I want to dye my hair black. Every time I mention it, though, my parents flip out. So then I asked if I could go to light shades of brown and do it gradually that way, since I have blonde hair, and they still said no. && I also want sidebangs, and I need my the split ends cut off. I reeeealy don't want my mom to do it, because it never turns out the way I want it to.
Suggestions?

Would she take you to a hair cutters? That way you can get your hair cut the way you want it :3 And it's pretty cheap at like a first choice hair cutters and stuff like that, That's where I go o.o as for dying your hair, I have no idea, my parents didn't care what I did with mine as long as it wasn't orange or pink ((Which I did anyways xD )) If your under 16 and want to keep them not really mad at you don't do it till you turn 16, I mean its your hair you should be able to do what you want with it, But I was gonna wait but by the time i was 15 I had my hair pink xD Cause I couldn't wait any longer xP. Not very good advice or anything but, I tried xD :3

If you have the money, ask your mum at take you to the hair dressers. If you are paying for it, she shouldn't mind. As for dying your hair.. It helps if you know what problem they have with you dying your hair.. If they don't want you to dye your hair because it could damage it, then say you will used semi-permanent because it doesn't damage your hair. I dye my hair black. smile Thing is, your hair may grow back brown.

The best thing to do is to find a way to satisfy both you and your parents. If your parents are easily swayed by other opinions, then let your hair dresser do the talker. Give him/her suggestions like, what about dying my hair? or do you recommend me having sidebangs? and stuff like that.

As a mom, I look at it this way. Better to let you make these kinds of decisions and live with the consequences now. Later, there are certain hair styles, piercings, and other body decorations that are frowned upon in the workplace. But, mom and dad should not have to pay for you experiments. I remember my mom being scissor happy, and my hair was chopped very (1- 1.5 inches) short until 8th grade. I now have waist length hair. I do my kids bangs so they can see, but anything else I take them to a beauty shop. My youngest wants long hair so she can have it done in unicorn horns, and bear ears. My oldest want should length right now. This puberty thing is hard for her to deal with, without long and greasy hair. The shorter stuff is proving to be easier for her to care for. I know she will change her mind later. Good luck.

Yoy may want to ask your parents first why they don't want you to dye your hair. If it's because of the money or because it might damage your hair (I don't know much about the subject but I do know it can damage your hair seriously), that's perfectly understandable. For me, at least. But the problem might have a deeper 'source'. Your parents might not want you to dye your hair because it can cause trouble (although I think bright pink hair might cause more uproar than dyed black hair). Perhaps they don't want you to be seen with a different hair colour.

Ask your Mother to take you to a salon to have it done.

Kaleiah Ask your Mother to take you to a salon to have it done. Thats a good idea, some parents just dont like their kids dying their own hair. But if that doesnt work, then try to find a shade of brown that your mom agrees on and then die it black and say "The box said my hair would turn brown not black!" So theres a sneaky way. Or you could talk to her and be like "Im (insert age here) I can make some not all but some of my own dictions now. Hair isnt a permanent thing and it will fade with in a few weeks, its not like a tattoo that will be here forever. Im old enough to starting making my own dictions now, when I turn 18 and do it on my own you wont be there to say No Pink, or green or any other weird color. Its good for me to experiment now with natural colors then with odd colors." Thats a little scattered but it might work. Or you could always just dye it and say suck it mom... but that wouldnt work unless you have a mom like mine >.<

I go to a professional salon academy, so it's really cheap but your cut comes out pretty nice just about every time. C: But about the hair thing... Personally, I don't like it when people drastically change their hair color, 'cause I dunno. It's just weird. And then another thing is, don't do the semi-permanent thing on your own, 'cause then it fades out, and it just looks muddled and yucky, and bleh. D: I'm not quite sure if you can convince your parents, 'cause their minds might be set in stone about your hair. But if you can just show them that you're responsible enough to take care of it and that you won't be fickle about your decision afterwards. If that doesn't work, what my parents let me do is just dye my tips (PURRPLEEE!!! It's awesome. : D), 'cause if you don't like it you can chop 'em off, and if you do like them, you keep it. I'm liking having just tips, but it's alot of work to care for it and such. C:

I used to keep on and on pleading until my Mum got so sick of it she just gave in. Then I'd feel guilty.

I'm guessing that since you live around Europe or America, yes?
Well, if it's the damage to your hair that your Mum is worried about, you should try this stuff called Henna. I'm not sure if they have it where you live, but if you search in Indian (as in, from the country India, not American Indian) areas you should be able to find it. It's like a kind of herb or something which most of the time comes as a powder (the one for the hair, at least) you add hot water to it and it becomes a liquid and you cover your hair with it using a paint brush. Just like with hair dye, you wash it out after a while and your hair should have changed colour.
It's not bad for your hair at all - as a matter of fact it's good for it.
BUT, I think my Mum once told me that it didn't turn out so good on light hair (My hair's dark brown, so I really wouldn't know) so since your hair is blonde, I would recommend testing it out on a few strands first >__O
As for the hair style, I'd go with what everyone else is saying, and use your own money and go to a hair salon.
Hope you work something out~
