Let's face it. This show is finished without Tosh and Owen. And there's no way Torchwood will end now. I read somewhere that Marth'a characters is still going to have a big role outside of torchwood. I can't see them trying to pull off another spin-off. So Torchwood is the only answer. 3nodding Edit by Ceribri: First off, you don't just blurt out stuff like that in the thread title.

Okay, you don't know that for sure.
There's rumors going around that Owen isn't perma-dead, although I really don't believe them right now.
Martha could come back, but that would be really awkward. Like if Captain John joined them. (he's not, but could easily guest-star in an episode.)

Series4? Reaaaaally? Sure it's not S3 you mean? confused
James Marsters and RTD have both been heard saying how much they'd like to bring the character back on a more regular basis, so who knows, it could happen... (*fangirly fingers are crossed*)
Burn was heard talking about s3, but that was before ep13. And in Declassified he was joking about how maybe he'd found his way down into the swers and was king of the weevils, but I hope he is dead this time. I've had enough of the whole bringing characters back thing now, let's keep that to fanfic.
I think there's a good chance of martha coming back. They've already established her as a Torchwood character and I doubt they'd make a UNIT spin-off. Though y'never know... :/
while we're at it, who do you lot think will replace Tosh and Owen?

It was late and I was just getting high off of Doctor Who and House. (Both in S4)
It would be cool to see Captain John back, but not as a regular.
I think they might as well induct Rhys into the gang.. he's seen enough already that without his connection (through Gwen) he'd be stoned from all the retconning.
But mostly I'd like to see someone show up that we already know some stuff about, so we don't have to go through *more* backstory episodes.
Aaand... I'd rather not see Martha come back, even if it was logical, because it's like.. it keeps that idea that companions can't just go back to the way things were.... I would like to think there is one person who can. =/
And please no UNIT spinoff. DX
That would be just as bad as the idea RTD had for a 'Rose Tyler: Earth Defense' spinoff. gonk

I would love to see more Rose, but not on her own, (I really, really, ship #10 and Rose) and definitely not in a spin off. I like the idea of bringing Rhys, he could take over what Ianto used to do, make the tea. Martha is a good possibility too, to replace Owen as medical officer, but I haven't the foggiest idea what to to with Tosh's role as general genius. They might bring in Andy, Gwen's policeman friend, he was showing up more and more towards the end of the season.

that is a new one! O_o not sure what I think of it yet...
something i only realized very recently (shame on me) is that we could possibly let John replace Tosh. I mean, he must be tech-friendly if he got the Rift Manipulator to do what he wanted it do (without opening the Rift and killing loads of people in the process... I take the "killing loads of people" bit back, but that was different!). I think Martha will probably take over Owen's job, as much as I don't want her to. Gwen will probably get pregnant at some point in s3 (actually pregnant this time though) and I reckon there'd be a build-up over a few eps if so, with her angsting a lot (it's like she was saying to Rhys in Adrift, it's not exactly a child-friendly job). In the end, Andy will probably take over from her when she's on maternity leave. And that is how I will get my OTP to become canon! (Andy/John)
I really don't have ANYTHING other than my insanity to back that up with though.

I have a strong suspicion they're going to bring Rhys in as a regular team member. I mean... he went from being a background character that only really showed up when Gwen needed to be emotionally manipulated, to a guy who's shouting in Jack's face (This is quite homoerotic,) having more adventures than Ianto got in the first season, and facing down his own mum with a chainsaw. And since they had that previous episode about the consequences of long-term retcon use, I doubt they're going to just keep erasing his memories. xd
I'm sure Martha will be back as well, and Capt. John... at least as guest stars.

I think they could afford to bring back one of them, but not both. If they did do a resurrect my money's on Owen (who is also my favourite... but I can't let that cloud my wild guessing). I hope Mickey doesn't join Torchwood... xx

Owen comes back as a mutated zombie, he reinvents the Risen-Mitten and brings Tosh back to and they all lived happily ever after... Oh, and Tosh and Owen star in Corpse Bride 2... xp
I saw the teaser and it looked... freaky... with all of those children saying simultaneously "We are coming..."... which I now misunderstand since I sometimes think weird, weird thoughts...
