring at - seemingly through - Blackie thoughtfully. Trying to determine just how such a thing could come to pass, how two species so vastly different could conceive. Everything in typical nature told him that this was preposterous, but who would he be to deny that anything could very well be possible of the creatures that currently or had once resided within these walls? Clearly someone had gotten her into this state, and there was no mistaking said predicament.
Finally, he spoke. "I believe, Blackie, that I know what has caused these changes..." He lifted a fingertip to his chin, before pressing further for details. "Forgive me, but I must ask... Have you shared relations with anyone other than Yuki?" Kesmi Blackie watched the Count as he apparently thought about what she had said. Reclining in the chair she rested against one armrest, waiting for what he had to say. She gave a small smile when he said he believed he knew what was going on with her. But frowned when he asked if she had relations with anyone else besides with anyone else besides Yuki, well of course not. She didn't look at another man like she did Yuki. Shaking her head softly she sighde lightly.
"No, Yuki is the only one." She replied straightening up and moving to stand, though the queasy feeling was making things complicated. "Does this have to do with my relation with Yuki?" she asked finally giving up on moving and rubbed her eyes a little, making the feeling go away. Draven, whom watched the door to the back shook his head lightly before looking down toward Mitsu. The young girl seemed concerned for his housemate, normally anyone would if they saw her in that condition. Glancing toward the others that accompanied her, though raised a brow at the one stuffing his face, Draven looked away.
"I haven't the foggiest idea what's up with her. All I know is, is that she;s eaten through her stores more quickly and been laying about instead of helping our keeper pack so we can move into a larger place.' He answered, dismissing Nako's comment of Mitsu snooping. "The sooner she's back to normal, the better." Draven muttered more to himself then anyone else. The Petshop of Horrors "I see..." He murmured, and there was a few seconds of hesitation before he spoke again. Should he just blurt out the truth here? Well, certainly she'd find out. And soon, from the look of her. Typically, he'd be ecstatic that one of his creatures had found themselves a mate... But this? What were the risks of such a breeding?
This thought was not only limited to the risks of carrying out the pregnancy, but for what would occur if the child did survive. He knew enough of Dynast to know that anything he could get his clutches on to harm Yuki in any means was most welcome. A child, he was certain, would be no different.
However... Depending on how the events played out, everything could come to perfect fruition thanks to this unforeseen dilemma. His view of the perfect fruition? Only he would know, until the proper time came.
"You are pregnant, Blackie." He said softly, though he knew that the words were potentially devastating no matter how soothing the tone. Kesmi Blinking her eyes a couple times, she looked at the count as if he were crazy. "Your serious." She said after a moment, "No, Yuki and I only..." It dawned on her, the night that she had slept with Yuki in his room. Sinking back into the seat even more, hoping that it would just swallow her whole. "So that first night I met Yuki..." She shook her head.
She fell silent again, trying to think, but she was growing hungry again. It seemed that she was eating more and more these days and now she knew why. She was feeding for more then just herself, and why many other things were happening, it was all because she was pregnant. But she couldn't, could she? Surely not, it was impossible. They weren't even then same species, but here it was, it had happened. She was carrying his child, or children, now how was she going to tell him?
"How am I going to tell Yuki?" She wondered while placing her head in her hands, shaking all over she was, but she didn't really want anyone else to see her in this condition, much less Yuki. "Does he even have to know..." The Petshop of Horrors "I am," He replied, "And you are." The Count watched her carefully, unsure on just how this news would effect her. Anger? Fear? When she managed to remain calm, he figured it reasonable to continue with additional details.
"I will arrange for you to give birth here, in the shop. We'll prepare your old room for you." He explained, stepping slowly closer and offering a hand to help her to her feet. "I have never seen a crossbreeding so... Unique. A child of this sort will require special care, I'm certain. At least for the first days and weeks of development, if not longer."
"Yuki will find out sooner or later, will he not?" D asked, looking at her questioningly. "It's been nearly two months since I'd last spoken to him... Do you mean to tell me that he's not yet seen you in this state?" Kesmi Blackie looked at the count again as he mentioned her having the child there in the shop, surely not. Wouldn't there be a better place? Perhaps not, now that she really thought about it, this little shop was the only place she could turn to in this situation, as well she had come here that day. If there had been another place, she would have gone there instead of here, but the shop was the only place she could go and the count was the only one she could turn to.
"Oh happy kill joy," Blackie muttered sarcastically as she reached out to take the count's hand and hoist herself up onto her feet. "I can only hope that the room will be sound proof," She shivered thinking about giving birth, she didn't want to know how much pain she would be in. "I guess Yuki will find out, but I haven't seen him since that day here in the shop. I... I should leave you to your guests, Unless there's something else..." She said turning to leave the room. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu looked from Draven to the door that the Count and Blackie had disappeared behind. "I see," She said quietly and mostly to herself. "Hopefully the Count can help." Staring back at her tea Mitsu took her cup up again to give it another sip. The sugary sweet liquid passed her lips and drifted over her tongue bringing another small smile to her face. It had a warming calm effect on her somehow. To busy with his doughnuts Vash did not comment, though he didn't know a whole lot about what was being talked about. He simply looked from Mitsu to Draven with interest before following Mitsu's gaze to the door. "I'm sure the Count can do something." He said through a mouthful. "Yeah, the Count is just full of surprises," Neko commented though with that tone it was hard to tell if he was being serious or sarcastic. The Petshop of Horrors He allowed her to leave, and followed behind quietly. It wasn't until she'd gotten into the lobby that he called out to stop her. "There is something else, Blackie." He hadn't looked to her as he spoke, instead continuing to the far side of the entry room, coming to an antique desk. He reached for the telephone, and began to dial. "Please, give me just a moment." He knew she would stop, if only in hopes that he had a much easier solution for the situation.
On the contrary, what followed would only make it worse. He anticipated it.
He stood for a minute or two with the receiver to his ear, before it appeared that whoever he'd called picked up on the other end.
"Yes, good morning Miss Hitsuzen." He greeted, "I'm sorry to bother you at such an hour, but- Oh no, no. Nothing for you to worry about." Not yet, at least... "Actually, I was calling to speak with Yuki, if you don't mind."
Another long pause, and then a more serious expression crossed the Count's face. "Yuki," a pause. "You could say that I've had a change of heart, I'd like for you to return to the shop imme-..." He withdrew the receiver from his ear, looking at it in confusion. It sounded as though the one on the other end had dropped the phone. He'd barely had an instant to contemplate this, before Yuki materialized right beside him.
"Well, at least I know you can follow instructions when you choose to..." He murmured, hanging up the phone and turning to face him. Kesmi Having entered the lobby before the count, she hadn't gotten too far before the Count had said something to her. She was going to leave and drag Draven out with her as she knew Sadie would come looking for them sooner or later if she found them not around. Looking back she watched him dial the phone and start stalking to whomever this Hitsuzen was and asked for Yuki. She could feel something growing in the pit of her stomach and it wasn't the child the Count had talked about, it was dread. Pure dread, she didn't know what he was doing calling Yuki, she didn't really want him to see her like.. Well this. But as he materialized beside the Count she backed away and tried to hide herself behind Draven, though he stepped away from her and more toward Mitsu.
"Hi Yuki, how've you be?" she asked a bit shakingly, stepping over toward him. Hoping he wouldn't be horrified by the appearance of her condition. For the most part, she hoped that he would understand... Hitsuzen There was hardly enough time given for the Count to face him before Yuki spoke, "You changed your mind?" He sounded anxious, hopeful that it wasn't some sort of joke. Unfortunately for him, in a means it was just that. He didn't look much better off than his last visit, worse really, the dark circles under his eyes could probably only be rivaled by 2D. The bat, of course, had slept more than he had in the past weeks... Even with insomnia, the sheer amount of medication he kept in his bloodstream left him unconscious for hours at a time.
'Hi Yuki, how've you been?'
His eyes grew wide, and he froze in place. He stared straight in front of him for several seconds, a look on his face as though he was trying to silently question just why this had been done to him. It was like he'd been dragged right into a trap, and the uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach urged him to believe that this wasn't just an attempt for him to have a casual conversation with the young woman he'd failed to contact for nearly two months now.
He still remembered... What he had last said to her.
He grimaced lightly, and that still showed when he slowly turned to face Blackie. He positioned himself a bit awkwardly, it looked as though he was trying to shield his stomach. Really, he expected her to lash out at him, shout at him for seeming to show no interest other than to use her for his own desires and then toss her to the curb. That wasn't it at all, and he mentally tried to work up proper defense. "I-I'm sorry..." He stammered, "I didn't mean what I said..." He trailed off, temporarily distracted by the sudden realization that there were others here. Mitsu, Vash and Neko... Along with another that he had not seen before now. Perhaps the winged man was Blackie's new interest, and she was here to brag or something. A hope that would be in vain.
"What are you...Doing here?" He'd begun again, his attention still on the others. They knew nothing of his relationship with Blackie, of course he'd tried to keep it that way. Even Hitsu had been kept in the dark, which was a miracle in itself since all of the other pets under her care had seen her on the first and only night she'd been in the house... Save from one. The one that not-so-indirectly had inflicted all of this mental discomfort on him from the very night he'd brought Blackie home. But, there was also that other woman in his dreams, whose identity was no longer the mystery that it had been. The Petshop of Horrors The Count had only stood, looking at Yuki expectantly until he had finally turned to address Blackie. He frowned just barely, and in the dim light of the entry room it may very well have gone unnoticed. His tone, however, could only hide so much.
"Your problems have once again found their way to my doorstep, Yuki." He said, "And it seems that I have no choice but to aid you both with the consequences of your actions."
Really, had he not expected that one way or another Yuki would find a way to try and seek his help again? From Yuki's reaction to Blackie's presence, this was clearly not what he would have had in mind. The Count sighed softly. Of all the irresponsible creatures, it had to be him.
Despite it all, even as the two awkwardly greeted each other, Count D was formulating a plan for what was to come for the them. The both of them, and the life that Blackie would bear. Inu-Mitsu And odd silence fell over the room as Blackie re-entered and the Count stood in the door not far off. Mitsu thought about standing and properly greeting him but they still seemed to be in the heat of conversation. And then....Yuki arrived. That was very sudden and unexpected but Mitsu remained silent unsure what had brought about his sudden appearance. "Yuki? What the hell are you doing here?" Neko asked in an almost joking manner as he moved toward Yuki. He was glad there was someone else here from the house other than Vash.Vash continued to silently stuff his face watching the going ons like he was watching a movie at its climax. The reaction between Yuki and Blackie didn't go unnoticed and Vash wondered what their relationship was. Kesmi Kinda wobbling for a moment, Blackie walked over to Yuki and wrapped her arms about him. She didn't think she could really be angry with him, but how he had acted that other time in the shop it was questionable. Resting her head against his arm she looked up at Yuki. "No need to be sorry Yuki. I possibly would have done the same thing if I were in your position." She nodded angling herself just right to try and hide her belly that was quite visible to everyone. Looking to the Count for a moment, her gaze soon looked to the floor. She knew she had to tell him sooner or later, later being the worst time and she wasn't exactly looking to tell him in the middle of the shop. As it were she didn't know how he would react to it, worse then she , she supposed even if she were the one carrying the little one or ones.
"Yuki I have something to tell you." She started, face still looking toward the floor. "Yuki, I'm pregnant." Well there it was, she had said it. Looking up horrified as to what he would do, she hoped he wouldn't be angry with her. It was clearly an accident on both their parts. Hers mostly for being insistent on sleeping with him the first night they met. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu's face lightened considerably. "A baby? That's wonderful!" She smiled clasping her hands together excitedly. Truly she did not grasp the situation as she looked at the secret couple fondly. "I'm sure everyone will be excited." The others in her party apparently didn't share the same enthusiasm. Vash had been watching the couple intently as Black stepped up beside Yuki. Her state had gone fairly unnoticed but it became all too clear as she uttered those faithful words. In his shock Vash inhaled a bit to much and started to choke on the last doughnut he had shoved in his mouth. After a few short seconds of flailing he finally pounded on his chest a bit aiding the large chunk of pastry down. Taking a much needed deep breath Vash sat back in his current seat looking as though the doughnut had just beaten him senseless.Neko on the other hand didn't even try to hide the amusement he got from the situation. At first he wasn't sure what to make of Blackie cuddling up to Yuki all friendly like. He had never seen this girl before so how did she know Yuki? And then....she spilled the best news Neko could have ever heard and it took all Neko had to keep from busting out with laughter. "You?" Neko pointed to Yuki and then to Blackie. "Got her pregnant?" Tears were starting to p***k at his eyes as he continued to hold his laughter in. "That's the best thing I've heard today." Finally Neko let it out, a loud outburst of laughter as he walked away and sat down beside Mitsu wrapping an arm around her shoulder. Apparently the news had put him in a better mood. "Neko?" Mitsu's brows had furrowed together in a mixture of anger and confusion as Neko sat beside her. She wasn't sure what to make of his gesture but sat still all the same. Hitsuzen His... Problems? Yuki still stared forward at Blackie when Count D spoke to him. Blackie was his problem? But then he continued, and it only confused him more. Neko's greeting gained no more than a quick glance, before Yuki's attention returned to the woman in front of him. Yuki stiffened when Blackie embraced him, and barely relaxed when she accepted his apology. But... How could she possibly know his reasoning for abandoning her if he hadn't spoken of it to anyone aside from the Count? Perhaps he had told her of the dreams, but even then only Yuki knew how much worse those had gotten.
Then, she spoke again. He waited for her to tell him that she was finished with him, even though her arms around him more than guaranteed that this wasn't the case. He stared down at her in anxious silence, afraid to look up at the others around, he could feel them staring at them as it was.
But he could have never prepared himself for those two words.
"Y-you're..." He croaked, face going blanch. His mouth worked without words for a second or two, before he gave up and closed it. He waited for her to continue, wanting to hear that he was not responsible. He couldn't have been... Could he? Mitsu's words of excitement only made him look increasingly nervous. Neko's, on the other hand, frightened him. The other feline was driving the hopes of this being untrue right out of his head, and Yuki began to shake his head in protest.
The laughter didn't even seem to sink in, and he was too stunned to be angry. "No..." He defended quietly, toward Neko even if the word would go unheard. I... Can't be... It can't be me. Yuki took an unsteady step backward, trying to draw himself away from Blackie as gently as he could manage, though in his stress that might have been easier said than done. "Who?" He asked in a breath, looking down at Blackie fearfully, desperately wishing to hear an answer of anyone other than him. Kesmi Draven looked over toward Neko as his wings fluffed up a bit defensively. Stepping over behind the feline, he reached out to take hold of him and drag him to his feet. Draven wasn't much for standing up for his housemates, but for Blackie at least he would. Being the only sane male in the household he didn't take too kindly to others laughing at things that were serious. "I would be taking those words back." He hissed as his other hand balled up into a fist that looked like he was ready to deck him one. "Because the next time your tongue wags like that you might find it in your stomach." Shallow threat at best, but one he wasn't afraid to make a promise if he wasn't taken too seriously. Blackie shot a glare back toward Neko whom Draven seemed to be handling and looking back toward Yuuki as he pulled out of her grasp. He looked scared, she was too scared that something bad was going to come out of all this. "Yours Yuki, you are the only one I've seen. Draven there is a housemate of mine, my Keeper's protector of sorts." She stepped towards Yuki, though stopped and looked back toward the floor, one hand holding her other arm. Boy did she feel like she was going to tear the world apart by just looking at it wrong. Sighing she shook her head and looked back toward Yuki in a somewhat pleading way hoping that he would understand that it was both their mistake. Well more hers then his, she was the one that came onto him instead of the other way around... "I'm sorry Yuki, If there was a way I could undo what has been done, I would." Her voice soft, perhaps too soft for anyone, but herself to hear... "I'm sorry." She repeated closing her eyes tightly willing herself not to break into tears... Wasn't working. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu's excitement for the situation quickly faded when she saw that her enthusiasm for a baby was not shared. "It's not a bad thing....is it?" "Well, In Yuki's case I would think it would be," Neko snickered a little but his own enjoyment for the situation was short lived as he was dragged from his seat. The threat that Draven uttered barely reached his ears before Neko swung his arms up in what looked like a defensive manner but soon proved to be offencive since he held a knife in each hand. He quickly swiped at the hand holding him more to break Draven's hold then cause any real damage.
"Keep your hands off me," Neko growled."Neko!" Mitsu jumped from her seat wide eyed and unsure what to do. She looked at the Count almost afraid that he would be cross with her for not keeping Neko under control. But what was she to do? She was..."Useless..." That word escaped her lips so softly not even her own ears could pick it up, but she knew that she had spoken it. Useless, that word had a very familiar ring to it but in her mind she could hear someone else saying it. Vash stood from his seat as well unsure where his aid might be needed. In his eyes this situation was getting a little out of hand and it was more that obvious it was time to go. "Neko...we need to leave." Vash said more harshly than he had ever spoken before which seemed to gain the feline's attention for at least a second before he focused back on Draven.Kesmi Draven had let Neko go as soon as knives come into view and somewhat shoved him back, wishing he had his blade with him. But Blackie had awakened him too early and he hadn't though it would turn into a bloodbath so early in the morning. "Yes, you should leave, before someone gets hurt." Draven agreed with Vash, even if he'd never seen him before, then again he hadn't seen too many from the shop since he was taken home by Sadie. "Sorry about that, but that mouth of his is worse then a serpents." he apologized to Vash and Mitsu in turn. Giving one last glare toward Neko he turned and walked away, wings held close to his back like a feathered cloak. Inu-Mitsu "Heh, Music to my ears. Let's go." Neko flipped the blades in his hands back down and hid them in the sleeves of his shirt where they were before. Dusting himself off Neko straightened up and headed for the door. "I didn't even want to be here.""Then why the hell did you come?" Vash questioned as he stepped up behind Neko on their way out the door. "You knew this was where Mitsu wanted to go."Instead of answering Neko threw the door open making the bell to the shop entrance give a harsh jingle before he stormed out. Vash only sighed and followed behind him leaving Mitsu in the shop to watch them go. She had hesitated in following them but at the same time didn't want to stay. Her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment as she hung her head trying to word an apology in her mind. Nothing sounded adequate enough to cover Neko's actions in the shop. "I'm....sorry." Mitsu said softly not looking up as she still stood in the same place she had been. She started to fidget with the hem of her shirt hoping the Count would understand. The Petshop of Horrors The news was spoken, and Yuki reacted just how he had expected him to. The others, however, clearly had mixed thoughts on the situation. Count D turned his attention to Neko briefly as he went into a fit of laughter. He couldn't help but wonder what Yuki's reaction would be to such ridicule.
But nothing came of it, he was too shocked to respond. Still in denial that he was responsible for such a mistake, D knew. "There was no other, Yuki. You've brought this upon Blackie, and avoiding her isn't going to make it go away." Irritation that it seemed that Yuki used her and tossed her? Most likely.
To Mitsu's question, D shook his head slowly. "Sometimes... Proper thought of the consequences of one's actions..." He looked pointedly at the back of Yuki's head, "Leads to unplanned and undesired results. The child that they have conceived is such a case here." He'd leave unspoken just how large a birthing from either a spider or rabbit could be, only time would tell just how many new lives would come from this.
His attention to the serious matter at hand was wretched away when Draven and Neko began to argue, and swiftly suggest that violence was soon to follow. "Stop!" He shouted, though even then his voice did not rise much in volume. "Stop this now!" He looked from one to the other, and once they'd backed off he rubbed the bridge of his nose lightly. "I cannot recall a time before I set up shop in Gaia... When I had to replace my furniture so often. Please don't risk breaking something again!" It really wasn't clear on if he'd have been offended for them to fight otherwise, but that much mattered not, Vash had urged them to leave. At least there was a level head between the three of them.
He cast a bit of a glare at Draven, "Hold your tongue, I won't have this foolishness starting up again." He frowned as Neko stormed out, but at least he'd gone without additional threats. Shifting his gaze to Mitsu, he shook his head. "No, no... He's always been that way." He sighed, "Just watch him closely, before he picks his fights with the wrong person." Hitsuzen As soon as Blackie had answered, confirming exactly what he didn't want to hear, Yuki seemed incapable to do little more than stand and stare at her. Through her, really, he seemed merely to be staring into space. He had already paled considerably, and the fears and memories fighting in his mind for his attention were quickly growing into more than he could rightly process.
But over all of these memories and voices of a life long past, one familiar voice overpowered the rest, growing in anger and volume within his head.
'You've only got yourself to blame...' 'You are a fool.' 'Did I not warn you?' 'You knew that this would happen, and you didn't listen!'
His heart pounded painfully in his chest, and his breathing quickened.
'She could have lived, had it not been for you!'
An outward gasp, and Yuki's knees buckled. He lost consciousness, and crumpled to the floor. Kesmi Blackie looked up hearing Count shout, more or less, and wondered if it had been a goo0d idea to have come and seen him. Much less brought Draven along just to have him causing move of a stir when Neko spoke up about making fun of Yuki. She had seen that the poor guy was having a time as it was. Shaking her head she hadn't meant for any of this to happen. Feeling the world about her crumbling, she had turning to take flight from the shop when she heard a thud behind her. Turning she looked down at Yuki scared out of her wit.
"YUKI!" She screamed in a high pitched voice as she wheeled around and almost landed herself on the floor.
Though the distance wasn't 'that' far between them, Yuki had distanced himself from her as if she had been a disease or something of that nature. Kneeling down beside beside him, she pushing the hair that might have falling into his face away and pulled his head to be laying on her lap as she knelt there. Tears were already welled in her eyes she she couldn't hold them back as they fell one after another landing on his face and her pant legs.
"I'm sorry, so sorry Yuki." She repeated over and over again as she laid his head back onto the floor, standing she fled, eyes closed and wasn't really looking back. Leaving Draven standing there barely understanding what was going on.Barely registering Count's words he turned to see Blackie fleeing away from Yuki as if she had hurt him in some way, and Yuki laying on the floor. Now this was confusing, not really knowing what was going on. He didn't know if he should stay, or go find Blackie and make sure she didn't do anything to harm herself. "Ah... What just happened?" he asked kinda blankly as he looked from Yuki to the Count then to the door that was still closing from Blackie's quick and quite upset exit. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu only nodded at the Count and began to take her leave when she heard a thud behind her. Turning back a little she saw Yuki on the ground and Blackie trying to comfort him. "Yuki?" She hurried back into the shop and just as she came up beside the pair Blackie fled as if the room had repelled her. "Y..Yuki?" Mitsu watched Blackie go as she knelt down beside Yuki to see if he was alright. "Yuki are you okay?" Placing a hand on his shoulder she tried to shake him lightly to see if he would stir. The Petshop of Horrors ”Oh my…” The Count murmured, though his voice lacked the concern that one would assume it should have held. He observed Yuki hit the floor, and Blackie nearly follow out of surprise. It was a shame, really. The girl crying and caring for a man that seemed not to share her affections. “You have nothing to apologize for, Blackie.” He said, “Even so, it’s too late for that now.” Whether his words were heard or not, he was unsure, for in only a few moments the spider had risen from the floor and run from the shop.
Perhaps this was going to be more of a challenge than even he had thought.
“Well, at least Blackie is keeping no secrets.” He said quietly, and looked up from Yuki’s unconscious form to Draven. “It appears that the father-to-be couldn’t take the news.” That was putting it lightly, of course. Even he knew it. However, there was no use in raising concern over why to those who would not already understand.
Not once until now had Count D moved from where he stood, from the look of things he‘d be left alone shortly. He finally stepped calmly around Yuki and Mitsu, “I would give him room, Dear…” He bent down to place a hand on her shoulder gently, urging her to mind his words. “You wouldn‘t wish to be in the way if he wakes up startled.” Hitsuzen It hadn’t taken much effort on Mitsu‘s part to wake him. Nearly immediately once she‘d tried to stir him, Yuki drew in a deep gasp of air as though he hadn’t drawn a breath since he‘d fallen. His eyes shot open and he quickly rose into a sitting position and scrambled blindly for a moment away from whatever had touched him.
He panted, staring fearfully at the both of them until his vision finally cleared. Once he realized that it had only been Mitsu, and that he was still in the shop, his breathing slowly began to steady. Yuki could easily enough remember what had happened before he had passed out, and looked around anxiously for Blackie. She, along with Neko and Vash, were gone.
His expression of fear faded, and he looked… Ashamed. “I… I never meant for it to come to this.” Gaze rested in his lap, “I can‘t do this. I can‘t…” The Petshop of Horrors Count D stood and moved to take a seat on the sofa, pouring himself a cup of tea. Where some people had their morning coffee, the Count had his tea. What with the dose of excitement he‘d had this morning before he had the chance to sit down and consume some of the sugary substance, he was beginning to become irritable. Not to say that what had just occurred wasn‘t completely worthy of stirring up a foul mood, with or without the tea.
“You should have thought about that, before you put yourselves into this mess.” He replied once Yuki had finally stopped talking. “You will assist Blackie in raising the child you helped conceive. You‘re not being given a choice in the matter, Yuki.” Hitsuzen ”You don‘t understand!” He shouted suddenly, “She‘s not safe with me!” He looked to Mitsu. If the Count wouldn‘t listen, or understand, she would. What help she could provide, he couldn‘t rightly process right now. He was desperate for someone to realize why he was acting this way.
“If he finds out… He‘ll kill her, too.” He said, in little more than a whisper. He feared Draven would hear, but at this point it didn‘t matter. “I’ve remembered, what he said to me...”
“I will not let you repeat my mistake.” Words that he had fully understood at the time, a threat that had been made so calmly, instructions so important that he had ignored.
He shook his head, bringing his arms up to hide his face from view. He was shaking now. “I can‘t let it happen again…” He said softly, voice quivering just barely. “I won‘t let it happen again…” The Petshop of Horrors Taking a sip of tea, Count D stared up at Draven thoughtfully. “What would you have him do?” He asked, curiously. Though, while he awaited the raven’s answer, he pondered.
These dreams that Yuki had briefly spoken of those many weeks ago, they really must have been the memories that had been locked away. Left conveniently forgotten, so that there had been little to fear. “You entered that home to protect them, Yuki.” A short pause, “Who will do that if you are afraid to face him now?” Hitsuzen There was a very long pause, in which Yuki only withdrew his arms from in front of him and looked up toward where Count D was seated. I‘m not afraid. Say it. I‘m not afraid of him. “I… I don‘t know.” Inu-Mitsu Mitsu jerked back frightened when Yuki sat up and scrambled back out of fear. "Yuki?" She spoke softly worried as to whether he was okay or not. It didn't seem like he was right at the moment, plagued with fear and doubt, but there seemed to be more to the situation than just the baby. Yuki quickly confirmed that when he turned to her and spoke. "If he finds out...He'll kill her, too."For a moment Mitsu couldn't understand, she didn't know who Yuki was talking about, but the fear that he displayed was enough to make her worried. "Yuki..." She said with more concern but a bit soothingly as she drew near him again to place her arms around his shoulders. "It will be okay....won't it?" Mitsu looked to the Count as she spoke hoping he would give them words of assurance. The Petshop of Horrors The response wasn't a surprise. There was no sign that the Count cared much either way, however. "It may be time to think about that, Yuki." He suggested softly. His gaze still remained directed elsewhere, clearly his morning tea and sweets were very important. Even if they had not been, this creature had already been told that he'd no longer be receiving aid after his irresponsible actions. And, behold, here he was getting it anyway.
To Mitsu, his reply didn't seem quite so monotone. "It is hard to determine the answer... I suppose it would greatly depend on just what you would consider to be 'okay,' Miss Mitsu." Inu-Mitsu Mitsu really wasn't sure how to respond to the Count. Instead she focused on Yuki as he sat on the floor obviously still shaken up about everything. Finally an idea came to mind. "Come on, Yuki." Mitsu said softly offering her hand. "We'll go to the coffee shop or something. Maybe to the store. It'll give you some time to think." Think about what Mitsu was unsure though she was confident that Yuki probably didn't want to go home just yet. Or maybe he did? Either way she knew he needed time to collect himself before doing anything. "I think Hitsu wanted some things from the store. Maybe you can help me carry stuff back home?" Though with Vash and Neko she wouldn't really need any help but she would be sure to send them home so they wouldn't bother Yuki. Vash would probably be fine but Neko was the problem and she would need Vash to make sure Neko really did go home. "What do you say?" She looked at Yuki hoping he would take her up on her offer. Maybe he would talk for a bit and sort stuff out. Kesmi Draven wasn't overly sure what to answer the Count as he was already half way to the door. Stopping, his wings half fanning out, he looked back at Count and toward Yuki whom seemed to be worried about all this. "I know I wouldn't just abandon her." He put simply stepped out the door and lifting off the ground and head off to find Blackie. It wouldn't take much to find her as she was always at the park, in one of her favorite roosts, though Draven doubted that Yuki would come. He seemed too caught up in things to think straight. What was he to tell their keeper? That was his dreaded thoughts...

Hitsuzen For several, long moments, Yuki did nothing but stare at where the Count was seated. It was like his mind was still in a daze. Due to Blackie's horrible news, and the growing memories of his counterpart's life... The two subjects of his concerns were mixing together in his mind, and it was not a harmonious combination.
When Mitsu wrapped her arms around his shoulders, he grew tense again. Though, he did not draw himself away. He knew she was trying to comfort him, and while he appreciated it, it felt horrible to accept such a kind gesture after what he had done. He was setting it all into motion again. It was only a matter of time before her blood would cover his hands, if he couldn't figure out a way to stop it... He had to succeed where he had failed before, for her sake... He had to stay away from Blackie. None of them would understand, but it was for the best. Yes, that would be his course of action.
'Yuki.'
Mitsu's words went completely ignored at first, it wasn't until he'd heard his sister's name that he slowly seemed to regain his focus on the outside world. He finally turned his attention to the girl next to him, the hint of confusion in his expression making it obvious that he hadn't been paying attention to her at all.
'Maybe you can help me carry stuff back home?'
From where, he'd not processed. "Sure." He replied quietly, reaching out to take her offered hand gently. He didn't pull against her to get to his feet, of course, but he might as well accept her gesture to assist. Once on his feet, his expression took on a more neutral tone, and he looked to her when she questioned him again. "Lead the way."
He glanced toward the door at Draven's departure, and with a pang of guilt quickly shifted his gaze to the floor. If only they knew, perhaps they wouldn't think so lowly of him. Or would they think him even worse, to be so foolish?
He didn't want to give the Count time to agree or disagree. "I want to leave." As quiet as he was, those words were firm. He hoped Mitsu wouldn't protest, as she seemed to be the one urging them elsewhere, but he'd leave with or without her. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu didn't speak but only offered Yuki a soft smile of understanding, whether she really understood or not was a question left unanswered. When he told her to lead the way she nodded still keeping a hold of his hand so that she may in fact guide him. 'I want to leave.'She could only imagine he meant leave the shop and they were on their way out weren't they. "All right." Mitsu said softly in agreement as she looked up at Yuki's towering form. She no doubt looked like a small child compared to him. "It was good to see you again," She directed this statement at the Count as she started to make her way to the door. First at the door she opened it up and smiled again softly as she waited for Yuki to exit. She was so unsure what to do or if she could even help him but she would try to be there if she could. If anything she would at least listen to maybe take some of the stress off of his mind. Hitsuzen Had he honestly expected her to say no?
Following Mitsu to the door, Yuki offered no words of goodbye to the Count as she had. Though, the way he saw it, there was no sense in it. The Count probably knew well enough that he was one of the people Yuki didn‘t want to speak to right now.
Passing Mitsu at the door, quietly wondering why she was making such an effort to escort him, Yuki took his leave and ascended the stairs. The Petshop of Horrors Draven gained no response from Count D, though he‘d actually expected some sort of rise from Yuki. However, there was not. ”You too, Dear.” Was the Count‘s only reply to Mitsu, and he watched the two take their leave.
He sighed softly, absently looking over his collection of sweets. Surely this phone call could wait until after breakfast, right? He thought so.

Took Place Over PM
Inu-Mitsu As Yuki walked out the door Mitsu followed behind him quietly. She only glanced back at the Count shortly with a soft sad smile as the door closed behind them. In a sense, she didn't like to see anyone upset. It was tough for her to deal with when others were upset. Wasn't she the weak one? For the longest time they walked in silence. At least it felt that way. It could have very possibly been a few minutes but silence does that. "Hey!" Mitsu's ears perked up at the familiar voice as Neko and Vash came running up toward her. "I thought you were right behind us, what happened?" Neko all but demanded as he towered over Mitsu. "I was....waiting for Yuki. We are going to the store." "Good, I could use a few things, which one are we going to?" Vash asked as he tried to map out a course in his mind. "N...no no. we are going to the store." Mitsu tried to lay it out the best she could without being rude. She didn't want to send them away but she knew better than to keep Neko around while Yuki was upset. "We huh?" Neko glanced up at Yuki narrowing his eyes a bit as he looked him over. His piercing blue eyes seemed to judge him, bore into him, as if looking for the simplest thing to pull him apart. "All right then." All right then? Mitsu was wide eyed looking at Neko as if stunned that it would be that easy. "See you at home." And without another word Neko turned on a dime and walked off. "I uhh..." Vash fumbled with his words unsure as to what to say. "Can you pick me up some doughnuts?" Mitsu nodded, "Sure....just....make sure that Neko actually goes home." With that said Vash gave a nod and a quick salute before he was right behind Neko to trail him all the way home. Finally with those two gone, Mitsu looked toward Yuki with a soft understanding smile again. "Can you walk me to the supermarket?" Hitsuzen At first, Yuki had hoped that they would have been left alone. Now that they were out of the Count's obnoxiously knowing eye, perhaps they could get Mitsu's errands done, if there really were any, and then he could just go home and lock himself away like he'd become prone to doing within the previous few weeks. A month ago, it had been, and had Yuki had an inkling of what was going to come of this, would he have given a second thought? His dreams told him no, clearly he'd done this once before, and knowingly at risk. He felt himself going tense again when he felt Neko staring at him, though he occupied himself by examining the sidewalk instead of making eye contact. Typically, he would have given a rude remark or action in response to even this mild harassment, but not this time. Yuki had stood in silence as the three conversed shortly, and what relief he felt when Vash and Neko walked off was not shown. Instead, he only looked down to Mitsu, and nodded lightly to her request. "Sure." He'd expected that, since she'd asked him to accompany her, after all. But why? Was he about to get drilled with questions? It was this thought that made him actually frown, though he hadn't exactly looked very happy before. He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again. Though, after a couple of seconds he decided to say it anyway. "You... Can't tell Hitsu about this. Alright?" There wasn't much of a pause, before he clarified. "About what happened in the shop... With Blackie, and the Count... Or anything you heard me say." He looked down to her again as he walked, his expression pleading. "Even anything that we talk about... She doesn't need to know." Anything that they talked about? Perhaps he really did want to get a few things off his chest. Or maybe he just wanted someone to tell him that he wasn't crazy. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu paused a moment as Yuki spoke asking her not to tell Hitsu. As an answer she nodded as he continued to explain what she was not supposed to tell Hitsu about. When they started to walk again Mitsu looked into his pleading gaze and smiled warmly. "I understand." Then he finished his sentence with something Mitsu didn't expect to hear. She had hoped he would open up and talk a little bit though she honestly expected to give him a little company before he walled himself back up in his room not to be seen for days. It worried her when her family was distressed. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone anything," Mitsu agreed. "You can trust me." She then thought about it for a moment. Considering how Yuki felt, or at least looked like he felt, his garbage was on the table for her to see. He was exposed, vulnerable, and that wasn't quite fair. "If you want," She finally began again. "I'll share a secret with you...and we can keep each other's secrets." Mitsu than began to think, trying to find something good as far as secrets went that wouldn't need hours of explanation. Her memories were still very blurry as far as her past went but large chunks of them were coming back to her. Large scary chunks. Then that man came to mind, that frightening man with rectangular glasses and a wide sinister smile. "Just know...whatever I tell you may not make complete sense. I honestly....don't remember a lot of things. The time before I lived in that apartment by myself is still fuzzy to me. I remember chunks of memories, images, conversations, people. I know the emotions I felt but I can't link them to anything specific, but there is one thing I am almost certain of........... I killed Neko." She looked at Yuki sheepishly for a moment knowing that didn't make much sense with Neko still alive and well, but Mitsu wasn't sure if it was really him. "I know it sounds strange and doesn't make much sense." Mitsu went on trying to piece the information together into something audible. "But my memory of that moment is as clear as day, I know its not a dream. And I....umm," Mitsu trailed off as she looked up at Yuki again. She was sharing a secret so there was no real reason for her to clarify but she felt the need to do so anyway. "Please don't tell Neko. I don't know the situation that led to that point and I know he would have questions....and I would have no answers." Hitsuzen He was relieved when she agreed not to speak of this elsewhere, though inwardly he knew that sooner or later the truth would be out. At least, when it came to Blackie. She knew where he lived, after all, and he had the suspicion that if she didn't show up to confront him, that raven would probably take it upon himself to do so. Whether that would be to inflict pain, or drag him to the spider, he had no idea... And he tried to stop thinking about that matter all together right now. The past was distressing enough, even with the gaps that still remained unknown. He wasn't sure if he wanted to remember those, at this rate. Looking down to Mitsu curiously when she began to share disturbing memories of her own, he listened quietly. He could relate to the idea that anything spoken of his own past probably wouldn't make sense to her, but it probably wouldn't stop him from trying. It had all been kept unspoken for so long, and especially with everything happening now, it finally seemed necessary that someone else know what had and may again come to pass. She might have expected shock, perhaps even for him to recoil at the thought that she'd killed someone who seemed to so clearly be alive and well in their company most of the time. Though, wasn't he in the same boat? Even more... Wouldn't he and Neko have something in common, even if Neko would never learn of it? "I killed someone, too..." He murmured, and his expression softened a moment, as a portion of those memories replayed themselves in his mind. He'd seen this young woman, Kioko, murdered in so many brutal ways. Which of them had been real? It didn't matter, he knew, for one thing was certain; His father had killed her centuries ago and from there everything had been a downward spiral. "Not with my own hands... But... I may as well have." He frowned, and he'd cast his gaze down to the sidewalk again. That feeling of guilt was coming back again, "My father told me not to get involved with the humans." He apparently found it needed to clarify again; "He wasn't the Dynast that you know, Mitsu... This man was colder, more intimidating... Cruel." So much could be packed within that final, single word. "I'm afraid of how this is... Changing me." "If all of these memories of mine were missing... Does that mean that he didn't remember them, either?" Yuki looked to Mitsu, almost fearfully as though the thought had only now surfaced in his mind. "If he knew he had something over me, wouldn't he have used it by now?" "What am I going to do... If I've messed up, and it causes him to turn into.... Him?" He shook his head, "I didn't really grasp what the Count tried to tell me all that time ago... How can you feel like you ARE someone... And not be?" He put a hand to his chest, "I am Yuki. But... I'm not really Yuki..." He was ranting now, he knew it and swiftly began to trail off. "I think..." No, he knew. "He's been dead for a long time... I just don't know if Hitsu knows that." Inu-Mitsu As Yuki started to open up Mitsu quickly began to realize where she thought her past made little sense Yuki's very well could have made none. It was hard to focus on what he was talking about there was so much information coming at her all at once. It was lucky she had agreed not to tell anyone, she wouldn't be able to remember all of this if she tried. The last part of his confession was what really caught her attention though. 'How can you feel like you ARE someone... And not be?' So maybe that was the evidence Mitsu needed. Yuki and Neko had come from the same shop, they....they were not people...not normal people. Of course, few in their group were normal people even those that didn't come from the shop. "So the real Yuki is gone and you are here in his place? Do you....do you think its the same for Neko?" She averted her gaze now. Up until this point she had passed her dream off as just that, a dream. True, it was clear in her mind and fresh as if it had happened yesterday but there was no proof. Especially with Neko still here. But if the real Yuki was dead and there was another Yuki here...."Do you think will will tell Hitsu some day? About umm...you...that's not you. Her....her brother that is you." Okay so that was a bit confusing. Hitsuzen He nodded to the first question, "Yeah, I am... A fabrication of her brother." Yuki nodded once more in response when she continued. "Probably. He doesn't know about it, does he?" "I'm not sure if we're a special case, or what... The Count told me what I was while I was still at the shop." He shrugged, then sighed. "Hitsu's told me about a few of the things that happened before I got here... I'm amazed they were all still alive... Well, I take that back..." He grimaced, but didn't clarify. He was certain that descriptions of what state they'd found Vincent in would be better left unspoken, it didn't matter now anyway. When asked if he would tell Hitsu that her real brother was dead, Yuki cast his eyes to the pavement again and shook his head. "No... Because I don't want to know what it would do to her." "What frightens me even more than all of these nightmares is what the Count keeps talking about... I've been here to fill a need. So has my father. If I can't help her anymore, what happens to me?" He couldn't imagine what need she had for their father, that had never been explained to him, but Yuki knew that his own purpose was to protect her from Dynast. "I wasn't supposed to remember all of these things, because without them I had no reason to fear him." Inu-Mitsu Mitsu was silent for the longest time after Yuki had confirmed what she had feared. For a while she didn't nothing but listen until she finally realized he had stopped talking and allowed her thoughts to collide together. "But would you have taken you job of protecting Hitsu seriously if you did not understand the fear?" Okay, that was far more deep than even Mitsu had realized as she spoke it. It was like some other being had control of her mouth because honestly, she barely understood what she just said but it made sense.....didn't it? "And...maybe Dynast isn't the only problem?" Though Mitsu also didn't know what she meant by that either. She was aiming toward maybe Dynast wasn't the only thing Hitsu needed protection from but it came out more vague and mysterious. Like she had taken lessons from the Count himself. But as she spoke something odd came to mind. It was random and yet very on topic. "Yuki, if you are not the original Yuki...who were you before you came to live with Hitsu? Did you live as someone else or have you always been...well.....Yuki?" And odd question maybe, and possibly one with no answer. But Mitsu was curious to know the answer if there was one for more than one reason. Hitsuzen "I had most of his memories." Yuki explained, "I didn't need to understand why she was afraid of him, really... All I knew was that she was afraid of him. As far as I'm concerned, facade or not, I am her brother. Keeping her safe, and happy, is all that's important to me." He actually smiled for a moment, "So, yes, I would have... To answer your question." His smile faded, and he gave her a questioning glance upon suggestion that Dynast wasn't the only problem. "I'm... Not sure I follow." Was she trying to say that someone else could be causing her grief? No one that he knew of... As he was pondering this, she'd asked another question. To this, however, the answer seemed to come much easier. He shrugged lightly, "I don't remember anything, if I ever was with someone else." It was probably a good thing, this 'life' was confusing enough as it is. Inu-Mitsu Something about how he spoke for a moment brought a warm feeling to Mitsu's heart. It was that spark of hope that Yuki understood why he was there even if she didn't understand that. There was just that confidence behind his voice when he answered her question, his profound sense of purpose. "Hitsu is very lucky...to have a brother like you." Mitsu smiled as she looked up at Yuki. She was envious of Hitsu, she wished she had an older brother, especially one as caring as Yuki. It was a nice feeling to think about knowing there was someone that was worried about you and cared about what happened to you. "If I had an older brother I would want him to be like you." There was so much truth in her statement there was no room for doubt. It was spoken with clarity and no hesitation. There was a silence as they walked for a while, at least on Mitsu's end. She was content to listen to whatever Yuki had to say if anything at all but random things popped into her head though she wondered if any were worth asking. Then...there was one question that kept nagging her but she put it off until they were actually in sight of the store. "Yuki?" She could tell even before she asked that she was treading on sensitive ground and yet on she strolled. "Who was she?" Hitsuzen Mitsu's words were flattering, to say the least. He smiled softly again, it apparently helped that the subject was drifting away from the more serious matter at hand. That, and it felt good for someone to believe that he was doing something right for once. He knew that his sister appreciated him, there had never been any doubt there, but everyone else... That was iffy most of the time. "You think so?" Obviously she had, and the words that followed further suggested that. "Thanks." He said softly, "It means a lot to me, Mitsu... For you to say that." He was silent for a moment, then gave a short laugh. He draped an arm over her shoulders and tugged her toward him, hugging her with one arm. "Don't go all sappy on me, though. You know I'd look out for you, too, right?" He released her just as quickly, as not to bother her with the gesture if he hadn't managed to already. He looked ahead to see their destination not far off, and picked up his pace a little. At least the mood wasn't so gloomy anymore. "Yeah?" He'd replied when Mitsu had addressed him, glancing over his shoulder just briefly. And then, she'd asked him. He didn't need any clarification to know what she was talking about, and whom she referred to unknowingly. The grief hit him again like a kick in the chest, and he came to a sudden halt. "I was talking about..." He hadn't looked toward her, instead he'd lowered his gaze to the ground again. There was a moment's hesitation, and the sadness in his voice only became more apparent when he murmured the last. "Kioko..." After a few seconds, he continued forward, though not as enthusiastically as he had been. Inu-Mitsu With work Mitsu had managed to raise Yuki's gloomy mood to something a little lighter, and in one swift blow threw that all away. Her curiosity to know had caused her to overlook the fact that it was a sensitive subject, but at the same time it was probably something Yuki needed to talk about. "Kioko?" Mitsu asked softly looking at Yuki's back as he walked ahead. She could tell she had hit a soft spot in his memories, something fragile. "She was someone important to you, wasn't she?" Mitsu asked as she tried to catch up, her shorter legs forcing her to jog a little. She regretted her choice of questions a little. It was nice to have seen Yuki smile and the slight hug he had offered was welcomed since it was something Mitsu rarely experienced. But now he was like he had been back at the shop, the grief very plain on his face and the sadness in his eyes was heart breaking. Mitsu wished she could have taken it back but she knew too well that the world was full of sadness and you could only escape from it for so long before it would eat you up inside. Hitsuzen Yuki had wordlessly entered the small grocery store, snagged a cart and gave no response when she repeated Kioko's name. He didn't want to think about her, not right now. Yet, her mention made that impossible. Kioko had haunted his dreams, and while he still did not know exactly who she had been, how long he had known her, or how far into his past their interactions had been there was one thing that he knew without any fragment of a doubt. She had loved him, trusted him, and he had failed her in the worst way possible. "She's dead, because of me." He said quietly, "And every time I close my eyes, I see it happening. Over and over again. It's not even the same each time..." He wasn't even sure which was real, or if somehow they all had been... But he was convinced that this girl had been human, mortal, so that had to have been impossible. As much as it hurt him, he tried to think for a moment. Could he be dreaming of his own nightmares? They were memories, after all, vivid as they were... Nightmares seemed real at times, but... He knew that something horrible had really happened, what other reason would there be for this fear? Why did he know now that being close to someone was dangerous? He pressed his fingertips to one of his temples and groaned softly, trying to make sense of it all made his head hurt. The gaps, the memories that he still lacked, made it difficult to make sense of it all. It made his head hurt to think about it for too long. "I-I... I'm s-sorry..." He murmured, "I d-don't want to talk about this anymore." Was he shaking? He felt like he was. "It hurts too much." Aside from his head, there was a tightness in his chest that he couldn't seem to shake off, and he hoped that adverting his thoughts would help ease the discomfort. Inu-Mitsu Mitsu's ears drooped a little at the sides of her head as she looked up at Yuki. "I...I'm sorry," She said softly. "I thought talking...would help. I didn't mean for it to make matters worse." She kept her voice low as they started to enter the store. It was a rather small place but the produce had always been good which was the first place Mitsu headed. "So do you honestly not remember?" The voice seemed to come out of no where which startled Mitsu as she whipped around and clung to Yuki's arm. Aisuru tilted her head as she looked at Yuki and the little girl beside him. She had seen her around the house, Mitsu she believed her name to be. Silver eyes moved from the small girl back to Yuki as she brushed some violet hair from her face. It was much longer now, he had let it grow out and it was becoming more of an annoyance than anything else. "You.....You are Aisuru....right?" Mitsu asked softly still clinging to Yuki. She had seen her here and there but never talked to her. Hitsu was the one to tell her about her. Instead of answering the little girl's question Aisuru focused more on Yuki. "Tell me Yuki......who was Kioko?" She was curious, it was hard to imagine that Yuki didn't know who his own wife was. Hitsuzen "I know, Mitsu..." He replied, trying to offer the girl a reassuring smile. "It's just confusing, when there are still pieces of everything missing." More than once, he'd just wished that everything would reveal itself to him, though in the same moment hoped that he would not have to experience it. Those memories buried deeper... Were they worse than what he was remembering? In this case, some might have been. Though, as far as not recalling the depth of his relationship with Kioko... Remembering her death was the most painful of the memories, but to remember what she meant to him would multiply that grief more than he could imagine. When Aisuru spoke to them, Yuki gave a light jolt. In actuality, it was because Mitsu had taken hold of him. He had sensed Aisuru's presence before she had made herself known, and for a few seconds Yuki pretended not to acknowledge her at all. He took his time looking over one of the displays of produce with his back to her, though he picked nothing from it. "No. I don't remember." He finally said, his voice holding a hint of annoyance. Then, he had turned to face her, ready to say something about how rude it was to sneak up on people. Though, just as soon as he opened his mouth, she had spoken again. That tone in her voice, it grated at him. Was she mocking him? She knew that he didn't remember, and yet she still pressed harder. It hit him. Of everyone he knew, everyone he could recall in his memories... Aside from his sister, there was Aisuru. Aisuru... She was still here... And she was real. "You..." He began, and as he continued he could feel that tightening in his chest again. "You know... Don't you?" He sounded far from desperate, he knew he was right. However, the fear in his eyes betrayed him. He wanted to know, but he was afraid of what that knowledge would cause. Inu-Mitsu The air was so thick now Mitsu for a moment thought she might choke. When Yuki turned on Aisuru she had let go of Yuki's arm only to take hold of his other one as he presented it to her. For some reason Aisuru made her uncomfortable, she wasn't sure what it was but it was the same feeling she got when Dynast was around. Aisuru judged him for a moment as if trying to determine his answer even though one was not given. So he really didn't remember, were those events so horrible that he had suppressed them all? Though, she had often wondered what had happened. It had been years....YEARS since she had seen him last. "Of course I know." Aisuru finally said with a calm and steady voice but offered nothing beyond confirmation that Yuki was right. The events at the time, she wished had never happened. Maybe this was a way to start over. "But.." She looked hesitant for a moment as if fighting with herself. Slowly she drew her index finger up to her face as she softly spoke the words her brother was so known for saying. "That is a secret." Hitsuzen For a moment he had held his breath, actually convinced that he was going to learn the identity of the beautiful brunette from his dreams. Aisuru had been one he had confided to in the past, he could recall that much even if what little he could recall was still a little cloudy... She was family, in a manner, surely she'd help him fill in some of these blanks. She was family, but so was Dynast, and with four little words she proved that his father was not the only one to take someone's weakness and twist it just for the sheer pleasure of seeing the response it gained. Instantly, Yuki's face had contorted in anger. "Don't PLAY with me!" He shouted, loudly and without any sign that he cared. He lunged for Aisuru, in the process wrenching his arm from Mitsu's grasp as he reached out to take hold of the demon by whatever he could grasp. What he'd do if he got hold of her, he'd figure out once it happened. "Why!? Why would you say something like that, only to spit in my face!?" Inu-Mitsu As soon as Yuki wrenched free of her grasp Mitsu was in complete panic. Everything seemed to happen in a blink of an eye and she was uncertain of the outcome. "Y...Yuki...not here," She looked around as the people began to stare. The looks she got, she felt awkward, embarrassed. They were all staring and it horrified her even if all the surrounding people were more focused on the person yelling than her. New beginning......not starting off so well, but Aisuru was never one to pick her words carefully. Often enough she strolled on dangerous ground and just like her brother became the hated enemy without trying. As soon as she had spoken those evil little words Yuki had reached out and snatched her wrist. Her eyes flew open as he approached her a fire lighting in her eyes. "It's for your own good!" She yelled back. "Sometimes things are better left behind and not remember. Remembering them now isn't going to change anything!" She took a step closer tugging on her arm to pull it free of his grasp. "Do you think knowing what happened then will change anything? Will it make you stronger...smarter maybe? NO! It will only burden your mind with useless knowledge." Aisuru almost spat as she looked into Yuki's eyes. Hitsuzen "I don't care!" He bellowed, "Tell me!" He wanted to follow that up with a threat, but it was then that he felt all of those eyes upon him. Remembered where he was, and remembered that Mitsu was no more than a few feet away. He did not look away from Aisuru, but the volume of his voice lowered to just above a whisper. "What do I have to do... To make you tell me?" There was emphasis on each word, he was obviously struggling not to continue shouting. Inu-Mitsu Every little fiber in her being tingled to hear Yuki utter those words. 'What do I have to do..' Before her mind could re wrap itself around the situation she was stepping closer to Yuki whispering so only his ears could hear. "What do you have to do?" She repeated his question softly looking into his soft teal eyes. He still held her wrist firmly but that didn't seem to bother her now as she eyed him curiously. "What do you think I want?" She was obviously being very sly now, avoiding the question and giving him no answers still. Like a game of cat and mouse. Mitsu was frozen in place watching Aisuru and Yuki interact. She certainly hoped nothing bad would happen, there were already quite a few people getting phones out and talking to people. Whether it was just relaying to friends of the weird going ons at the market or something else Mitsu didn't know. "Y...Yuki maybe....we should go?" Her voice was soft and surely didn't reach anyone's ears as she looked around nervously. Hitsuzen Why? She may be the only one with the answers... And she dangles them just out of reach. His angry expression had softened, and Yuki stared at Aisuru pleadingly, as though just doing so would force her to drop her act and tell him what he wanted to know. "What have I done, Aisuru, for you to do this to me?" He heard Mitsu, though barely a murmur, but offered no response. Inu-Mitsu "Mental Anguish," There was no hesitation in her answer, like she didn't even have to think about it. Stepping even closer still she whispered into his ear. "Complete with physical reminders." Yuki had never been the one to give her these scars but they had always been a painful reminder of what she had done and what she could never have. Like a life long torment, each scar seemed to laugh at her telling her that what she wanted would never happen. Any more she was sure to cover up her arms with a long sleeve shirt, even if it was more than ninety degrees outside she would be dressed for winter. If not with a long sleeve shirt then she would put on arm warmers or something of that nature that went all the way up her arms. There wasn't much to see on her shoulders and there was nothing she could do to hide the scars on her face. As if to prove her point she pulled up her sleeve revealing the multiple scars that littered her arm. "This is why some things are better left forgotten." Aisuru said again. "I am plagued with a physical reminder to live with the rest of my life." She managed to keep the anger out of her tone, despite how much she wanted to blame Yuki for it she knew she couldn't. "But if you really want some information," Aisuru continued a softer expression working onto her face. "I'm sure you could do something to earn it." Now that sounded a little on the naughty side, especially how her tone had switched, but she never clarified what she meant. Mitsu had started to step closer to Yuki as the crowd seemed to gather. It was obvious more than a few people were waiting for a fight to break out, and a few others were waiting to apparently call the police as they held their phones at bay. "Yuki?" Mitsu said softly again looking around them in almost a fearful manner now. This was why she never went out alone. The people that stared at her and gave her odd looks frightened her but Vash or Neko were always there to comfort her or yell at people for staring. Quietly she reached out to take hold of the back of Yuki's shirt. "Y...Yuki?" Hitsuzen For a moment, Yuki looked at Aisuru with confusion. Mental anguish? He couldn't recall a time that would give her reason to say such a thing, but there were many things that he couldn't recall. She continued to speak, but he only shook his head. "I don’t reme-" He cut himself off abruptly, staring at the scars she had revealed, previously hidden beneath her sleeve. "Wh... Who...?" He began, but even before he'd asked, somehow, he knew the answer. Images flashed in his memory, of a forest in the dead of night. Aisuru was there, standing in what little light escaped the widows of the small cottage that they were outside of. That place, that moment in time, felt so familiar... And so painful to recall. Though, now, he remembered who had given her those scars. It was not him, it was his father... But why did it sound like she was trying to blame him for her pain, when it had been Dynast? Yuki grimaced, growling in frustration as his head began to ache again. Just as he released Aisuru's wrist to put a hand to his throbbing head, her voice rang vividly in his ears. But it was nothing that she had said in the present. "You've only brought this upon yourself."" NO!" He cried, in a split second his eyes flew open and locked onto hers, furious. Yuki took hold of her again by the wrists, roughly as though he'd expected her to flee at any given moment. He advanced on her, in the process pulling himself free of Mitsu's grasp. Then, both of them vanished without a trace. ----- When Yuki rematerialized with Aisuru, they were far outside the borders of Durem, a vast area of little more than bare ground as far as the eye could see. No sooner had Yuki's feet touched ground, he pulled Aisuru close only to shove her roughly backward. "You're going to tell me what you know!" He shouted, though just how that was going to be accomplished should she refuse... He was only beginning to think about that. Inu-Mitsu One second, Mitsu had been pleading for them to leave, griping Yuki's shirt in a feverish manner. The next second, to her own horror, he had vanished. Her hand grasped around nothing as she stared at the spot he and Aisuru had been. "Y....Yuki?" Her voice wavered like she was on the edge of panic. Finally she realized....they weren't at home. They were in public. Just as soon as that realization hit her Mitsu looked up to see the patrons of the grocery store staring at her and the spot next to her in disbelief. It had been a long time since she had been alone, and this feeling of dread that it left her with was something she wished she wouldn't have had to feel ever again. Slowly she made her way to the door. As quickly as possible she would leave and head home. There it was safe and she was out of prying eyes. The door was so close...and yet so far. As she had approached it she had been swarmed. Not by angry people but people with questions, nagging questions she didn't have answers to. People from all walks of life stood around her and she suddenly felt very clostraphobic. "What just happened?" "Are we on tv, is this a magic show?" "Was that a demon?" "Can I ask you a few questions on the matter?" The questions circled around her head so fast Mitsu wasn't able to answer a single one of them. Not even seconds into her interrogation the questions went from the subject of Yuki's sudden disappearance to her own....appearance. "Look at these ears, deary me what are you?" "She has a tail look at this thing. Is it even real?" Frightened Mitsu cowered in place, eyes as round as saucers as she still remained silent. Tears began to p***k at her eyes as she wished beyond anything that she was somewhere else at that moment. Just about to let out a scream another, more familiar voice filtered through the air. Despite its familiarity it still managed to send chills up her spine and caused her to choke on her scream. "Come, my dear," The tall man loomed over her offering her his hand, his eyes could not be seen past the spectacles he wore and that smile...there was something dreadful about it. -- Aisuru could see the confusion in his eyes. Had he lost so many memories that he really didn't remember anything that had happened? Then there was his sudden outburst and just as Aisuru was about to question him he had snatched her and they both had left. They had reappeared in a place Aisuru was unfamiliar with, though most of gaia was a large question mark to her. She only had a second to look around to gather where she was before Yuki pulled her close and shoved her away. Thrown off balance Aisuru stumbled and fell on her rear. She sat there a moment wiping the dirt off her hands, the coldest stare streaming from her eyes. Oh, her blood was boiling now but she was going to play this out. For some reason her mind nagged her to play a little game, and since she lacked a great deal of morals she proceeded. "I told you before," She began darkly as she started to stand to her feet. "You will have to earn your information. But I am in a giving mood." She had asked Yuki before to beat her, hit her, show her no mercy.....and he had refused. It was her way of repentance and he had denied her that, but maybe this...new Yuki wouldn't know better. Kneeling down she reached into her left boot and produced a long sleek blade. Its handle was carved silver and letters in a foreign language were etched down the blade. In one gentle toss it landed tip down right at Yuki's feet. "If you can hit me my answers will be yours." Firmly planting her feet in the ground Aisuru crouched down and in one firm lunge was air-born. She levitated in place looking down at Yuki with a coy smile as if inviting him to do his worse. "If there is no pain there is no gain. If you truly value the information I have....you will make me bleed." It was a sick game for sure, but Aisuru was ready to play. Either way she could not lose. Hitsuzen When she hit the ground, there was a hidden satisfaction that welled up inside him for just a moment. He only returned her glare, "How the hell do you expect me to earn it?" It was a question soon answered, and he looked down to the weapon without a word for several long seconds. He knelt down to pick it up, slowly, as though a mere touch of the hilt would harm him in some way. Like the instructions she'd given him were too simple, that there had to be some trick to this. And there was, but nothing that he could have known, perhaps not even if he had recalled every moment of the past. Now, at this moment, his desperation to know the truth and his anger at Aisuru for hiding it from him altered the thought process that typically would have made him refuse. She was taunting him, mocking him, promising to tell him what he wanted to know if he could only make her bleed. And how hard could that be? It wasn't like he could kill her, even if he wanted to... Just make her bleed. "Sounds too easy," He said aloud, dwelling a moment longer on what the catch to this might be. In a few seconds, he dismissed it. Leaping from the ground to add more force and speed to his ascent, Yuki drew the blade back and would attempt a swift swipe at her as soon as she was within striking range. Inu-Mitsu Aisuru almost smirked, Yuki was more predictable than she could have imagined. Always leap in head first, never think things through. But in a way, that's what she loved about him, because sometimes you had to take risks, thinking may not always be an option. Eyes narrowed as she focused on Yuki. It was like the world had slowed down and he was moving toward her in a painfully slow pace. As soon as he was within range he made an attempt to swipe but Aisuru side stepped and aimed to grab the hand that held the blade. If she was able to grab hold of him she would use his own momentum against him and force him back toward the ground. "I never said I would just let you hit me." She said darkly eyes narrowed on Yuki's face. Hitsuzen He felt her grip, and initially gave no resistance to her attempt to move him. Levitation was a wonderful ability; He effectively slowed his fall and came at her again, though his method of attack was the same as the last. "Course not, did I say I believed you would?" Though, in his free hand there formed a small dagger of ice, which he attempted to keep from being easily spotted. A trick he expected to fail, really, but if a second swipe with the sword gained the same reaction, he'd take his chances at a strike with the makeshift blade. Inu-Mitsu Aisuru smirked, predictable really, did Yuki ever cease to prove her right? As she had done before she moved to the side, but just as she had evaded one obstacle she was quickly faced with another. Coming up on her fast was Yuki's makeshift blade, something she had been too careless to pay attention to. It was so early into the fight tricks were out of the question. With a growl Aisuru allowed herself to free fall but not before the ice dagger made contact with her cheek. Landing on her feet she pressed a hand to the side of her face feeling a warm wet sensation between her fingers. Drawing her hand back she stared at the liquid there, neither red nor black but a mix of the two. Giving a bit of a sneer she wiped at the offending wound to rid it of the evidence. One small wound...may deserve one small answer. She could change the rules as she went, she was the one that made the game after all. "You knew Kioko for some time...you were very close." She had ended her sentence like she might go on with her information but instead tilted her head to the side looking at Yuki in an oddly inviting manner. "One small wound one small answer, the greater the damage the more information you will receive." She smiled enjoying this, why she enjoyed the pain it was hard to tell. It filled a void that she felt though it wasn't very satisfying but it was the only thing that came close. "Now...why don't you put your purse down and try again," This time Aisuru stayed grounded her feet firmly planted ready for the worst to happen. Hitsuzen Such a simple tidbit of information, so simple that it felt as though she were cheating him. He knew that they were close, assumed that he had known her even if he had not known how long. Yuki clenched his teeth, and did not criticize her. If he did, for all he knew she would refuse to provide anything further. He dropped to the earth, landing lightly on his feet. She mocked him, no doubt trying to get him to use something stronger against her. And it was working. He tossed Aisuru's blade carelessly aside, there was no need for it, at least not for this attack. He outstretched one arm at his side, slowly moving it in an arch-like motion in front of him. Then, he'd made the gesture again in the opposite direction, swiftly, and half a dozen small rods of ice formed in the very air at his whim, immediately to be sent speeding toward the woman above him. Inu-Mitsu How ironic that he would use the same attack. The same attack his father had used against her all those years ago. Acting quickly she drew her arm in front of her fire escaping her fingertips. In one gentle swoop the ground became ablaze of heat roaring upward to form a wall in front of her. Most of the ice melted on contact but a couple made it through, one in which embedded deep in her arm. She didn't give much reaction to it as the fire vanished as if easily snuffed out by the wind. Her eyes were focused on Yuki knowing he was awaiting an answer of some sort. Reaching up she took hold of the ice rod jutting out of her upper arm and slowly wrenched it free throwing it to the ground. Dark red began to freely run down her arm though it was hardly visible beyond her black sleeves. "You lived together for a time, a decent walk from a nearby village. A small hole in the wall for the humans that lived there. You lived in a small cottage away from it all deep in the woods. When Kioko died it was spring time after the flowers were fully in bloom." She surprised herself at the small details she remembered. Though that memory was still so fresh in her mind. If asked she could have told him the kinds of trees that were nearby, the smell of the air, the temperature, even what he had been wearing. But that may have been too much information that would have let him know she was there. Instead of continuing with her story she took to the air again. Her arm was damaged so it wouldn't be of much use, not that it mattered to her. This is what she wanted. To drown out the sorrow with pain, to fill the void she had with blood, and maybe...just maybe forget that she had wronged him. That's why she wasn't putting up much of a fight...she wanted his attacks to hit there mark but she wanted more than just these puny wounds. She had yet to reach true agonizing pain. "Come on pretty boy," Aisuru mocked trying her best to put a smile on that Xelloss would be proud of. Hitsuzen His attack had worked, and this time he gained a little more information. Useful this time. As he had hoped, her words helped to bring into light a few more of the memories he could only vaguely recall. He could remember the village, he could visualize it nestled there in the valley. He could see the landscape, the buildings... The people. The humans, they had all seemed so... Accepting. Smiling faces and kind words. Yuki smiled lightly for a second, but it slowly faded a bit. As happy as he remembered those people, he knew in his gut that it hadn't lasted. "Did they accept me knowingly?" He questioned while looking up to Aisuru, momentarily forgetting just how rude she was being about all of this. He seemed to realize it as soon as he'd said it, and shifted his gaze to the ground. Lost in his thoughts, he didn't act on Aisuru's mocking. "I... Remember them." He murmured, and even though it was truth he could still only recall the good times. He quietly wondered if there was a need to continue seeking answers... If they would destroy these peaceful, pleasant images, what would it do to him? After all, for a little while, what memories Aisuru had sparked to life had eased his mind... For now. Inu-Mitsu And there he was doing it again, denying her the only comfort she knew. A small chuckle arose from her throat when he asked if they openly accepted him knowing what he was. Seeing his mood had changed she levitated back to the ground and approached him to be sure that he heard the words she was about to speak clearly. "Those ignorant humans knew just about as much of you as Kioko did, which was nothing." She almost hissed. "You want more information, I'll give you more. Your existence with her was a lie. If she would have know what you were she never would have excepted you. In the end, the villagers didn't. The moment they found out -" Aisuru almost choked remembering. She had been witness to some of the deeds the humans had done to Yuki and yet he hadn't fought back. Whether he had felt guilty or that it would be unfair to do so she wasn't sure, but she had been to afraid to approach him...to afraid...to help him. Hitsuzen He was trying to put order to the small collection of events in his mind. Interactions with these humans whose faces were so familiar to him. Their specific identities were still absent, but it really didn't matter right now. Certainly they would occur to him in time, right? Maybe he should leave it at this, and just think about the present for a little while. Aisuru seemed to have other things in mind, however, and he frowned when she moved up close and spoke to him again. He had expected it, really, but did it have to be worded with such cruelty? Lucky for him, he didn't gain any flashbacks this time, or else he probably would have screamed... All in due time, all in due time. 'In the end, the villagers didn't.'The words made him wonder... Had she? It was not a thought spoken aloud, for he figured that Aisuru would not know the answer, but even if she had he doubted he wanted to hear anything she wanted to say on the subject. "That's enough." He said firmly, looking to her when she'd cut herself off. There was something about Aisuru now, he couldn't put his finger on it... Was this really sadness he sensed from her? Certainly it couldn't be. He stared at her quietly, "Why would you do this?" There was no clarification, whether it was a question of why she was asking him to harm her, her not-so-willingness to refresh his missing memories, or something much simpler than that. Something just seemed... Different. Within his 'new' life, he'd never seen her this way. Inu-Mitsu When Yuki finished off her sentence telling her that was enough, she stared at him blankly for a moment wondering if he was going to continue with their little dance. But another blow never came, instead only a question. A simple little question that Aisuru didn't have the answer to. 'Why would you do this?'Why would she? That was a good question. As soon as she began to think about it all the conflicting emotions that she had felt before washed over her. The rage, sadness, jealousy, hate....love. So many feelings she had hoped to forget. Those emotions welled up threatening to pour out in a breakdown but Aisuru forced them back down in one hard swallow. "I'm a demon....what other reason do I need?" She tried her best to look emotionless but it failed to some extent. Hitsuzen That wasn't..." He began, and trailed off quickly. Really, that wasn't what he had meant, but was there much use in expecting anything other than an answer given through twisting his words around into something that he hadn't intended? "Yeah, I guess you're right, Aisuru." "You're all the same." Inu-Mitsu That little phrase that Yuki ended with, four little words of pure pain. If it had been an actual weapon Aisuru would have been down for the count unable to comprehend what had happened, though being upright and unable to comprehend wasn't much different. At first, there was that sadness again, an emotion that confused and also sickened Aisuru. It was more enjoyable when it was someone else's pain. Then there was white hot anger. Anger so powerful it made Aisuru clench her teeth in fear that she might explode. "You're all the same?" Stepping closer still Aisuru made to pointedly jab Yuki in the chest with a finger as she got up in his face. "You speak as if you're any different than I am. Do you think you're better? A saint perhaps? No! You are a Mazoku, born of blood and sin!" She was a little to into this speech as she stared up at Yuki her eyes ablaze with fury. "There is blood on your hands just like the rest of us." She hissed her silver eyes scanning his features her anger overtaking her mind causing her not to think her words through clearly. Taking a step back again she lowered her gaze taking some of the intensity with them. "If only Kioko would have know the true you, OH, but that's right." Aisuru chuckled lightly as if there was a joke in there somewhere as she raised her hands up in a shrug. "She died before she got the chance. I guess she lucked out." Hitsuzen At first, Yuki didn't say anything. He only stood and stared back into her eyes. As she rambled on, he only succeeded to look more and more angry. He knew what he was, this was not news to him. Blood on his hands? She must have meant Kioko... He was supposed to protect her, and in failing to do so could she mean to suggest that he just as much had a hand in it? Well, he couldn't disagree, but having her shouting it at him didn't make it easy to say so. But then she'd spoken of Kioko directly, and Yuki stared at her in shocked disbelief. That was even before she'd declared that the girl had been lucky, for that itself gained its own response; A strong strike at her jaw with the back of his hand. Inu-Mitsu After Yuki's hand made contact Aisuru's head whipped violently to the side. Her eyes were wide as if shocked but she knew full well she had egged him on. That's what she had been trying to do. Lowering her head a bit so her eyes were not visible passed her bangs, she turned back toward Yuki. She didn't want to let him see the tears in her eyes, she had to make him realize his fault in liking humans...even if he hated her in the end. Head still lowered she placed a hand on her reddened cheek a wicked grin crossing her lips. "So...hearing about her is a touchy area I see." The word 'her' left Aisuru's lips as if she were talking about something vial. "That wretched little peasant girl. Perfect in every way except for being able to stay alive." Slowly Aisuru lowered her hand to her side, her focus still on the ground just above her feet. Every sentence that left her mouth, every word...was one more nail in the coffin. Why did she....have feelings for this pitiful soul? It would have been better.....if they had never known one another. Hurt him. "I don't know how you even tolerated her existence, that filthy mortal b***h." Hitsuzen There was a strange sense of deja vu when he'd stuck her, but he only pushed that thought aside. He didn't care, if he'd hit her in the past, it could have only been because she deserved it. She deserved it now. He stared at her, the anger plain on his face. She'd fallen silent, and maybe she'd stay that way. Realize what she had said was out of line, and not add anything more. Fat chance. For awhile, it was as though each word stunned him. He spoke no words of protest, only looking more hurt with each cruel jab. He tried to block it out, though when he'd shut his eyes he could only see the image of the woman that Aisuru was insulting. Tears prickled at the corners of his eyes, he shut them tighter to try and stop them, but it would be of no use. Somehow, the vision of Kioko saddened him just as much as Aisuru's horrible words about her. They weren't true. Kioko had been strong, beautiful, innocent... "That filthy mortal b***h ."Yuki's eyes shot open, and one of his hands found her neck quicker than he could realize what he was doing. Even then, though, it did not stop him. Fingers closed around her throat to silence her, though his grip was still just slack enough to allow her to breathe, and in result speak if not with some difficulty. At this point, however, he didn't want to hear anymore, and anything she tried to say would doubtlessly only result in him squeezing harder. "I won't let you." He hissed, "I won't let you say those things about my Kioko." His Kioko? He hadn't even realized he had said it. The tears he'd tried to suppress brimmed in his eyes, a few making a pronounced trail down his cheeks. "You speak nothing but lies... You take them back..." A weak voice for such a serious demand, and he apparently realized this. He repeated himself, and this time he shouted, "Take them back!" Inu-Mitsu Having not been looking Aisuru was caught off guard as Yuki wrapped his hand around her slender neck. She let out a bit of a gasp but avoided turning her gaze up to meet his. Even without looking she could tell he was crying, she could feel the hot tears streaming down his cheeks even if they didn't touch her. You brought his upon yourself. Taking hold of the wrist attached to the hand around her throat Aisuru bared her teeth like a cornered animal. "Why don't you make me," Aisuru hissed though her words were strained from the pressure on her vocal cords. Deciding not to stand idle any longer Aisuru brought up her other hand, the claws on each finger lengthening to some degree. Lashing out she attempted to swipe at his chest though her strike was shallow enough to do more damage to his shirt than to him. It was more a manner of threatening than anything else. She didn't want to hurt him physically....only emotional. Or...was that what she really wanted? Her thoughts were so confused at this point it only pissed her off all the more. "Besides, didn't you want to know about your wench? The little human slu-" Aisuru choked as Yuki's grip tightened around her throat forcing her to be silent. Hitsuzen She lashed out, and he did not move. The material of Yuki's shirt ripped easily, thin as it was. He only grunted lightly as her nails raked over the skin beneath, minimal as the damage might have been, the small scratches left behind drew blood. Thick, black, inhuman blood that seeped slowly to the surface. He made an attempt to grab her wrist with his free hand, firmly to hopefully avoid a second attempt. "You can't hurt me, Aisuru." He said, "You know that." As far as physical wounds were concerned, anyway. He knew well enough that her harsh words would only continue, and his grip around her neck had tightened. "Your words are of no use to me." His gaze had become more serious now, "If you're not going to help me... Don't speak." As he uttered those final two words, the palm of his hand began to grow very, very cold against the front of her throat. Inu-Mitsu Now Aisuru was completely tied up. One hand had a firm hold of Yuki's wrist to try in any way to relieve the pressure around her neck and her other hand was held fast by his. As his grip around her throat tightened once again she let out a gasp feeling his touch turn as cold as ice. This seemed like an oddly similar scenario but it hadn't been Yuki...it had been Dynast. Was that who she was driving him to be like? Or end the end...was that who he truly was? "She was..." Aisuru croaked as her vocal cords began to constrict from the cold. Finally she turned her gaze upward the tears that had threatened to fall still lingering in her eyes. "Your wife." Her voice was barely a whisper as she had just managed to speak before being silenced. Hitsuzen There was something strangely satisfying about this. How he'd so easily overpowered her. How he'd so quickly become the one in control. Yuki wanted Aisuru to regret tormenting him, taking what weakness she had found and digging away at them like rubbing salt into an open wound. Aisuru had tried to speak again, and he almost scowled at her. Convinced that she wished only to continue her slander, it threw him off a bit to see her on the brink of tears when she looked up at him. Confusion was etched on his face for a second or two, and he hadn't much time to think about it before she had added those final words. The identity of the woman in his dreams. Kioko. His Kioko... His.. Wife. Just as quickly as it had come, his hostility was gone. He blanched, his eyes growing wide. He seemed to stare at Aisuru, though once he'd gently released his grip on her he'd lowered his head a bit, that same distant stare on his face. He didn't look up to Aisuru again, nor did he say a word. He took one, slow step backward, and vanished. ----- A second later, he was home. In his own room, surrounded by silence, aside from what thoughts and memories were competing for attention within his head. How? If Aisuru spoke the truth, how could he forget who Kioko had been to him? And why...? Yuki moved to the side of his bed and sat, burying his face in his hands. He gave a muffled groan of frustration, rubbing at his eyes to wipe away the old tears and those threatening to flow now. If he really had forgotten his own wife, what kind of horrible creature did that make him?

Inu-Mitsu As Yuki released his grip, so did Aisuru. She let one hand drop to her side while the other caressed her cold throat. The news of who Kioko was went as well as she thought it would. Yuki seemed stunned, shocked, confused, and in an instant he was gone. Just like him to run away. Tired Aisuru dropped to her knees, she wasn't so much physically tired as emotionally. Here would be as good a place as any to rest for the time being. So with that in mind she laid down flat and closed her eyes. Back home Neko and Vash were beginning to wonder when Yuki and Mitsu would return. "They've been gone for a while haven't they?" Vash asked. Neko only nodded as he leaned back in his chair. He was a little anxious but he wasn't going the let that show. "Maybe we just haven't seen them come in?" "Idiot, we're in the room right next to the front door," Neko hissed. "Between the two of us we couldn't have missed them coming in." Hitsuzen Sitting had only lasted a handful of seconds, Yuki was soon on his feet and pacing the floor of his room like a caged animal. Fighting to remember the fine details of the village and people there that he'd recalled glimpses of before Aisuru's words had grown horrible and hurtful. The longer he struggled to remember, the more his head began to throb. It infuriated him, knowing that these memories could return to him at any given moment, drawn out by coincidental reminders or the words of others... And his dreams. He stopped, and stared at the wall. Hadn't that been the very reason he'd been resisting sleep like this? Every time he awakened he'd recalled more than when he'd laid down. If he tried to sleep, would it... Help? The way Aisuru had spoken of her, everything he knew to be lies... He wanted to seek the truth, and it seemed the only way. Though, something else was bugging him, nagging in the back of his mind. He felt that he had forgotten something very important, but what that was he could not determine. Inu-Mitsu Hours after the fact two figures made their way down the main street toward Hitsu's house. They appeared to be casually walking and for all intensive purposes that's how it would remain. A few more silent foot steps and they were finally at the walkway that led up to the house. "So, this is the place you call home now," Suto looked up at the mansion of a house and smile. "It's no different than where you lived before." Turning to Mitsu he tried to look at her face though it was hard with her focused on her feet. "I'll leave you here, I trust you can find your way." Smiling he reached down and took Mitsu's jaw in his hand and forced her head around so she could look him in the eye. Her eyes were red and her cheeks were still stained with the tears from earlier. "We will meet again, my pet. Trust me on that." With that said Suto dropped Mitsu's face and left her to find the rest of the way home. He added a casual wave as he left quickly disappearing down the street. Mitsu only watched the man leave, her eyes rather dull and her face blanched pale. The last couple of hours were like reliving the nightmares she had at night. But it was real, it was all real. Taking in a few unsteady breaths she finally headed toward the house and as quietly as possible entered the front door. As soon as the door clicked closed behind her there were two familiar faces there to greet her. "There you are, we were worried," Vash stated stepping up beside Mitsu. He tried to look at her face but she avoided looking up. "Where is the dead beat?" No doubt Neko meant Yuki but he didn't bother to say his name. "Yuki isn't a dead beat," Mitsu said softly. Despite being left behind she wasn't mad, quite the opposite. She was worried. "Well, where is Yuki then?" Neko retorted still wanting an answer. "He uhh," Mitsu tried to think of a good answer but nothing came to mind right off the top of her head. "He left you didn't he?" Neko asked firmly taking hold of Mitsu's arm. "Tell me the truth." Rubbing at her eyes Mitsu finally looked up toward Neko which caused him to take a step back as soon as he saw her face. She had been crying and crying a lot. This was all Yuki's fault. Dropping Mitsu's arm Neko left to search for Yuki figuring that starting with his room would be a good choice. "What happened Mitsu?" Vash being the more compassionate of the two stepped up and wrapped his arms around Mitsu's shoulders. Feeling the urge to cry all over again Mitsu just buried her face in his coat trying to become as small as possible. "YUKI!" Neko was screaming before he had even reached his room. He was mad, no one made Mitsu cry. "YUKI!" Stepping up to his door he took his fist and pounded on it yelling again at the top of his lungs. "Get out here you b*****d!" Hitsuzen Neko's screaming could have very well awakened the dead. Yuki jerked awake in a cold sweat, sitting straight up with a startled gasp. Not long after he'd contemplated sleep, he'd laid down to do just that. His dreams had not been kind, but typically when he woke up everything around him was quiet and peaceful... Not today. He heard Neko shouting his name again, and shortly after there was a hard pounding on his door. Yuki rolled out of bed, nearly crashing to the floor in the process. He staggered once on his feet, making his way slowly to the door. "WHAT!?" He finally managed to bellow, trying to figure out why on earth Neko would have sounded so pissed off at him for some reason. And then it finally hit him, "Oh... Oh, s**t." When he opened the door, he was already white in the face. He looked wide-eyed at Neko, processed he was alone in the hallway within a split second, and immediately worried only about where Mitsu was. Was he angry because he didn't know where Mitsu was? How did Neko even know that he had been here when he hadn't tried to make himself known? Inu-Mitsu Neko was almost ready to move on until he heard Yuki's voice ring out from behind the door. Anger swelled up inside him and just as soon as Yuki opened the door Neko reached out to grab hold of his shirt. "So you are here, you a*****e. Why the hell did you leave Mitsu by herself?" The anger was very apparent in Neko's expression, his teeth clenched so hard he thought his gums might bleed. "Are you going to tell me what happened?" Vash asked again looking down at the top of Mitsu's head. "I was just scared by myself," Mitsu said softly though that didn't sound very convincing. Shortly after she heard Neko screaming at Yuki and was worried about what was going on. "Neko?" Pushing away from Vash she looked down the hall toward where Neko had disappeared. "Come on, lets make sure there is no blood shed, Daphne would have a fit," Vash said calmly ushering Mitsu along beside him. He would try to question her later after everything was calm and she was no longer upset. Hitsuzen To say that Yuki felt cornered wouldn't be far from the truth. Neko grabbed hold of him, and Yuki took hold of his wrist, though weakly for the time being. He was actually half shocked that a fist hadn't come flying at him, Neko certainly sounded angry enough to start throwing punches... He wouldn't have blamed him, Yuki would feel the same way had this scenario been flipped, and if it had been his sister left alone somewhere instead of Mitsu. "I-I... I didn't mean to!" He defended, but didn't get any farther than that. What was he supposed to say? Any of the truths that came to mind would only raise more questions, over things that he didn't want to talk about... Especially not in front of Neko. "Is she here?" He asked pleadingly, "Is she alright?" Inu-Mitsu "If you were concerned about her well being then you shouldn't have left her!" Neko snapped dragging Yuki forward only to throw him back. Every fiber in his being wanted to give Yuki a lesson and pound it into that scrawny face of his. Unconsciously his hands began to ball into fists as the anger boiled up and threatened to spill over. A flash of Mitsu's teary eyes crossed Neko's mind and that was all it took. "No one makes Mitsu cry," Neko growled as he lunged forward ready to strike, fist after fist aiming to hit anything it could reach. They had just come around the corner in time to see Neko throw Yuki back. Vash didn't think much of it until it didn't end there. "s**t...Neko!" He rushed forward in an attempt to help subdue Neko leaving Mitsu to stand back in horror and watch. Hitsuzen The surprise that Neko wasn't going to attack him was short lived, in what felt like mere seconds just that came to pass. Yuki didn't have time to try and think of a response, for Neko shoved him backward and he nearly fell flat back into the room he'd been hiding in. He caught his balance, though just as he could look up toward Neko, he was drawing swiftly closer with a murderous look in his eyes. The very first punch caught him hard across the jaw, sending his head reeling to try and process what had just happened. It didn't end there, and Yuki wasn't able to determine what part of himself to try and shield with his arms, as Neko always caught something that he'd left open for attack and driven one of his fists into it. He opened his mouth to speak, likely to beg for the beating to cease, but another punch caught him in the gut. Yuki doubled over and gasped for air, choking on it and the blood collecting in his throat from all of the abuse. Some of it came up, and dripped onto the floor at his feet. Inu-Mitsu "Neko!" Vash was a bit to late to prevent any harm from being done but he could at least put a stop to it. Advancing on Neko he wrapped his arms under the feline's and drug him to his feet. All the while Neko ignored the fact that he was being pulled upright and kept swinging punches even if the last few hit nothing but air. "You mindless self centered a*****e, What the ******** were you thinking?!" Neko hissed still struggling to get free to continue his abuse. If he had only know who Mitsu had met and that she truly hadn't been alone Neko would have wished that she had been. Silently Mitsu finally came forward though she didn't say anything to Neko or Vash. Her first stop was Yuki as she knelt down beside him. Her eyes were still reddened though the tear stains had been wiped away. "...A...are you alright?" She asked softly. At first she reached out to touch his shoulder but a sudden fearful impulse hit her and she retracted her hands clasping them at her chest. Hitsuzen It took Yuki a few moments to catch his breath, in which he carefully lowered himself to his knees. He coughed up, and spat out, what blood had still remained. He had deserved it, for forgetting about Mitsu as he had. As far as he was concerned... And as far as Neko was concerned, though without Vash there to pry him away Yuki wasn't so sure Neko would have stopped until long after he'd lost consciousness. Even now, he felt a bit light headed. Neko's demand gained no response, Yuki only remained bent over clutching his aching stomach. He didn't want to look at Neko in the eye, and there wasn't anything that he could say to make the situation any better. He caught glimpse of movement from the corner of his eye, and it was soon confirmed as Mitsu. He shook his head, and his answer was barely audible; "No..." Because of Neko? Not entirely. Though, he couldn't deny that the discomfort didn't succeed to make his day so far even worse. "I'm sorry, Mitsu." He murmured. He hadn't looked up to her, but he could sense her fear. Had it been toward him? The very thought of it only added to his pain. "I'm so sorry..." Inu-Mitsu "Get away from him Mitsu! That b*****d doesn't deserve your concern," In the mean time Neko was still struggling to get free. "Let go of me you tall broom-headed freak." "That's so cold," Vash whined as if genuinely hurt though he failed to follow Neko's commands. "I'll show you cold if you don't let me go!" Neko tried to tug at his arms again but sadly Vash was a bit stronger than him. Okay...a lot stronger than him. "I said get away from him Mitsu!" Mitsu, like Vash, had ignored Neko's commands and still sat next to Yuki on the floor. She looked at him worried about what had happened when he left with the purple-haired girl. "It's okay, Yuki. I was...scared but I'm okay." Was she really though? It felt like a lie as soon as she spoke it. Despite the fact that the man named Suto had done nothing to her beyond talking the things he had told her. The things he blamed her for. Some were a confirmation of her nightmares others were old wounds she had yet to remember. Her mother....was she the reason she was gone too? "I SAID-!" Neko's demand only partially left his mouth before the stress over came Mitsu and she turned on him tears of anger streaking down her face. "SHUT UP!" She had yelled it loud enough for the entire household to hear but it did its job in silencing Neko. He stopped his struggles and only looked at Mitsu shocked that she had just yelled at him. She never yelled, never got mad...at anyone. Vash stood just as shocked but thanked his lucky stars he was not on the receiving end of that cold stare she was giving Neko. Feeling the feline relax Vash finally released his hold and was glad to find that Neko seemed to be done with wanting to pound on Yuki. He seemed done with everything really, he looked as though he couldn't even think of anything to say. Hitsuzen Still no response to Neko's words, though the more the feline shouted at him, the stronger the urge to do something about it. However, in this case, it probably would have simply been to run. He didn't even know where he'd go... It was a relief that Mitsu assured him that she was alright, though even still he could pick up on the fact that she wasn't positive with her own answer. She was lying to him, so that he didn't need to feel guilty, and in turn he only felt like more of a jackass for leaving her there. He actually flinched when Neko and Mitsu gave their final shouts, grimacing as his head gave a lovely reminder that it wasn't quite finished hurting yet. The punching helped, of course. The silence thereafter was awkward, excruciating in a way. For a long while he just continued to stare at the floor, waiting for them to grow annoyed with his useless presence and leave. But they did not, and Mitsu was still there next to him. "Why are you defending me?" He finally asked quietly, looking up to Mitsu, then toward Vash. After witnessing what Vash had done to Dynast all of those months ago, why wouldn't he want to participate in making Yuki regret that he'd harmed Mitsu in some way? "He's... Right. Isn't he?" And then, a familiar voice called out from down the hall. "What's going on?" It was Hitsu, and she was drawing nearer, concern obvious in her tone. Apparently, the noise had not gone ignored by everyone. Yuki's eyes grew wide, and he suddenly looked terrified. His breathing quickened, and he was on his feet as quickly as he could manage, though shaky once he got there. "No." He whispered hastily, "Don't let her in here... She can't see me like this." Again, his definition of 'like this' probably was not what they thought it to be. Right now, there was no way he could fake a smile and pretend nothing was wrong... No, too much had happened today to allow it. She'd be drilling him with questions, and she wouldn't give up he was sure... He didn't want to upset her. He turned his fearful gaze toward Mitsu, praying that she would understand. She was the only one who could, really. Inu-Mitsu "One mistake doesn't change everything," Mitsu said quietly looking at Yuki as he questioned them all. Vash seemed to have the same feelings on the matter. As long as Mitsu wasn't physically harmed everything would be alright, at least that's what he thought. Neko on the other hand still didn't know how to process being yelled at but before he could open his mouth to try and say anything Hitsu called out from down the hall. 'She can't see me like this.'Mitsu had turned to see Hitsu coming but quickly looked back to Yuki. The fear was very evident that he did not want Hitsu to see him right now. Giving a soft nod Mitsu wiped some of the tears from her eyes as she stood to her feet and headed toward Hitsu. "Everything is alright," She called as she quickly approached to cut Hitsu off. "I tripped on the carpet and hit my head but I'm alright." Mitsu rubbed the side of her head as if trying to make a show of being hurt. "I think I might need some ice." Hitsuzen One mistake? In Mitsu's case, he supposed... But the tally of 'stupid s**t Yuki has done' was piling up faster than he could keep count. When Mitsu caught his glance and left the room, Yuki heaved a heavy sigh. He was grateful, but the fact that she still wanted to help him after this made him feel guilty. Blindly groping around behind him, Yuki took hold of the edge of his desk and put a shaking hand over his face. Was he... Crying? Yuki barely stayed in his spot for a couple of seconds, before he vanished. ----- Hitsu had stopped in her tracks when Mitsu had appeared, looking concerned. "Are you sure?" She asked at first, when the girl had mentioned that she was alright. The request for ice, though, received a nod. "Okay, we'll go and get some." She turned to head toward the kitchen, figuring that Mitsu would follow. "How'd you end up doing that, anyway?" Inu-Mitsu Neko shook his head after the situation finally settled in. "She's even lying for the b*****d," He hissed under his breath. "Let it go," Vash said softly. "Mitsu is alright she's just a little upset." "No," Neko shook his head and looked back to face Yuki but he had already gone. "It was more than that...something happened." Neko couldn't put his finger on it but there was something more to Mitsu's fear. It wasn't just from being left alone. Watching the two girls leave Neko rubbed the back of his head defeated. "Heeh, I guess I have no choice at the moment." For now he would let it go, there wasn't much else he could do.

Guide Characters Blackie Draven Count D Yuki
Took Place Over PM; Moved to Guild
Kesmi Only god knows how long it had been since she had last fled from the Count's shop when Yuki collapsed and she was afraid that he blamed her for what happened. Blackie was considerably bigger then the last visit and this time she was carried into the shop. She had begun to feel crappy in the night and didn't really wake anyone, but the raven. He was always the light sleeper and probably the only one she trusted to still keep this secret.
"Draven, Draven. Are you awake?" she had asked him not too long before he carried her quite hastily back to Count's shop. All the way cursing at her for waiting this long before doing something. The Raven hadn't been asleep long before Blackie had come into his room and started poking him. She didn't look good and he suspected why. She was heavy with child and he doubted that she could even care for them on her own and would leave it for someone else to care for. But he roused and pulled on a shirt and pair of pants over his shorts.
"Why did you wait this long?" He had asked while getting dressed, she didn't reply as he picked her up in his arms and leaped out the bay windows of his room.
Setting his bare feet down upon the chilly cobble stoned walk way and stepped over to the door of the Count's little shop. Releasing the now groaning Blackie a little he wrapped on the door as hard as he could, hoping to wake the Count. But really he didn't want to wake anyone else, but he knew of no one else to got to with Blackie as she was after all. Not entirely human.
"Come on, I doubt he would leave at this hour of he night." Draven muttered under his breath as he looked at Blackie who looked ready to hit something out of pain.Shaking her head, Blackie had closed her eyes quite tightly as the cramps had started to grow. If this was apart of childbirth... She didn't want to go through it again after this one was born. Minimal pain she could take, but this was the feeling that she was dying. Even the banging that Draven was doing to wake the Count was making her head throb, if she lived through this, someone else wasn't... Hitsuzen Considering the type of establishment that the Count ran, frantic phone calls and visits were far from uncommon. He'd awakened to the sound of someone pounding on the doors, and once D had covered his nighttime attire with a more suitable silk robe he went to the door. "Yes, yes." He called, though quietly, as he neared it. "I'm coming, just a moment."
The thought of unwelcome guests never seemed to cross his mind. Though, even if they had been it wouldn't have mattered. The animals here knew fully well how to take care of themselves and their Count D.
Once he had unlocked and opened the door, he was met with the sight of Draven, then Blackie in short succession. There was no need to ask why they had come here, he already knew. He stepped aside and gestures them inside. "Bring her to one of the back rooms, Draven." He instructed, lingering behind afterward only long enough to secure the door once more. Kesmi Draven stopped pounding on the shop’s door as he noticed the Count coming, it was an ungodly hour, but there wasn’t time to ‘wait’ for morning to come. When the door was opened and they were pretty much ushered in. Draven didn’t stop once he was inside, long strides carried him into the back and toward one of the back rooms. Laying her down on the bed, he looked back toward the door that he had left open for the moment, to show pretty much where they had gone.
“I should have gotten her here sooner, but Blackie is the type to speak up when it’s pretty much too late. Or close to it.” Draven muttered as he backed away from the scowling spider.Blackie hissed lowly at Draven as he laid her down gently, but it didn’t seen like it was gentle enough. She barely even looked at the Count when he told them to come in and instructed him to take her to one of the back rooms. If she had known it would have been this much grief she would have just had the little ‘brats’ to home and not told anyone. Cringing as pain swept over her again, she rethought that one and closed her eyes tightly. Gritting her teeth, her hands balled into fists, she did look ready to kill, even if it wasn’t her intent.
“When I see Yuki again, I will tell him to keep to himself.” she hissed shaking her head, hair sticking out everywhere as if she were having a bad hair day. “I swear I will.”Draven only watched Blackie from where he was standing, sure that he was going to have to leave. Personally he would have preferred it, but had a feeling that he would be needed for… Something. Wings folding to his back, Draven looked toward the Count, wondering just what the heck was happening, besides child birth. This was all over his head, had he been someone else… Then maybe he would have understood, but he was a single guy and he knew nothing of children. Shesh, he didn’t much know about girls all that much and from Blackie’s temperament, he didn’t know if he wanted to know about them.
“If you need me, I‘ll be out side…” He said edging toward the door. Hitsuzen How long ago had it been? Count D was working the calculations in his mind, and it seemed as though the pregnancy had been rather short. Likely, this was a sign that the offspring would grow swiftly. Unless something had gone wrong, to send her into labor too early.
The Count crossed the threshold and shut the door behind them gently, as though figuring that what was about to occur wouldn't likely wake every living thing within these walls. "Deep breaths, Blackie." He instructed. "Shouldn't be long, now." From the looks of her, now that she was in the light, he had no doubts that the fetus was fully developed.
Draven made his retreat for the door, and Count D called after him. "Blankets," He said, "And warm water. Fetch them for us, please."
As soon as the raven had shut the door behind him, D returned his attention to Blackie. "Don't worry about that just now, you've got work to do..." Kesmi Draven nodded at the Count's request, really he wanted to go and find this Yuki and make him be there to help with all this. Why was it that the noble Raven had to be the one stuck with all this trouble? Shaking his head and pulling his hair back to tie it with a black cord of leather, he headed off to fetch the water and blankets. After finding them and filling a dish with warm water, he returned to the room to hear Blackie screaming and cursing. Oh she wasn't in the best of sorts, then again who could blame her? Setting the things down, he retreated again, not wanting to be the one on the other 'end' of the threats that spewed from her lips... Some how pitying this Yuki now and for when he had to face her after this ordeal.Blackie had propped herself up on her elbows to watch the raven leave the room. She sneered as he left before looking back at the Count. If this didn't make her temper flare, who knew what would. Snorting at the Count she flopped back onto the bed and glanced toward the ceiling.
"If I make it out of this, Yuki will be the one to feel the pain." She muttered beneath her breath. "So lets just get all this over with before I start tearing heads."----- Exhausted and ready to just collapse in the nearest shadowed corner, Blackie covered her ears against the wails of those she had brought into the world. Her shadowed eyes darker then normal as she tried to block out the kids crying to be fed, really she didn't even know what they would want. Being that there had never been a pairing like herself and Yuki before... Just for now, Blackie wanted to be left alone in a quite, dark room so she could sleep and wake up to find this all just one huge nightmare... Highly unlikely though. Hitsuzen The Count had not agreed with her complaints, nor tried to correct her on them. Yuki, he was certain, regretted his foolishness in all of this. If he didn't, D knew that there was more to come... Certainly, the boy did not think that he would get out of this without taking responsibility for his actions. While he knew not which of them was truly to blame for the end result, as far as he was concerned their work would be equal. It would be selfish, if Yuki expected Blackie to raise their child alone. The shop owner's formulated plans, however, were thrown off balance as the birthing process concluded...
There were two.
"They are doing well." It wasn't until the air of the room had calmed, a few minutes after both newborns had been cleaned up and wrapped in the warmth of the soft cloth that Draven had fetched, laid gently upon each side of their mothers' chest for their first real meeting. Of course, Count D expected the mother to bond with her offspring... The father, that would be the challenge.
"I will leave you to your privacy." He softly stated a moment later, quietly letting himself out of the room with intent to return to the entry room. A phone call was in order, and the hour made no difference. Kesmi Blackie, though already half a sleep from all this, she was sure she could try and get a LITTLE bit of sleep before being given her kids, wrong. Opening an already shadowed blue eye, she glanced at the kids. A little girl and a little boy, well, she was sure that they would get long great with their father when he looked after them. Shifting a little, she set the kids down, both wailing to be held again, she sneered at them for a moment before picking one up while she went to work making small basket like structures to put them in out of her own webbing. Minding to not lace it with sticky stuff that she used to catch her prey with... When one was completed she placed her daughter in it and gave the web structure a gentle push to set it swinging and the young child slowly went to sleep. She created another on the other side of her bed for her son and placed him within it. With both kids tucked into their small baskets and swinging gently, she laid back down and closed her eyes. Yuki was going to have a lot of things to make up for...
Wrapping herself up in a clean blanket, Blackie didn't really get that good of a sleep as the infants started crying the minute their baskets stopped swinging and wouldn't stop when they were swinging once again. She would never be a good parent at this rate, getting up she lifted each one out of their baskets and held them close, thinking that they were most likely hungry, she would be too if she were just brought into the world...Lounging outside the door, Draven's head was bent downwards, his black hair covering his pale face, wings at his back drooped a little. His arms were crossed over his chest that rose and fell gently as he seemed to have fallen asleep standing there waiting. When the Count left Blackie's room, Draven awoke with a bit of a start, apparently he had slept through the noise that was coming from the infants as they did wail of course when being born and taking in air for the first time. Turning he looked toward the Count, though didn't really move aside from stretching.
"So how is she?" he asked finally, though the Count was already quite the distance away from him. Draven would have taken a peek into Blackie's room, but he didn't want to get things thrown at him for being rude. That was for the father of the kids to have happen to him... He was sure that The guy would be surprised and wanting out... But not if Draven had a word in all this. Hitsuzen "She is well, and the children appear to be healthy." The answer to Draven was slightly hushed, as not to be overheard by Blackie. He wished not to disturb her rest, unaware of just how difficult said rest would come. A pale hand gestured the raven to follow him down the hallway and away from Blackie's temporary room. "You should go home, Draven. Get some rest. Return in the morning. Blackie will remain here for tonight, and if there are no new developments in the night she can return home with you tomorrow."
Once within the lobby of the shop, Count D directed Draven toward the door. "It would be best if you weren't here when he arrives." Just who 'he' was would surely be obvious, and the Count did not elaborate further as he stepped over to his desk and reached for the receiver.
This RP is still in progress...

Guide Characters Yuki Aisuru Various Housemates
Took Place Over PM
Hitsuzen Within these early hours of the morning, the house was usually silent. Most were sleeping, and those who weren't did well enough at keeping themselves in their own rooms and quiet until it was reasonable to assume that preparations for breakfast would be soon to come. A few, dim lights were left on in various rooms of the large home, though realistically next to no one within the house would have had much trouble navigating their way around in the dark.
It was the barely lit den where a sudden movement occurred, a lone figure materializing in the middle of the room without so much as a warning. Yuki clenched his fists in anger, eyes already bloodshot from tears of anger and guilt. He hadn't looked to see if anyone else was there, his gaze locked on one of the small end tables so furiously that had he the will it would have burst into splinters and flame in seconds.
But he couldn't act on his anger, he couldn't take out his frustration. To do so would wake the others, likely all of them at once for how loudly he wished he could scream. Yuki was actually to the point of seriously considering a visit to one particular housemate, until the realization passed that if any time were worse than others... This would be it. Blindly looking for a fight would not end well, when your opponent would grow stronger merely from your negative presence.
After several deep, steady breaths, he gained control of his anger. If only for the time being. It wasn't exactly a simple task to push aside what had just happened, what he'd just witnessed... What he had only himself to blame for, in the end. The very thoughts of what could come now reminded him of just how exhausted he really was. "What am I supposed to do now?" He murmured in barely a whisper, though whom he spoke to was not clear.
Yuki backed up a couple of steps and collapsed into an armchair, leaning forward and staring wearily at the floor. Thinking. Inu-Mitsu The house, as expected, was silent in the morning. This was when Aisuru enjoyed being in Hitsu's house the most...when no one was around. Relaxing back in the armchair she had found herself in for the past hour she placed down the book she was reading and picked up another. Despite her disinterest in human beings they surely had wide imaginations when it came to writing books.
She was only a few pages in when a sudden presence outside of her own caught her attention. Yuki had materialized out of no where and seemed to be barely containing himself from yelling out for the world to hear. Quietly she watched as he regained his composure and finally took a seat in a chair not far off asking a question she was sure was directed at no one.
Turning back to her book Aisuru flipped another page and continued to read. "Do about what?" She asked rather flatly. Rarely did she ever talk to Yuki anymore and when she did it often ended in the worst of ways. Not that she wasn't partially if not completely to blame for that. But what the hell, why not give it another go? Hitsuzen He was so distracted with his own worries and frustration, Yuki hadn't even fully glanced around upon arrival. To say that Aisuru startled him might have been putting it lightly. He gave a jolt, wide eyes darting over to her quickly. What fearful expression Yuki had shown vanished in barely a second, masked with a scowl.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He muttered, "Hitsu will be asleep for at least another four hours."
That was the only excuse he'd allow her in visiting; To see Hitsu. Yuki's sister knew little of the negative feelings between he and Aisuru, and as far as he was concerned he only had to keep up the facade of friendliness toward the demon when Hitsu was present.
As he continued to watch her, Yuki glimpsed the title of her book and snorted. He knew Hitsu was prone to reading the trash with the naive idea that romance really worked such ways, but Aisuru? They very thought... "Why do you bother? Even I know those are full of lies, and I have a heart." Inu-Mitsu Aisuru looked up from her book again, she had failed to notice his shocked expression but clearly caught the scowl. "I decided to drop in early, enjoy the house while it was quiet." To prove that fact she looked back at her book and turned yet another page. The novel seemed to catch Yuki's attention and to his next comment Aisuru wasn't sure what to say. A sharp pain pounded against her chest but it wasn't physical pain. It was hard to understand. Her eyebrows furrowed for a short moment in confusion before she closed the book and set it aside.
"Sometimes I need a good laugh," Aisuru retorted. "These foolish emotions are quite comical really. Sadness, anger....love." She chuckled lightly though it was faked all the way. "The most worthless of them all." Training her lavender eyes on Yuki's face she quirked a brow a bit. "So what has you in such a mood anyway?" Hitsuzen The thought of her being here while most of them were asleep bothered Yuki a bit, and even he didn't rightfully know why... Aside from the fact that she liked to spy on him, he'd figured that out long ago. Call it... Bad vibes. "Mmm..." He acknowledged simply, looking toward the window and focusing his sights on the few twinkling stars he could see. The bright lights of nearby Durem made it difficult to see much of anything in the night sky, but a handful of heavenly bodies still managed to shine through.
Yuki barely listened to her response to his criticism on her choice of reading, "I suppose." Comical? Hardly. He couldn't recall a time when he'd really wanted to laugh at it all... Not in the past, and not now.
Of course, when one had relationships like Yuki's, they probably wouldn't find much to laugh at, either. Assuming they weren't driven mad.
To her question, he glanced toward her but away just as quickly. To stare at her in his response would surely betray his attempt to lie. If it were even possible to fool her. "Bad dreams." Well, not really a lie... Just not entirely relevant to the matter at hand. Inu-Mitsu An unnatural laugh escaped Aisuru's throat at Yuki's response. Bad dreams? That was highly unlikely. "Maybe if you were just as heartless as I am maybe you wouldn't be having woman troubles." It was a stab in the dark really. Aisuru still knew nothing about Blackie since she rarely followed Yuki outside of the house. But something about his change in mood, Aisuru could feel it in the air. It tingled her skin like the blast of cool air on a hot day.
Standing, Aisuru collect the book she had been reading and headed for the shelf to place it back where it came. Not like she was going to read anymore, at least not while Yuki was around. "I would have thought you would have learned your lesson with Kioko, but I guess there is no helping the emotions of a foolish man." She said it so matter-of-fact as she placed the book on the shelf. Her tone was cool but she honestly didn't mean it. Living with Xellos she had learned to whip back with hurtful retorts, though often she rarely gave much thought to them. Hitsuzen Yuki had almost flinched at her laughing response, though he glared at her. He'd had more than his share of bad dreams in these past several weeks, and how could Aisuru know otherwise. He literally bit his tongue, holding back an angry retort.
Until she decided to hit a very, very touchy subject. Again.
He growled, "I won't have this argument with you again, Aisuru. You will not drag my wife's name through the dirt again." He'd grown used to referring to her as such, now... Even if it still felt a bit strange when it passed his lips. Correct, but... As though he should feel ashamed to declare it aloud. Inu-Mitsu Aisuru looked over her shoulder coolly. Wife huh? She was never sure why that word grated on her nerves but it did. "Don't make me laugh, you couldn't even remember her name at first let alone her. She must not have been that important if you can discard those memories like trash on the sidewalk." Finally she turned toward him eyes trained on his face. This seemed like it was going to turn out just like every other time.
Deep down, Aisuru was ashamed she couldn't speak more civilized to Yuki. Why couldn't she just have a normal conversation? Every time the bitterness in her heart over took her and she couldn't help but retaliate making the people around her suffer. Hitsuzen Yuki bit down onto his own tongue harder, still fighting the urge to shout at her. Her second statement... Made it very difficult. He knew full well that if he let loose the profanities right on the tip of his bleeding tongue, he'd wake half the household.
And if one of those awakened was the kid, he'd certainly finish waking the other half.
When Aisuru met his gaze, it was like she was urging him to react. Be it her intention or not, she always had that arrogant glance. The Mazoku always knew what words would hurt the most, and she always seemed to dare him to challenge them. Ever since all of this confusion had begun, since the night he met Blackie, he couldn't recall a civilized moment between them.
Not to say that they were particularly civilized since he'd come to live here, and she found them... But, it was nothing like this.
Without a thought, or care for that matter, Yuki had crossed the room in several long, swift strides. Drawing his fist back as he went, he threw his weight into a punch for the demon's skull. Even if he missed, and hit something else instead, he just might feel better. Not satisfied, but at least the anger would be escaping somehow. But... As the days, and Aisuru's harassment, dragged on... He found himself more and more wishing to rip her to pieces, and even he didn't quite know why.
Why had he become so... Violent? Inu-Mitsu Aisuru just watched as Yuki crossed the room in just a few short strides. She watched as he brought his balled fist back, watched as he drove it forward, but for some reason she couldn't react. Normally she would just move aside and let Yuki's punch miss and the fight would continue. But something was different about this time. Despite being able to see the attack coming in almost slow motion her body was sluggish and couldn't react fast enough.
A hard smack was heard as Yuki's fist collided with the side of Airusu's face, slamming her back into the bookshelf to slide to the floor. What just happened? Dizzily Aisuru tried to collect her thoughts as she brought a hand up to her head to make the room stop moving. The punch had taken her for surprise though it hadn't all at the same time.
Turning her gaze back up at her attacker her silver eyes narrowed. Her vision was starting to clear so she stood, though with difficulty. Feeling something warm and wet creeping out the corner of her mouth she wiped her face with the back of her hand not even paying attention to the fact that the fluid there wasn't the right color. At least not for her. The blood the dripped from the corner of her mouth shown bright crimson against the light in the room.
"You a*****e," She hissed balling up her fist and lunging forward aiming an attack at his chest. Her attack was noticeably slower than what she usually came with, not to mention the strength behind her punch wasn't there. However, Aisuru didn't seem to realize this as her focus was on a counter attack. Hitsuzen There it was again. That cold, numbing feeling that came in company with the sick satisfaction of his successful strike. Something fluttered in his chest. Excitement? He swallowed a laugh, but a smile still tugged at his lips.
It seemed not to concern him that she hadn't tried to move, and when he only briefly acknowledged the fact that she was bleeding his smile broadened. If he had noticed the pigment, he didn't seem to care. Even had he realized... He probably wouldn't have regretted it.
When Aisuru came at him sluggishly, Yuki reached out for one of her wrists, to grasp it tightly and give her a rough and forceful tug forward as he twisted himself out of her path. That one foot that lingered as he moved should have been placed just well enough for her to trip over it if his thoughts were correct. Should he accomplish, he'd release her just as quickly, to send her across the room... Hopefully violently. Inu-Mitsu His actions were too quick, Aisuru didn't know what had happened. One moment she was aiming a punch at Yuki the next she was stumbling forward having trip, crashed into a side table, and then tipped over the chair residing next to it. Finally she came to a rolling halt half way across the room and didn't move but after a long pause.
She had cracked her head on an end table on her way down and touched the spot gingerly. Feeling that the spot was wet she pulled back her hand and saw the strange red liquid that covered her fingers. Red...what a familiar yet strange color. It wasn't important though, at least not at the moment. For now she was blindly mad despite the pain she was in.
Pulling herself to her feet she swaggered into a standing position looking at Yuki in the most deranged angry way. Blood coating one side of her face gave a nice touch to that effect as she moved forward. "You really are a foolish man." Her step wavered a bit but she kept going. "Blinded by memories that you can't make sense of." The pain in her head seemed to cloud her mind a little as she swaggered off course a bit again. Pressing a hand to her head she looked up at Yuki with narrowed silver eyes. "If you'd had stayed home that night, safely tucked away in your little cottage....."
Aisuru paused thinking. Would it have really made a difference? She had fallen right into Dynast's trap and lead him right to Yuki. So willingly she had caused the destruction she was to blind to see would have happened if she had only took the time to think. Maybe Yuki wasn't the foolish one after all. Hitsuzen Yuki winced as Aisuru went loudly crashing to the other side of the room. It wasn't out of concern for her, not in the slightest... Just concern that someone would wake up and make their way downstairs. He actually listened intently for a second or two for any sort of frantic stirring from overhead, but heard nothing.
By the time Aisuru had nearly gotten to her feet, Yuki was approaching. She staggered toward him, and he glared at her hatefully as she spoke. He'd been called a fool so many times, it seemed a common word to be directed toward him. The next, however... More prodding into the soft spot.
But... This time...
This time he actually knew what she was talking about.
His expression shifted as his body gave a jolt, and he looked at her strangely a moment. As though she'd just said something that had genuinely startled him. He lowered his head, squeezing shut his suddenly burning eyes. He knew that. Yuki knew that if they had been home that night, it wouldn't have happened. Perhaps it would have saved her, perhaps she would have lived...
Suddenly, he looked up again. Eyes wide, tears threatening to fall, barely visible in the dim light. "How did you know...?" He asked, though just as soon as the murmur had left his lips, his face contorted in anger. "How did you know!?" He shouted, advancing on her again. Hands reached out, one for her throat and one for her hair. His grip on her throat would still allow speech, while the other hand would curl fingers into her hair, pulling at it to force her to look him in the eyes.
His sister didn't even know where he and Kioko had been that night... Yuki had been given the assumption that Aisuru had been tortured for the information, but how would she have known where Dynast had found them? How... Unless she had been there. "ANSWER ME!" Inu-Mitsu Aisuru gave a sharp gasp of pain as Yuki's fingers weaved into her hair forcing her to shut her eyes. Another hand wrapped around her throat which she quickly took hold of that wrist to make sure he didn't choke her by trying to lift her off the ground.
'How did you know!?'
How could she not know? She had watched the whole horrible thing. Aisuru realized all to late how foolish she had honestly been as Dynast made his move. When he pulled her hair back to force her to look at him she slowly opened much softer scared eyes. Scared because of the pain? Scared to tell the truth? Aisuru wasn't sure, the emotions she felt still swirled in a confusing mass in her head and her heart.
"I," Aisuru choked for a moment though not from the hold on her throat. "I couldn't stop him." A suddenly impulse hit her, she wanted to tell Yuki the truth. Tell him everything. But the words were not there. How could she explain her betrayal? "I might as well have been the one to take her life because I saw what happened." What was this feeling? This stabbing feeling in her chest? Even now she felt as though she had been physically wounded there but knew she had not been. And this painful feeling....made her want to tell the truth. Was this what they called guilt?
Even though she was unsure of her feelings, Aisuru slowly released Yuki's wrists from the tight hold she had held on them. She deserved the punishment she got, for being the foolish pawn in a heartless man's game. Hitsuzen Yuki's expression of confused anger did not change with her words, if anything the look in his eyes looked all the more murderous. Of all of the memories he had regained, it tore at him that this night had become the most vivid.
She saw it? Stood idly by as she witnessed what his father had done to them... Done to Kioko. A chill slipped up his spine as bits and pieces replayed themselves in his mind. He almost choked, but in his anger managed to hold it back for the most. His tears had apparently waited long enough, and a few of them trailed down his cheeks when he lowered his head closer to her face.
"You're a liar!" He accused, fingers closing tighter around her. He didn't even notice that she loosened her own grip on his wrist. He didn't care. "You're no different than him!"
Out of nowhere, cold, sharp metal clamped onto Yuki by one of his shoulders. He roared in frustration as he was wrenched away from Aisuru, Vincent's opposite hand prying her from his grasp. "What's come over you!?" The newcomer had demanded, swiftly dodging a flying fist at his face as Yuki twisted violently out of his grip. "Yuki!"
"MURDERER!" He bellowed at Aisuru, advancing on her again only to be pulled swiftly back and further this time. This time not only by Vincent. Sphinx had investigated the noise as well, and the goal was clear; Aisuru and he needed to be separated. And now. "Let GO of me!" He struggled against them, but between the two he wasn't getting free. Even then, the two looked mildly concerned - if only for their own well being - over just what Yuki might attempt to get free.
It only took a few seconds for Yuki to realize that he wasn't going to get hold of Aisuru again, so he resorted to shouting as he vainly still pulled against the two. "Traitor! Monster! b***h!" He screamed, "GET. OUT." Inu-Mitsu Aisuru only winced as Yuki tightened his grip and yelled in her face.
'You're no different than him!'
Oh how wrong Yuki was, she was far worse. At least in her own mind. She did nothing to fight back against the threat against her and quickly found that it was hard to breath. As oxygen deprivation settled in Aisuru's mind started to go dim. Just when she thought she might black out a third party had entered the room and pried Yuki away from her leaving her to stumbled back grasping at her throat.
At first she said nothing as they tried to restrain him, she couldn't really. She was coughing to violently trying to catch her breath. When she felt that she could finally stand again she looked at Yuki trying to wipe some of the blood off her face as he tossed his insults her way. Normally the name calling would have flared up her hot temper, but she couldn't even muster up enough energy to pretend to be mad at the moment.
"Let him go," Aisuru said firmly staring Yuki square in the eyes. "Hurt me..." She said to him. "Hurt me....to make the pain stop." She had said that to him once before a long time ago and he had refused then. Now was his chance to get his revenge, to settle the past, to ease the pain if only a little. Though in part, it was to ease her own pain as well. "Take your revenge for your slain loved one." She raised a bloody hand beckoning him to come closer. She was fighting back the tears now, this was no time for something so trivial like crying. "Take your revenge on the worthless soulless beast that I am."
Her mind was at the breaking point, Aisuru wasn't sure she could take it anymore. Everything was so clouded she couldn't tell the difference between anger and sorrow. Not that she had an easy time with it before but now it was just too much. It was overwhelming and slowly she could feel her sanity cracking.
"What the hell is going on down here?" This time it was Neko, it was only a matter of time before the rest of the household arrived. He looked to Vincent and Sphinx as they tried to restrain Yuki as he desperately attempted to get to Aisuru. Neko couldn't even begin to piece together what was going on, he knew Aisuru and Yuki didn't always see eye to eye but he never expected things to turn into a physical fight. Especially with how he knew Aisuru felt. Hitsuzen At the instruction to release him, both Vincent and Sphinx did not comply. If anything, their grip tightened. Actions that were a good decision, because soon Yuki was pulling against them again.
This time, it was growing quickly difficult to hold him back. Hands that were formerly balled into fists were conjuring up spells. Even that, he seemed too frantic to properly accomplish, with conflicting elements sputtering to life within each hand. Small particles of ice sprinkled down onto the wooden floorboards, as the spell in his right hand struggled for his focus, while in the opposite equally as weak embers of flame were dimming and brightening as Yuki fought hard the urge to use magic. Should he let loose, it was hard telling how much of this house he would destroy.
He wanted to hurt her, make her scream. Rip her apart, destroy her so violently that she'd never reform... But, no matter how much he wished, he knew that in the end it would be fruitless. In the end, he was doing nothing more than giving her more emotions to feed from. That was why she had been hoovering over him so much these past weeks, wasn't it?
"Damn you..." Yuki had hissed, almost incoherently. There was no winning. No matter which way he tried to look at it... He would be giving Aisuru what she desired.
At least, as far as he could have known.
His struggling had just as quickly come to a halt, and he almost fell limp in the grasp of his housemates. The vivid memories enveloped his mind, and he lowered his gaze to the floor, quickly shutting his eyes tightly against tears.
"M-my wife..." He murmured, "Died in my arms." It wasn't clear who he was talking to, but it was there for all of them to hear. "And in all of these centuries, I thought I had only myself to blame."
Vincent and Sphinx exchanged a glance, and cautiously released him. They stepped back slightly, to give him breathing room, yet close enough to act quickly should the need arise. They had never seen Yuki act this way, so it was very hard to tell if his intentions would change again.
"Wife?" Sphinx had questioned, carefully.
When the lion said nothing more, Vincent pried a bit more firmly. "What wife, Yuki?"
"This was before you... Before... This." He looked down to his own hands, apparently referring to what he was now. A fabrication. A creature who, no matter how much he felt otherwise, was not actually what he seemed to be.
Until now, Neko's presence hadn't been realized, thanks to how much of Yuki's focus had been on Aisuru, and her alone. It made him feel even more awkward, and he finally fell silent and remained so. He released a shuddering sigh, and stared at the floor, wishing so desperately for them to leave. Right now, even for him to teleport elsewhere seemed like an action that would drain him of what little energy he still possessed. Inu-Mitsu Neko still wasn't sure what was going on. Aisuru looked beat up, Yuki was moping and talking about a wife. What next? In this household he was never sure. "Come on Aisuru." Neko said softly touching her shoulder."I don't understand..." Aisuru said blankly, her hand dropping down to her side. She was still staring in the spot Yuki had been standing in though her eyes were looking beyond into space."Understand what?" Neko asked trying to move her toward the door but having no luck in getting her to even budge. Her face had the expression like she was in shock.
Aisuru whispered something but her voice didn't travel far. Neko was just barely able to make out what she was saying but it was nothing more than a number. An extremely long number. "I don't understand what that means."Aisuru repeated the number again but still did not clarify what it meant. Maybe she had finally snapped after all? However, to her the number had a meaning. "One million, two hundred and seventy five thousand, three hundred and eighty two...." ......days since the mark of one of her greatest mistakes that she had yet to find penitence for. It was a long time to live with that horrid beast called regret."Come on," Neko coxed her on and finally she moved with him. Stumbling and swaggering Aisuru stared blankly forward as Neko led her out of the room. "I'm sure you guys have everything taken care of here?" Neko asked looking over his shoulder at Vincent and Sphinx.
Without waiting long for confirmation, Neko led Aisuru down the hall and into the nearest bathroom. "Aisuru?" She looked at him but she still had that dazed look in her eyes. "Get cleaned up, I'll be back in a minute with some clothes for you."
She slowly nodded and looked toward the shower, that's when Neko left her to go in search of Hitsu. It seemed like a good idea to get Aisuru out of the house....for more than one reason. At least with Hitsu it might snap her out of the daze she was in and calm her down. "Hitsu?" Neko called down the hall. His first instinct was to check in the kitchen, from there he would try the living room.
