A disgruntled Gilderoy fixed Xeno with narrow eyes, a flash of something both defensive and seething in his gaze as he abruptly returned to the door and swept into the house in search of his husband.
“Harry, darling,” he called through clenched teeth as he flew through the house, “I’d like to talk to you in the sitting room.”

Harry heard the woosh of robes before Gilderoy had even begun to speak, his shoulders drooping and the happy smile slipping off of his face.
But he forced it back on by the time he turned around, holding a large plate of food. "Really, Gilderoy, the food is all ready.... everyone is waiting..."
But he faltered, losing courage, and turned to set the plate on the counter., concern in his voice. "What's wrong?"
He picked up a nearby towel from the counter to wipe his hands before heading past Gilderoy and to the sitting room, trying to gather his thoughts.

“Your - your lover has yet again crossed that delicate line we agreed upon,” Gilderoy railed the moment they’d entered the other room, fleeing the earshot of their family and guest. “That line I erected to allow you to… to continue your affair with that man.” The blonde paused as though considering his options before amending his statement, “Your relationship with Xeno. I’m uncomfortable with his… flirtatious remarks.”
As the tumbling roll of words faded into uncomfortable silence, the author appeared rather hassled, as though feeling foolish.

Harry frowned. Xeno wasn't one to make comments he knew would deliberately upset Gilderoy, he was in fact trying very hard to... well, Harry wasn't sure, Xeno was a rather odd man, but he wouldn't provoke Gilderoy.
"What did he say?" Harry frowned, looking at Gilderoy seriously.

Visibly flustered that his husband was not immediately leaping to Gilderoy’s emotional support, the blonde waved an annoyed hand, the gesture fluid but irate. “He made reference to ‘breakfast in bed’ in front of Godfrey and I’m certain it embarrassed Joshua.”

"Breakfast in bed?" Harry wrinkled his nose, thinking momentarily, before he slid up to Gilderoy and placed a hand on his cheek, smiling softly.
He pecked Gilderoy on the lips. "Well he couldn't have been talking about me, you know I hate crumbs in the bed."
Harry wrinkled his nose again and shook his head. One of his unbreakable rules was that he never had breakfast in bed. You could clean all you want and still find yourself rolling uncomfortably on errant toast crumbs for days.
" There's nothing more I hate then crumbs in bed and that will never change. " He reassured Gilderoy. " He must have just been speaking in general."
Harry tucked one of Gilderoy's errant locks behind his ear. " And as for the boys... well they'll get over it if they want to- or have, as I suspect, do..... adult things. Besides, we're parents, embarrassing our children is our job."
Harry smiled wider, exposing a slant of his teeth, before clamping his lips shut in case Gilderoy didn't think it was amusing and would become angry.
Upsetting, for sure but not really surprising considering how trusting Godfrey was and how he craved affection. Thankfully the boy had developed a healthy crush on his school friend instead of something worse.

Gilderoy was dangerously close to being mollified by Harry’s light touch and affectionate kiss, his expression rather lost as Harry explained away the remark. The derailment topic of Godfrey’s young sexuality had him drawing in an annoyed breath before tackling his initial concerns once more. “Harry, he was blatantly making a pass!”

"Come on, Gilderoy." Harry took Gilderoy's hand, leading him to the small pensieve located inside a locked drawer in the sitting room. "Let's put the memory in here and view it objectively. It's great therapy and Healer Pomfrey would approve."
Harry opened the drawer with a tap of his wand, and pulled out the tiny bowl, hardly larger than his hand. " Then we can get to the bottom of this before the others come looking."
Xeno was no doubt keeping everyone occupied, if the teenagers weren't busying themselves already.

Disgruntled, Gilderoy obeyed the suggestion, fingers light but crooked possessively in Harry’s grasp. He allowed Harry to draw the sleek, silver-streaked liquid from his temple, wordless as it was lowered to pool in the miniscule bowl his husband held. “You see?” he insisted, terse, “He’s having a pass at me, look at his face.”

"Well, it seems to me that the comment about breakfast was related to Godfrey's topic of conversation. Xeno's room has a lovely view of the front garden, he often took breakfast there. However...... " Harry watched the memory again. "He was definitely taking a good look at your a** as you left to come talk to me."
Harry tried really hard not to sound amused. "He wants to be your friend, Gilderoy, and he also... really likes you."
Hary said the last part hesitantly, not sure how Gilderoy would react. "He's told me several times he admires your cleverness and intelligence."
Harry set the bowl down, wand pointing towards the memory to gather it back up. "He just wants to get to know you, but just because he was looking at your butt doesn't mean he's going to molest you or that he's trying to embarrass you. I know you don't trust him, but you can trust me."
Harry raised his wand, gently placing the memory back into Gilderoy's head. "Besides...... it was him who suggested.... well you must have noticed he hasn't done any more than give me a short hug or kiss on the cheek. He wants to get to know you but respects your feelings, that's why he moved out, that's why he so understanding. He.... he understands better than I do that......" Harry paused, gathering thoughts he was just coming to realize.
"That you were here first but... he was a large part of my life while you couldn't be here and.... I never thought you would be again." Harry turned away, feeling wetness in the corners of his eyes. "But he understands that you are my husband and things are confusing. He told me a few days after you came home that he loved me and had enjoyed the time we spent together but.... he would be fine with whatever decision was made. And that's why he is trying to be friends with you despite his attraction to you, and why he keeps away unless I ask him over."
Harry sniffled, wiping at he corners of his eyes with the back of his hand. It was so hard to be in love with two people at the same time, and the feelings persisted no matter how hard he tried to make Gilderoy happy and return to their marriage, no matter how strongly he still felt for Gilderoy.
