Okay.
I was listening to the song 'Handlebars' by the flobots.
(Very good song, btw.)
It really made me think how ppl in politics run us.
The song (I think, I dont really know what the writers were REALLY trying to say.) to me means that you dont have to have any experance(sp) in the government. And how the power they have can corupt into something bigger. 'I can ride my bike with no handle bars'- to something more advanced, and honestly something they cant really grasp the idea of the power and alien of it.
It made me so mad b/c I had this little awesome idea on what the song was totally about- with some build up of it from some youtube comments. And I forgot it. eek cry
So, lets all watch the video. I would suggest watching the one that is animated(Official one). I cant watch that one on youtube b/c i dont have the adobe thing. (I watched it on Mtv and it really fitted the song.You can watch the real one if you have Adobe.) So please listen to it and we can talk about it.

symbolism in music is everywhere.
for example, the Reel Big Fish, my friend's favorite band, had accidentally sold their souls to a record company, and they expressed it through such songs as 'Sell Out'(their One Hit Wonderful(which is also a song of theirs)) and, 'Don't Start a Band'.
at first I thought this song was pointless but awesome, but you're right, there's some veiled symbolism in there.

It's mostly like what she said but it's not government, hobo paths. the signs in the beginning has a C on it for what most likely stands for corporation and a dove which most likely stands for a more peaceful path. one person is living a care free nice life, while the other is trying to gain power. eventually the power obsessed man becomes the president and starts going over board with it. like putting up cameras everywhere. then the other guy gets everyone to rise up against him, and they are all killed by the police in front of the president. the guy then realizes his mistakes in abusing his power only after he ended up killing his friend.

so it basically goes along with the saying absolute power corrupts absolutely
