Why are there J-Rock/Visual Kei bashers? I don't know how it could happen because I love both genres and most people that ACTUALLY LISTEN to the music like it too. The only people that make fun of J-rockers/ Visual Kei artists are the people that see the band photos and immediately judge them. I hate how people are always asking me if I'm sure that they're male. I know that sometimes the Visual Kei artists deliberately dress as females, but for the most part... THEY DON'T HAVE BOOBS! eek

i like both genres too. in fact, i'm envious when i see guys wear women clothing better than i can. but it is the music that counts.
oh the guys in my group of friends are like that, minus the guy who listens to j-music and understand the weirdness. when people don't understand the music or the reason behind the artists dressing like that... they tend to bash it. it is out of their norm. they bash it because they are scared of it/confused by it/intimidated by it. they don't understand the reasoning behind the way they dress. they don't understand the lyrics to the music. there are many reasons, but that is the vibe i'm getting from the guys in my group of friends. also, it kinda has to do with the exposure and up-bring to this kinda stuff. i think. anyways... i really don't know why people bash, i enjoy the VK/JR stuff. sorry if i'm not much help in answering your question. sweatdrop

yeah sadly we will always had losers who will bash because they dont understand. Thats how I always saw it when your not in with whats going on, you bash it because you dont know what else to do. I have had many of those moments, and I have cursed all of them for it. Theres bashers for everything and its sad, I have a thing for hello project music jpop (ex musume, w) and even that has been bashed right to the very last spot. I just find people exausting, for me when it comes to visual kei its interesting to see a guy pull off being a women then I could XD.
I have to admit I have my question moments like is he comfortable with that mini skirt XD

Yes many peoples ask me how i can listen to music I dont understand the lyrics to, and therefore they think im weird. They dont seems to understand that you dont have to know what they are saying, im happy to just feel rythm and listen to the feelings of the music. Its not just the song wich matters, its the music itself 3nodding At least thats what i think x'D

I agree with everyone's answers in here.
I think it's the whole idea that people think different is weird and anything they don't understand or agree with as wrong. Sometimes we may even do it ourselves without meaning to. I suppose it's just part of human nature.
Although I do have to admit that the majority of the time, it does get annoying when you have to put up with it all...
But you know, they think J-Pop men look like girls too. If so, they must think a majority of the male population in Japan are girls...I think it's just many people who are not part of the culture find the whole androgynous deal disturbing. which is really sad, but everyone should be entitled to their own opinion, just like we are...
By the way, sorry I disappeared for so long...I hope no one forgot I existed... sweatdrop
On another note that has nothing to do with the former topic, I find this fandom, specifically this guild, really interesting. While I wait for more J-rock stuff to come out, I've been in J-Pop mode, but it's not the same. I mostly obsess on my own with that genre because J-Pop fandoms have different people. And for some reason, they don't seem to be as open or nice as people in J-rock fandoms.
So I really missed it in here... everyone's just so nice that it's refreshing heart

i think the bashing of Jrock and VK stuff is really to do with one's personal mentality/open-mindedness and such. but i can't say i don't like to laugh at j-rock-pop-VK things. me and my friend like to play the eternal question game... "guy... or girl?" sweatdrop so mean, but we only do it between us two.

Jpoppers are that... mean? never knew that... but i can kinda see that. i have a friend that is all about j-pop. i'm all about j-rock/VK. i try to share my music with her, but she tends to go like "uhhh... yeah... hey let's listen to *insert j-boy-band name here*!"... i'm like "awww... burn." yeah... welcome back! blaugh
