Well, there we have it then. Proof that Welsh Who doesn't have a gay agenda.

If it did, Private Ross would have lived.

Damn, I wish Welsh Who had a gay agenda. crying

I confess I was hoping for Ross to fill the currently vacant "gun-toting eye-candy" slot on the TARDIS crew.

That would have been cool.

me too me tooooooo D: maybe it'll turn out that actually it wasn't Rose/Bad Wolf that made Jack immortal, just his prettiness, so that then the same will apply for Ross. Hopefully! xD

I was hoping that it was a Secret Ross Clone that died, but yours is much more inventive (and just about as plausible!).

Anyone catch Rose Tyler on the screen? The "Are you my Mummy?" crack made me laugh though.

I really really REALLY hope that they somehow make next weeks episode not suck.

THAT WAS SO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I laughed so hard.... Are you my Mummy

The "Are you my mummy?" bit made me crack up. rofl

Ross going and doing "something clever" was nice, though. He screwed up and realized it, so decided to save the Doctor (and Earth) by sacrificing himself along with blowing up Sontaran ship. It was better than some easy way out of the episode that left us all bored.

Rose? Reminded me of when she's faceless and mouthing "Doctor" in The Idiot's Lantern.. she's the "Bad Wolf" for sure, only it's blatant. DX

Woohoo! Alistair is mentioned; he's stranded somewhere in Peru, unfortunately.

Poor Martha. She just wants to go home. Slightly reminiscent of Donna in that Christmas special, actually, but less annoying.

WTF at the girl in previews!?!
She's like a cross between Kara (Supergirl) from Smallville, Claire from Heroes, and a British accent.

I feel bad for Ten. gonk

And I'm not too thrilled with a new writer taking the helm, especially for subject matter like this.

Stephen Greenhorn's not a new writer. He's the one responsible for last year's The Lazarus Experiment.

.. Point still stands. whee

The Lazarus Experiment was awful, apart from making it obvious that Saxon was clearly S3 codeword/evil guy who shows up later. confused

3nodding Strong agreement.

Of the three duff stories in Season three's mid-season slump (the others being Evolving Daleks of Manhatten and 42) then The Lazarus Experiment was the one with fewest redeeming features.

But...good news! Even though The Doctor's Daughter does have a rubbish script (and a horribly acted central guest performance) the story and the concepts are so strong that it manages to be a smashing episode anyway. Yay!

Though for myself the biggest "Yay!" is reserved for the fact that every remaining episode in this season is scripted by either Davies, Roberts or Moffat, all of whom I think are incapable of turning in a bad Who script.

Oooooohh....... I may be able to live with that. ^^
Moffat cannot go wrong, Davies has improved (IMHO) since the revival of the series, and Roberts is pretty good too.

Can't wait to find time to watch The Doctor's Daughter. heart

I don't personally think there's all that big of an improvement, as I enjoyed his writing for series1 a lot. And Moffat is made of win. I think you have to think that in order to be a new-who fan.
Remind me though, what'd Roberts write?

On telly his only televised Who works so far are The Shakespere Code, Attack of the Graske, Invaision of the Bane and Whatever Happened to Sarah-Jane? Oh, and sneaking lots of Who references into his Coronation Street scripts.

But he's one of those guys who's been around in fandom forever though and was especially lauded in the Virgin years for how perfectly his past Doctor novels caught the style of thier era. I can't recomend his TomDoc/Romana/K-9 trilogy highly enough (that's The Romance of Crime, The English Way of Death and The Well-Mannered War). His First Doctor novel The Plotters is great too, and since its in the style of a Donald Cotton comedy this bodes well for The Unicorn and the Wasp which he's said is also in the style of a Donald Cotton comedy.

He's also done some great audios, the best of which (The One Doctor) is rumoured to be the inspiration for this year's Christmas special. eek

Oooh.. I'm only halfway into this but already it's better than I thought. The girl is annoying though. =/ Not gonna go into saying more 'cause I'm saving that for the episode thread. ^^

Oooh.. I thought there was an episode title of Doctor Who with a type of bee. mrgreen

And Whatever Happened to Sarah-Jane? Part One is really good!
That little alien running around reminds me of the Graske, too. Coincidence or not, seriously? Hm.
