My mom's ok with what I have now (7 ear peircings, 2 of which are 6 gauges, a nose ring, and one small tattoo), but every time I mention what else I want to do, she kind of freaks and does the whole "you'll never have a good job" thing. What I've noticed is if I want something done I should just do it and eventually she'll warm up to it. my dad lives accross the country, so he doesnt see them much, so he really doesn't care. They just have trouble accepting the idea certain things at first.

My parents are STRONGLY against mods. I went and got my ears pierced when I turned 18 without telling them and they were PISSED. My mom cried when she saw them, but she's pretty much come to terms with them. She did tell me though that she'd rip off my lobes if I stretched them. (LAWLS, I'm already at 0g! XD I just go with the "I changed my jewelry" excuse like Zombina)
I really want way more piercing, but my parents are still paying for a part of my college tuition, and every dime counts when your broke, so I'm having to hold off for now. Although I've been talking to my mom more and more about mods, and she seems to understand where I'm coming from more. (I'm a sooper diehard metalhead, which she didn't understand in the least, but after quite a few chats she understood that it's just part of who I am. I'm hoping she'll be the same with mods) The other day I told her I wanted to pierce my lip. She was receptive surprisingly. She said she didn't like it, but understood where I was coming from. She was impressed with my knowledge on the subject and said that made her feel better about it. She seemed ok with it, but said my father wouldn't have it (he is anti-bod mod like you would not believe...he said if I got a tattoo, he'd skin it off me gonk ) And as my mother so aptly put it, "he's the one cutting the checks"... so she told me to hold off longer.
My father is so pig-headed he won't even listen, so I can't even reason with him, or explain my view in the least. He says I'll "ruin my life"...
My mom's nice about it. She doesn't like most of the mod stuff, and tries to talk me out of all of it, but she understands that it means a lot to me, so she tries to compromise.

My family doesn't like it all. Even though I'm only 18, I'm in the situation to where they can't really do anything about but give opinions and accept it. My aunt actually told me that if I stretched my ear anymore she didn't want to see me again =/. But since she told me that, I went up two sizes, just had to buy the same type and color plugs. Score!

My mom stopped caring/having a say in my appearance when I was 15. Back then, I shaved my head except for my bangs, dyed them black, and polka-dotted the shaved part of my hair with green, blue, pink, and purple bingo daubers. I pierced my nose and lip and got my first tattoo. I was gothy looking too, I would wear chains and ripped black clothes and I had black makeup all over my face. And from that point on, my look changed drastically from month to month, sometimes week to week even. She didn't like it but what could she do?
Thirteen years later, she's used to it. I showed her my tattoo sleeve and she actually COMPLIMENTED me on it! She still hates my 1" ears. But she has no say anymore so she deals.

Piercings make my mum feel sick when she sees them. She cried when I told her I'd had my scaffold done. I've been putting off telling her I've had my septum done because of that. She said she'd kill me if I stretched my ears or got a tattoo. She doesn't really understand it all. My dad is more laid back about it and is of the opinion that I'm old enough now that they can't do anything about it. He sees that I do put thought into doing something before rushing out and just doing it.

My mom doesn't really mind what I've done so far, but every time I mention wanting a lip piercing or further stretching my ears, she gives me the "look" and tells me not until I move out. But she doesn't mind me piercing my tounge. My dad doesn't mind as long as it doesn't become too overwhelming. My step-mom basically told me my ears were ugly and said that I wasn't taking good enough care of myself. NOBODY wants me to cut my hair. They won't even let me trim it. My mom gets pissed if I even trim my bangs. Apparently having long, dead, unmanagable hair is much prettier than having shorter, more flattering, healthier hair. twisted

I love my moms response to my mods. Shes alright with most of them except theres two things she didnt want me to do.
-First off, no lip rings, which I violated because I love them, and shes constantly asking me to get rid of them. Shes even offered to pay me to get rid of them a few times. -And second, (this is the funny one) she said I can get as many piercings in my left ear as I want but I cant touch my right ear because thats gay lol
I love my mom, shes so old fashioned
