Ooh! This is cool.
I'd guess my wand would be around 10 inches (average of HP characters' wands), have an opal or phoenix feather core (for magical flexibility) and be made of ash wood (for intelligence, wit, communication, knowledge and curiosity).

Oh fun! I spent hours creating my character's wand once, it was fun! My wand would be

Willow's wood, with core of vampire's blood and hair of a wolf.

Willows because, like the person who started this post, it has healing properties and is able to compromise. That fits me very well.

My vampires core is because if I were in Harry Potter world, I'd probably become a demon hunter. Wolf is because these creatures tend to work best when alone, and thus bring power more from themselves than others. However, they are also pack animals, and while they could live on their own, and sometimes prefer too, they could not live with out seeing their pack at least once in a while. This also fits me, becuase I only have a few true friends (like, one.) and am always the one who wonders in a corner at parties, yet I get along very well with people and enjoy the company of others if I know them well enough.
