Oya's snout sniffed the air finding a dry stench of scorched popcorn, very unpleasant indeed. He turned around now, walking forwards, knowing they had to be close. How many other rooms could one burn popcorn in after all? The fox's tail swished from side to side as he lifted his muzzle every so often to catch a whiff of the air.
"Smells like someones meal took a horrible turn in fortune," He frowned, waisting food like that was never a cool thing to do. Not at all. "How hard is it to make popcorn? I mean the person must be a complete idiot to burn something so simple."
(( For the record ... Chobi burns popcorn all the time 8 ' DThe times on the bags LIE))

Meanwhile, a couple of doors down in the kitchen, a large purple cat with an intellect far belying his age flailed in a rather... Epic fashion. "Oh man oh man, Gear's gonna kill me!" He cried, arms waving dramatically. The fact that Gear was likely somewhere halfway across the pound and had no way of knowing that he was here, burning popcorn, precious popcorn, was completely irrelevant, and beyond the scope of his logic anyhow.
Panicking, Adrastos, for there could be no doubt as to his identity, resorted to sitting in the corner and plopping a pot over his head. It just barely covered his eyes, and therefore quite pleasantly blocked out the view of the kitchen. Out of sight, out of mind!
Covering his nose with one hand to block out the rising stench, Anas nodded his agreement. "You'd be surprised what they can manage to burn here, though... It's not exactly a wellspring of intelligence." He snorted at that, and as they finally reached the kitchen, stepped through the door. His amazement at the fire alarm not having gone off was immediate; The room was slightly smoky, the microwave being the clear source, and the smell here was even more awful than it had been in the hall. "Ugh," he groaned. "This is terrible."

Oya paused at the door way beside Ana his hand now shielding his nose from the unpleasant scent from the burnt popcorn. Irritation from the smoke caused his eyes to water and his throat to dry some. This was not a pleasant situation at all.
"What smart one do you think caused this disaster?" Oya questioned licking his dry chops after. " Ive never seen such a bad attempt to make popcorn before. What a waist. Tisk tisk." The fox shook his head still shielding his nose from the fowl oder. The purple cat who was now "Hiding" had not caught his attention. With the slight smoky atmosphere it was hard enough for Oya to breath which was now his main focus breathing from his mouth. Was a hard task to do seeing his throat was now dry.

Anas shrugged as he peered around the kitchen, looking for the smoke detector. He certainly didn't want that shrill thing going off. "Oh well, at least we've got lots of popcorn here?" He commented optimistically, and having finally located the smoke detector, he rushed over and began waving a dish towel in its direction. "I don't want this going off," he said between flaps, "it's really irritating."
A few moments passed, and the smoke began to clear, though the acrid scent was still thick in the air. The mallard-colored dog sighed in relief, laying down his dish towel and taking a seat at one of the round tables.
Adrastos, too, noticed that the smoke was clearing, and as it did, his panic grew. People were here! They'd find out what he had done, and be mad, maybe even bring Gear in here to yell at him. Fearing detection, he decided to strengthen his disguise by loudly humming one of the showtunes from Cats.
