So, I have a question. What do you think about the quote in the ... Ultimania I think? Where it says that Aeris knew that Cloud wasn't himself, but still had a great affection for him.

Do you think he still reminded her of Zack, or do you suppose Aeris really longed to know the real him because she was attracted to him personally? (I'm not sure how that's possible.)

I think that's one of the many, many quotes that show just how confused Aeris was. It also clearly states that she doesn't know the real Cloud. No one can make the argument that Aeris didn't have affection for faux Cloud. All it's saying is that even though Aeris knew it was a facade, she still cared for him. It doesn't mean that the one she held affection for was the real him though.

Well, I'm sure Aeris had the desire to know the real Cloud since she was bothered by how much alike Cloud was to Zack. I think that was her sincere wish even though it was never granted and because of that her affection would only lie with what's on the outside, the Zack persona, so yeah.
