Gravechylde I don't think you can say one genre has one mood to it, even single bands themselves may portray many different emotions throughout the course of an album/song. To say that all Black Metal is very angry and satanic isn't quite true. Sure a lot/most of them are, but there's still plenty that aren't. For ambient, like warrior said, it can be anywhere from calming to outright disturbing and abrasive. For Avant-Garde/Experimental, just because it's shown in a complex way doesn't mean it isn't there. Suffice it to say that the emotional effect of a song is in the ear of the...uhm, be...hear...er. Which makes me wonder just how to intelligently determine what music is good and bad without falling into absolute relativism.

Like Napolean Dynamite, people jizzed over it, I didn't laugh once. So, you are basically correct in the Ear of the Behearer.

A lot of epic sounding songs like stuff by Turisas or Valhalla by Blind Guardian give me like that whole hair on your neck big stupid grin like you feel like everything is ok, and the world is great feeling. Then the song ends and your like ********, life sucks xd

I'm not even gonna start on the list of songs that have gotten me all emotional... I don't feel like getting laughed at right now.

O.o Wow didn't think this thread would be this popular...awesome!
Another band that really gets me going is Exodus. I spent like 40 minutes pacing my house (and jumping around occasionally head banging) listening to like two songs straight. I mean I was about to start punching walls I was so excited by listening to them.
