JoJo shrugged. "Perhaps. Many are born with what a singer has, but few become what a singer is. But you probably could if you really had the desire to. Sing meaningfully, and sing often; the more you do, the better you get."
What a day this was becoming! Not only was he found out on his singing habit, but here he was giving singing advice to a namir that he wasn't even sure could be counted as a friend, given the time they had spent exchanging hostilities with each other.

"Al right," Tolfitken replied, her eyes glittering with decision. Now that she know she was going to try singing she sort of wanted to, well, practice singing. She glanced at JoJo, almost wanting to ask if he could listen to her and give her more detailed advice. It was either that or find some way to politely excuse herself, though how she went from bantering haughtily to holding a polite conversation with him she didn't know. She went with a third option; asking a question, "What would you recommend for a beginner to sing?"
(If you want when we're done with this rp we can do another with them after she's practiced her singing xd )

JoJo found himself shoving aside his indignant feelings and actually pondering a beginner song. "Well.......you need something slow and easy at first, and I'd recommend a song that tests how high and how low you can sing also.......do you know.......The First Noel?"

Tolfitken pondered, but couldn't place the title. "I know it's a Christmas song, but I don't think I've heard it before... I know some from Transiberian Orchestra, though..." Hesistantly, she decided to launch into the song she was thinking of. It was a sort of version of Pachabel's Canon, which was why she liked it so much. She started out with a hum until she got herself caught in the rhythm and feel of the music, then switched to slowly raising the volume of her voice to sing. Her voice felt light and feathery in her throat, but that didn't mean it sounded that way. Instead of using her ears to listen to herself, since she was hearing the notes of the song playing in her head, she felt for the vibrations in her throat, matching the vibrations to the pitch.(That's how Neko sings anyways, if she can call what comes out of her mouth singing... >.>
Well, here's the youtube for the Transiberian Orchestra song, if you don't know it; she'd be singing one of the lower parts... It doesn't start singing right away, though...

JoJo nodded slightly, acknowledging that he knew what sort of music she was referring to. He almost wanted to chime in, but notes that high tended to make him hesitate. He nodded once more as he slowly began to sway in time with the song.
It sounded a tad raw, but he knew that that came from lack of regular use rather than lack of talent. There was a childlike quality to her voice, or was it just because the only version of the song he had heard was sung by children? He found himself genuinely perplexed and unable to focus. Maybe it was just the way this was all creeping up on him; from singing by himself on a lonely hill to giving input to a namir that had he been given a choice would never have divulged his secret love of song.

When she had finished she just waited silently, not knowing if she had done it right at all and expecting that she probably hadn't. The only thing she could do was wait for his opinion. It seemed rather unerving to her that her once-somewhat-enemy was now going to tell her whether or not she should pursue a life of song the likes of which she could never have dreamed possible. She thought it was quite funny how life often tended to throw people into such chaos.

If JoJo had been able to read Tolfitken's thoughts, he would have laughed at how similar they were, and he would have discovered that he COULD laugh, and perhaps he would have liked it enough to do it more often.
But happy times tended to avoid him like that, so he never really knew what had just passed by him. Instead, he nodded once to Tolfitken. "Well, I've definitely heard worse, and I've heard better too. But I think the possibility is there. You've got a fair range, and with practice you could smooth your voice and make it sound clearer. Maybe......." He shifted his paws and looked as though he might choke on the words. As a result, they all came out in a rush. "Let's go deeper in the woods. You know. To sing. Meet you there." With that he turned and vanished into the bushes.
