CYTgirl5000 Who are WE to judge? I can understand someone saying "Hey I have been thinking and I really feel that you might want to work on this." But I don't think that God wants us to judge each other. I think that He wants us to help each other grow in Christ but not say "Hey you're sinnful" we don't have the right because we are still sinners and will always be until we go to Heaven. Our judgment does not come from an "I'm holier than thou" attitude. Our judgment comes from this: We recognize that we are sinners, and we humbly condemn sin in anyone; like it or not. Our job is to be like John the Baptist. And what did he say to king Herod? The truth: that he was sinning.
I want this point to be made clear: the Word of God is offensive to the world. The Bible is clear: "Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed" (John 3:20). If we are being rejected by calling what is sinful sinful and what is good good, then we are doing exactly what God has told us to do.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:20). We are persecuted and called "close-minded", "ignorants", "hateful", just because we remind the world that right is right and wrong is wrong. There come Peter's words: "We must obey God rather than men!" (Acts 5:29).
Yes: we are sinners too, and this is why we must be humble when we are speaking against sin. However, this does not mean that we must shut up and make ourselves slaves of the twisted propaganda of a world that "tolerates" and celebrates sin. True love shows the truth: Jesus died on the cross because of our sins. Sin is not a small thing... Jesus had to die because of it. Are we going to shut ourselves up and not teach others what Jesus want us to teach?

This is another perspective as to what I was getting at. I don't mean to "judge" as so many people see it, as a hateful way to do things. Obviously, I am being misinterpreted. Of course we do things out of love; we still have to point out to others (and they point out to us) sin. Of course, it must be a real sin and not something only man sees as "sin". Dancing is not a sin. It can be worshipful, or it can be something secular. That doesn't mean people shouldn't do it (unless it is a stumbling block for other believers, then one should not do it around those people).

I agree with most of it. I'm not saying we should stop spreading the Gospil but I don't think we have a right to condem people.

Well I see no reason for it to be a stumbling block for others. I don't dance around them but if they were to come to see a show that I'm in and I have to dance for the show I'm not going to not dance because they think it's wrong.

If a few others think it is wrong, then you shouldn't dance around those people. That is what I mean by stumbling block. It causes them to point fingers and perhaps gossip. Just like we're talking about now. Dance on your own time or around others who don't care one way or the other. Don't dance around those that think dancing is wrong, just like Paul said he wouldn't eat meat around those who don't eat meat. I hope this clarifies things.
I haven't said anything about condemning anyone. God doesn't even condemn, people condemn themselves.
And if you're doing it for a show, it boggles my mind as to why they would either come or see it as wrong to begin with. Who knows. Is it a church thing?

Thak G-d I don't have problems like that. At my Synagogue(it's Messianic) we do both Messianic dance for G-d during the service, and Israeli dance for fellowship afterwards. Both are lots of fun, but Messianic is special. It really lets you connect to G-d.
I don't see how anyone could possibly see that as a bad thing, especially since there are tons of places in the Bible saying to praise Him with dance...

You say the people are being judgemental because they told the people they have done something wrong? I disagree that just because someone has said you are doing xyz wrong that doesn't mean they're judgemental and in the wrong for saying it. Just because they think you may be doing something wrong doesn't mean that they believe themselves to be perfect. When somebody says you're doing something wrong don't be quick to turn around and discount what they're saying on the count of them "judging" because there may be merit in what their saying. If everytime someone holds you accountable for something they're being judgemental how will anybody know anything?
