Well as an actual statement of her background,
Yuuki is Kaname Kuran's younger sister and he is engaged to her as the pure blood's did not want to 'dirty' their bloodline and then their mother died to protect her (Yuuki) from Rido (Her uncle) who wanted to kill her or something like that and then followed by a really nasty scene where their father dies and then Kaname assumedly kills Rido but Rido comes back and I believe his fiancee was Shizuka Hio who was killed by Kaname as his beloved Yuuki was in danger...
And then Rido comes along, possesses Shiki's body and then Kaname finds it and injects his blood in it. And that was where I read till
