"Rokugi, why don't you and Nadeshiko work on the last bit together. We're almost done, my darlings," Yuki said as she gave Nadeshiko a light rub on her back before moving over to where the pipes were being assembled. With her hands on her hips, Yuki shook her head. She was sure they'd have it done by now. "Alright. This is the last thing we have to do before putting up the walls. Why don't you tip toe around the laid concrete and actually start assembling vertically in place. The plans might make more sense that way as well. I'll even get the base in the right position for you," Yuki suggested, not sure if the group had already tried it or what they were trying to be honest!.

Akiko balked. It was getting so late, and they were the ones holding up the building process! She really needed to work harder so they could get this done. She considered her partners' statements, but something still felt off. "Hmm... well, yes, it could turn it around, but why would we need to? A straight line with the correct flow would do the same thing, right?" She tried to think of something, but without deeper knowledge about the plumbing system, she couldn't infer anything. She honestly felt like she was floundering. "Well... if it's listed on the blueprint, then it's supposed to be there, right? I guess we'll just put it on like the diagram says and hope for the best. These things are symmetrical, so it shouldn't matter how we put them on. The one-way pipes and the ones that split the water are more precise, but we can just follow the diagram for the rest of it. That's easy enough; we can get this done before nightfall if we work hard enough." She got to work assembling the U-bends and putting in the proper connections, but somehow it didn't quite feel honest. She'd have to do some research when she got some spare time.

Akemi stayed quiet as the other girl started rambling about the different pieces and the diagram and such once more. She seemed to be coming to a better understanding of what they were supposed to be doing... "Uh.. sure..." she mumbled as Akiko started moving forward with a quicker pace then before. The new found motivation of the girl was somewhat contagious, because as she started making more progress, Akemi was able to understand a little more what they were supposed to be doing, and could start to see more how the pipes they were working with and assembling were beginning to resemble the diagram with every passing moment.

Karite and Kore soon entered, looking around he saw a lot of busy people helping to rebuild the apartments. So there was a fire here last night, Karite thought. Crossing his arms over his tattoos, he looked at all the unfamiliar faces building up the village. He hadnt seen most of these faces. He was so busy training and fighting he hadnt spent much time trying to get to know the people he was protecting. Funny how things turn out. Rubbing Kore's head he felt the lions low growls. These faces were unfamiliar to him to. Things were changing around here.

Akiko watched out of the corner of her eye as Akemi finished a substantial section of the pipes. Akiko had a few pieces yet to be placed and connections to be made, so she finished up the work in front of her. Turning back, she looked over the system and found that, in fact, it was just about complete. She'd still have to get an adult to look over it--it wouldn't be wise to continue with the construction if there were something they had overlooked. So, she stood up and dusted herself off. However, just before she left, she turned around and smiled. "Great work! We finally got this thing done! I'll go get Yuki-sensei so she can double-check our work. Maybe then we'll be allowed to go home and get some dinner, huh?" She pivoted on her heel and scurried off to go look for her aunt. Finding her overseeing the construction, she ran up to her side and bowed hurriedly but politely. "I think we're about done, Aunt Yuki. Could you come take a look at it?" She put her hands behind her back, bouncing enthusiastically on her toes.

Nadeshiko swept her hair out of her face as she re-attempted to pour and smooth out the concrete for the last time. It was getting very dark, and soon it would be too dark for her to work anyways. And she was feeling close to exhaustion, though she was unwilling to admit it. Either way, failure or success, she would have to call it quits at this point. She hoped she would be able to pull it off just once more, and this time, her hopes were not dashed. If Nadeshiko could have scored herself, she would have given herself a perfect ten for this trial. "Yuki-sama, I'm leaving for today. There isn't anything else I can do." With a slight tilt of her head, Nadeshiko left the housing district on a relatively high note.

Yuki looked on with a smile towards her niece. It did not take the girls very long to get the wall up. They were bounding with energy today. The medical kunoichi followed Akiko over to investigate their work. One finger gently adjusted the glasses on her face while reviewing their work. After two minutes of contemplation, the woman gave a small smile and plucked a speck of dust from her niece’s pale colored hair. “You all did very well today dear. I am proud of you. If you keep up the hard work you will make a fine kunoichi soon enough.” the woman stated. Akiko’s future was as bright as her daughter. Yuki just had to be weary of Akiko befriending any of those ill behaved Kun Kumo. It wouldn’t be an oversight this time around, but those types of thoughts would hopefully be for years down the road.
Her ears picked up Nadeshiko’s question. A view of the setting sun and then to the students and genin gave Yuki the idea it was time to end for today. The dark haired girl had the right idea. “Ok everyone! We’re done for today. Go clean up and get yourselves some dinner. We will finish the reconstruction tomorrow.” the medical woman shouted for all to hear. “Akiko don’t stay out too late. Supper will be made soon. Nadeshiko you don’t have to worry about anything else for today. There’ll still be enough for you to do tomorrow.” Yuki finished dusting her lab coat off from any small specks of dust. She’d have to start checking off what was finished and what needed to be done tomorrow once dinner was made.
Yuki left the children to their own devices. Her eyes gazed around the village surveying the work and some of the villagers. There were many faces that she knew and a few that she didn’t. It was to be expected though since Shimagakure was becoming a haven for many. The woman would have to remind Shinichi-baka to try and get an updated list of everyone in the village. It would make things easier to be able to put a name and a face together. Giving a small sigh Yuki returned to the Tenmoki Household.

Bunch of kids were lazy. At least that is how the Kage felt. Old Hag Yuki needed to stop coddling them. They could easily work without supper to midnight. It is not like it happened all the time. Aside from that, Kage was just about finished here. The others could take care of cleanup. For some reason intuition was telling him to check around the island. Even in the man’s head he was not sure what he was looking for or even why, but instinct built on years of battle was not to be taken lightly. Of course this would be a solo mission. His mind had no concrete facts that something was wrong and even his rational side was saying that an evening stroll would show nothing. Still, Shima’s red haired demon would not resist his inclination. “You kids don’t stay out too late.” the man said taking his own leave.

Akiko beamed at hear aunt's praises. In truth, she hadn't been paying attention to her performance on the job--or the job as a whole, for that matter--but she was quite interested in the puzzle that was the plumbing system for this housing unit. She liked being presented with these sorts of challenges; it gave her something for her mind to play with. But... hearing these compliments, well... those felt kinda good, too. She wanted to hear more of them. Of course, that meant she'd have to work extra-hard, too--and she didn't want to lose her childhood too quickly.
She was startled from her thoughts by the mention of dinner. As her stomach quickly reminded her, she was, in fact, quite famished. "Ah... see you all!" she said, waving hastily at the others before heading back home. However, she didn't seem to have quite the energy she thought she would have at the end of the day. After all the toil she went through that day, her muscles were straining to carry her along and she was more than a little fatigued. In the end, she ended up lying down by a small pond and drifting to sleep, not returning home that night...
