Ahem...so Gaia got a sponsorship for the movie Speed Racer. I'm happy that Gaia's getting such important sponsorships lately. ^^
But...uh...from watching the trailers, I'm guessing Speed Racer has a slight chance of showers with a cloudy overcast, followed by a 70% chance of FAIL!

 I didn't even bother doing the quest because I didn't want the item.
I'm going to see the movie anyway because I can.

Speed Racer was a giant ball of corn in the first place and anyone who says otherwise is delusional. But that doesn't mean it's not awesome! And I'm gonna see the movie in the theater, since it seems like the special effects are gonna be the best part. xd

Eruravenne Speed Racer was a giant ball of corn in the first place and anyone who says otherwise is delusional. But that doesn't mean it's not awesome! And I'm gonna see the movie in the theater, since it seems like the special effects are gonna be the best part. xd There might be a free showing of that on the base. Was there a free showing of Iron Man on base?

When I first saw the trailer for Speed Racer, I thought "who the hell would want to see this?" buuuuuuuut then the second trailer came out and proceeded to impress me. I still harbor mixed feelings about it though. I mean, it looks fairly faithful to the original in concept and dialouge. Which as Eruravenne said, means that it is a giant ball of corn. XD
However, stylistically it is amazing. Truly though, style is where it triumphs. The visuals are impressive and fast paced, and manage to really blend live action with the crazy visual stuff that characterized the show.

My dad freaked out when he heard they were making a movie. He used to watch that show when he was a kid xD
I like the Wachowski Brothers, so I'd love to see how this turns out and will see it regardless of whether it's supposed to be good or bad =P Like Vincente said, at least there're the visuals.

I remember watching the reruns of Speed Racer. It is great that they made it into a movie.
Some of the older crowd might take an interest to the movie.

I remember watching it when I was little whee ...which is a little freaky as my parents also watched it when they were young. Just how many years had it been on TV?
Anyway, the show was called Meteoro in Argentina, so I was a little confused when I saw the name of the movie xp

I guess they saw how well the Transformers movie did and decided to pull another gem from the crown of animation glory.
Nite Lewis: I think it's been running since the seventies in one form or another. But I'm not sure. I haven't looked on IMDB or Wikipedia. sweatdrop
