A strange letter
Greloren cursed as he kicked the door to his apartment while continuing to jiggling the key in the lock. "Open, you cursed thing..." He muttered as he fought trying to get in his own place. The little grey dragon on his shoulder chirped and Greloren scowled. "Shut up, Quill. I know how to use a key!" With another kick, the door finally unlocked and the man shoved it open. He closed the door behind him as he entered and promptly kicked off his shoes, dropped his pants, and flopped onto the couch. "Clicker!"
Quill fetched the remote from whatever dark recess it had found to hide in and brought it to the man. "Thanks, Quill." He gave the dragon a pat and pressed the power button to turn the television on. Twenty seconds later, he was snoring away.
Quill dug through the pockets on the jacket Greloren had discarded and found the mail he'd shoved in the inner pocket. The dragon flew the mail to the snoring man on the couch and dropped the small packet on Greloren's chest. When he didn't wake, the dragon landed and smacked the man upside the head with a wing.
"Wha-?" Greloren glared at Quill, who cheeped. "The mail?" He picked up the stack of letters from his chest. "It's just bills and junk mail. I'll deal with it later..." He started to toss the mail aside when Quill hissed. "No, I won't forget about the bills again." He paused. "Yes, I know we lost power when I forgot to pay the bill. I won't forget. I swear."
"Look, I'll put the bills here and I'll pay them later. The rest of this crap..." He started to throw the stack into one of the several piles of trash scattered about the apartment, but something stopped him. "What's this?" He spied the nice envelope and seperated it from the rest of the junk, which got tossed aside.
"Hmm...." Greloren opened the letter and read through it once before bursting out in laughter. "I like this guy..." He informed Quill, who'd found a pen for him somewhere. "Ah, thanks." He filled the form out and put it in the envelope, which earned him a hiss from Quill. "So what? I'll do the bills later." With that, he closed his eyes and resumed snoring.
