The moon was rising in the pitch black sky and Violetpaw looked up at it. It was such a magnificent sight... Today had been when she became an apprentice under Dawnstar, her leader! She looked at the moon once more before curling up to sleep.
In the morning she woke up just in time to hear her parents saying,
"Would you like to go hunting love?" Violetpaw immediately sprang up at those words,
"I'll go!" Her parents looked at her and her mother murmured,
"Don't you have to meet Dawnstar for training?" Violetpaw was disappointed but left anyway to go out with Dawnstar.
The moon had risen again as Violetpaw padded back into camp. Her parents weren't back yet and she immediately knew something was up she padded over to a brown tom who she had seen follow her parents out to hunting.
"Do you know what happened to my parents?" The tom looked sadly at her and mewed, his voice cracked with grief,
"I watched... As they were carried off by two-legs..." Violetpaw took this in badly for she immediately ran out of camp and yowled to the moon.

Several seasons had passed and Violetpaw was Violetmist now. She padded out of camp carefreely with Goldenwhisker, the deputy of WindClan. It was such a beautiful day and Violetmist thought nothing could go wrong but she was mistaken. The stench of badgers hit both of their mouths hard and they spun around to come face-to-face with three adult foxes. Their chances of survival now were thin. Death couldn't be avoided...

The fight ended now and Violetstar painfully got up in her puddle of blood. Beside her was a sight she hoped to never see. The torn body of Goldenwhisker. Somehow, miraculously his eyes opened and he looked at Violetmist with love and sorrow in his eyes.
"Remember Violetmist... I'll always love you. No matter how far away we are..." His eyes started to close again and his body grew colder and colder as the moments passed. Violetmist kept those words in her heart and whispered,
"I'll always love you... And never forget you..."***
After bringing in Goldenwhisker's body back to camp to be buried Dawnstar had told her the news and announced it to the rest of the clan.
"Congrats Violetmist, you'll be a great deputy!"
"Yes, congragulations!"
"Congrats Violetmist!"Violetmist looked at them all with gratitude and grief in her eyes. She was probably the only one still pained by Goldenwhisker's death. The only one who heard his last words... The only one to recieve his love.

"No! Dawnstar no! It was too late... Her leader had eaten the poisoned rabbit despite her pleas. Slowly the lives died out of him and Violetmist looked on with sadness in her heart.

Violetmist made it to the Moonstone the day after Dawnstar's death. And she followed Autumnbreath in through the twists and turns. As soon as a cave was sighted Violetmist relaxed and waited.
The dazzling light came and the Moonstone shone. Violetmist knew what to do know. She laid down by the stone and put her nose to it and instantly spiralled to sleep.
Violetmist stood in the clearing at the Gathering before seeing cats in front of her. Ones she knew, others she didn't. This was it... She was going to be a leader now.
One familiar white pelted cat came and Violetstar cired out,
"Mother!""With this life I give you..."And soon... The process was almost finished leaving Violetmist breathless. Her mother had gone, then father, Goldenwhisker, and 5 others came before Dawnstar approached to give her her last life.
"With this life I give you courage. Never give up. Always have courage." Violetmist had to resist the urge to srceam
'Why did you leave me? I warned you too!'All the cats stepped back and called out her new name.
"Violetstar, Violetstar!"
"Violetstar..."
"Violetstar... You are now leader of WindClan..." murmured her old mentor and leader.
