INSIDE OUTSIDE U.S.A. Oooh, that's a toughie! :3 Hmm... I would choose magic over all! Just seeing Pent doing Elfire makes me go "BAM!" in my mind. If I must choose a normal weapon... I'd say lances.
I don't favor them entirely, but I easily use more lances than any other weapon. I guess they're just useful. Especially because they cover a wide range of classes. I just use them the most.

Honestly I would say my favorite is swords (cliche I know)
Magic however is badass, the dark magic used by shamans has always made me wonder why don't they use it differently though...

lances all the way, 9/10 times my final party cosists out of knights and cavlaries with spears (the hero, a healer, a mage and maybe a sniper just to balace it out a little bit but still all the spears possible)
i just love to use the spears

Swords. They've been my favorite weapon ever since I was young. And a number of my favorite units are swords users despite alot of my strongest characters use a lance or an axe. It may not be as versatile as axes or lances but theres an appeal to them.

I'm more of a lance person simply because they remain pretty useful throughout the game. Usually the sword is amazing in the beginning as you start out fighting bandits and such but i hate them since they never do much damage though they do have pretty good accuracy. Axes hate my guts unless a general or great knight is wielding them. Swords are only useful if wielded by a swordmaster or hero and even then later on their fighting paladins and generals so whats the point? Therefore lances are the great weapon to use indefinitely.

Axes, almost entirely due to Hatchet and other axes like that that have double range.
In magic, it's Light magic. It's high crit/high hit chance makes it seem rather amazing to me.

Personally, I prefer lances. I just like the idea of keeping my opponent out of my space, and poking them with a lance. Axes and Swords hold a place in my heart too, but they can't beat out lances.

There are spear/axe equivalents to Lancereavers and Armorslayers, but swords still hold the most variety of special weapons. Lets not forget Wyrmslayers and Wo Daos for the win. Without that little advantage though, I'm really not sure. They all have their strengths and short-comings. Honestly, it usually depends on the character who uses it. Someone with high hit-rate isn't gonna mind sporting an axe, while others would prefer to keep it safe and maybe try to get a double through superior speed. If I was a character in Fire Emblem, or even a knight in old times, I'd probably carry all 3 on my back and bust whichever one I needed when I needed it.

Hm, Swords, if we're talking the weapon triangle, and, anima magic in the magic triangle. of course, wind magic is my favorite spell. <3
I especially liked being able to customize your own weapons in FE9... I made the most badass silver sword with high crit, hit, and low weight. Once I got Mist's sword ability up and gave that thing to her...daaaaaamn. xDD
I also recall making a similar weapon for Rolf...it was a badass, too. Especially since lady RNG was with me and managed to raise his speed and stuff so high he literally could not miss and would hit twice and more often than not, got criticals both shots. I miss playing that game, darn it. *shakes fist*

When i first started playing i liked Axes above all else. But when i got deeper into the games i was more pressed into useing Lances more, because the classes i used more used them... So i will have to go with Lances too even though i do still like Axes.

Type: Lance, Item: Javelin Why? Because I like striking enemy archers at a distance, while poking the life out of Barbarian's nearby. It does have it's weakness's, but nothing beats doing a crit with one these babies XD
