Oh wow awesome link Tedderz thanks! In that case I hope Gaia continues to release items however they like. That stuff is not copyrighted and is free for anyone to use. Just because there are some immature people who want to think of themselves as powerful is no reason to cower from them or bend to their wishes. I really don't think they will be able to get into Gaia because Gaia is not going to dish out everyone's passwords like that. Once they realize this and fail at "raiding" Gaia they will look like the idiots they are. (No offense to Rye or anyone else who frequents those sites, just talking about the idiots who want to "raid".)

That was a good link, explained it all. I understood what was going on, I just couldn't figure out how to explain it. And there were a few things I wasn't really aware of, like the Subeta, which I have heard of but didn't realize that was one of the major causes of the password problems last year.
WobinA is exactly right, it's not copyrighted, and Gaia has every right to use the memes... in fact it is only fitting that they use images of internet phenomena on a site that has become an internet phenomena in it's own right.
Channers of various # sites have nothing they can reproach Gaia with anyways. They love to post under Anonymous, and therefore in the end nothing can be directly attributed to them. The site (some) do image dumps sometimes anyways (expensive to run), so they can't even back up their own 'history'. They make fun of people taking the internet too seriously ("The Internets, serious ******** business", mocking people who has filed lawsuits because of something said on the net), but then act like there is a pine cone shoved up their butts because of a borrowed image!
Ultimately the 4Chan frequenters are completely retarded thinking they could over load our servers or other nonsense. Maybe 3 years ago, but not now. If WE don't over load the servers causing the site to completely crash (only slow during events) then these little, disorganized and fringe groups within a larger communities (which is still smaller than Gaia) have nothing. Maybe a real hacker can hit Gaia good, but I'm sure they are more interesting in infiltrating banks and government websites, rather than trying out their skillz on a site that is not a household word, nor universally well known (yet) among the internet community. Even 4Chan, being the biggest English language image board on the internet has people everywhere saying "What is 4Chan?"
I find the drama entertaining. Livens things up here a little bit, and gives us something to talk about.
At the same time, I'm so sick of these kinds of interweb n00bs. I'm sick of the lingo, I'm sick of trying to keep up with it so I don't feel/look like an idiot when I read/post in GD. I'm sick of the condescension and the lack of manners and absolute absence of moral code amongst the surfers of all internet message boards. Seriously... I have nothing to do with my life, but how can all these other people have even less to do? Everyone gets called nasty names. What is with all the cruelty out there? How do these people get off on being so damn judgemental all the time??? I don't get it, and half it it isn't even remotely clever. That's why the only place I post or frequent is right here in PJs.

I admit, I'm still a little skittish about everything after the Subeta incident, but I'm trying to make myself believe that everything that's beens aid is true, that the raid is ultimately doomed to failure. Logically, it makes sense, but logic has little to do with remembering how bothered I was when I (temporarily at least) lost Rye.
I like to say I don't hold grudges, I've even visited some Chan sites after losing Rye. (Think I said that before, actually.) But if they are going to act like this, well it just means I'll lose what little respect for them I might have had. Very little, by the way.
And of course, Keith and Subeta isn't much better. He escalated the battle, and as a result hurt lots of Subeta's members. He was a jackass before that, too, seems he thinks Subeta is his little power trip, he bans people if he feels like it, and even when a glitch makes your money or items disappear, he won't do anything about it. That being said, I hate myself a little because I went back to the site a while back...
But yes, even if the Internet is serious business, so what? If it's a business, then take a day vacation. Oh really? Yeah really!
