I told my friends because one of them noticed my MSN icon one day was Range, so she sent me a message and was basically thinking I'm a furry. I was like "Oh s**t! Lie my a** off!" I later ended up telling her the next week when I decided to tell my closest friends I was a furry and that I was with Saint. I think it spread a little throught my group of friends to people I hadn't meant to tell, because 1. one of my friends has a big mouth and told her boyfriend that I'm a bi furry (but he's also my friend, so it's ok), and 2. one of my other friends over heard me telling 2 of my other friends.
Some how it got spread to other friends in my group that I had never meant for them to find out, because as I was going down the hall one day, 2 of them turned around the corner of the hall that I just passed and said "So how's your boyfriend?" I freaked out again (didn't show that I was) and lied my a** off again sweatdrop

*laughs* Half the time my MSN icon is of my fat, furry a** XD And you shouldn't lie about being a furry. Such feelings isn't good. If being a furry makes you embarassed, then not only being a furry shouldn't be for you, but I'd like to think that the fandom shouldn't have to come to something like that. Sorry you feel that way though.

I would feel embarrased if too many people I know knew I was a furry. Sevral already do, (mostly the ones I'm ok with) but I could never go out in public with a furry tail or ears. That's why I'm so strongly partial to the full body and partial fursuits. Haters just want to torment furs because they are bored and find our group the easiest to toy with. Since most furs are overreactive and such, we have them to blame for sealing our fate.
Also, I believe its best if we stay away from the public forums here with furry discussion, since it always leads to suffering.

Ekedo kun the reason i ask is cuz i've been flamed by non-furs on alot of furry places... i think they jus want to be mean to us.... hay, we have feelings to ya know... *nod nod* What you just shared almost made me cry because it brought back horrible memories of middle school. I want to give you a hug so bad. It hurts to hear of others being bullied over their differences. But what can you do? Like Daft Punk said, we are human, after all.

NecroWolfExPaladin once again referencing the 'people fear what they don't understand.' thing. One way to deal with fear is to ridicule/ put down the object of you're fear so it doesn't seem so significant. Also there are many bad images going around about furries. The bad part being that they are almost all true for at least a portion of us. So since we're all lumped together as a 'furry race' so to speak. The negative actions of some of us are reflected to all of us, even when thats not the case. Also for some ODD reason people seem to think furry famdom is beastiality. Beastiality is disgusting. There is a difference between that and furry fandom! Haters just don't want to believe that OBVIOUS fact!

SousukeS exactly... like in beauty and the beast. the part where they get the town to go attack the castle because Beast was different. In the song they even describe... nvm. sweatdrop No, no! You're straight. What you're saying is exactly right even if your example came from a children's movie, you still capture the the basic idea that most human beings hate the different!
