"You'd just have to be quicker than him silly.." She shook her head a bit, continuing forward, she had to step up onto the uplifted pieces of pavements. "If you did, or ever do..you can tell me.." She giggled, "Good thing Im not a lady eh?" she didnt mind such stories. "And that your not trying to impress me..I prefer those, to just be them..No need to impress.."
She trotted long, tail erect behind her as she made her way through. Almost like a tank, barrel chested as she walked. "Guess were real dogs eh?" she smiled up at him.

"Not a lady, hm? Maybe not the typical lady, but you're definitely a lady, unless there's something I don't know." He raised an eyebrow with a smile, just teasing her.
"Oh, we're the realest." He puffed out his chest a bit but soon lost the will to put so much effort into it and let himself fall back into place, laughing. "Just two dogs proving themselves... Sounds like a story my parents would tell me as I fell asleep." And the moment he said that his expression dropped. Why did he just mention them? He knew it would only cause the empty hole in his chest to make itself known.

She snorted a laugh, "No, no Im a lady in that matter. I certainly dont have any boy dangle parts.." She laughed a bit more.
"Of course.." She bumped her shoulder into the lower part of his leg. "Ooh stories from your pare.." Her words trailed off as she looked up to see his face fall, her tail lowered a bit. "Oh suga.." She mused softly as she stopped. "Tell me about them?" She knew it would be painful..but maybe it would help a little too.
"Cant even remember what mine look like..Just a random litter, left where she popped.." She mused with a shrug.

Please stab my heart...
He hesitated, not liking how much pain he was feeling just thinking about them. How would it feel to actually talk about them? He feared it would be like running head first into a brick wall. But, still, Love was nice and she had good intentions in mind, he could tell.
"My parents were older when they had me. They had been unable to have a litter before, and so I was like the miracle birth. I had no siblings, just me, Mum, and Dad, a happy family. Kids used to tease me about their age, but I didn't care." He shrugged.
"Dad was really nice. Always willing to take time out of his day to help me with my problems. We used to go to the lake and watch the sunrise every afternoon. It was the last place we were together before he died of old age."
"My mother had died a few months before, for the same reason. She was really caring. The type that told you not to run so you wouldn't trip over your own ears." He chuckled. "They were the perfect, caring couple."
"I haven't really made an effort to go anywhere with my life since their death. I still remember what Dad said to me last though. 'There comes a time in every dogs life when they must move on to greater things', and sometimes I wish it were my time. Just so I could see them again."

Her heart was breaking for him, such a sad tale. But it was alot better than most had to share, she nosed his shoulder softly.
"They loved you, you were a lucky one. To have them for as long as you did, even if you feel like it was a short time.." She said softly.
"Im sure they wouldnt want you to join them until your sunset came calling.." She looked to him, "You'll do great things Heru, your family saw that..You just have to see it now.."
She paused for a moment, putting her much smaller paw onto it. "Thank you for sharing with me..I'll never forget it, you, or them.."

He nodded. She was right, of course. She didn't even know her parents, and he'd got to spend most of his pup-hood with his. He was indeed a very lucky dog. He just wished they hadn't needed to go.
"You're right, really. It's just hard, I guess." But slowly he started to smile, feeling a little bit better about it all. "I'm sure they would have loved to meet you," he chuckled. "You're the kind of girl they always used to put me on playdates with. Though none of the others were quite as sparky and unique as you." He pawed at her ear and his whole expression seemed to be a bit brighter, returning to how it had been earlier.

"Of course its hard, you loved them. Its always harder when love is concerned." She nodded her head. "I would have loved to meet them as well, they sounded like my kind of adults.." She mused with a smile.
"Ha, your parents had taste.." She teased a bit as she shook her head, his pawing tickled a bit. "Your a special one Heru..I'll have to find you again and make sure you remember that!" she nodded her head as they continued forward, the end was nearing.
Even if she willed it further away...

He snorted back laughter. "Special, not so much, but if you're really keen on reminding me then it's a date." He watched for a reaction, trying not to pay attention to how close the end of their walk was coming.
"It's not so hard to find me really. I'm usually either here or near the alley by the big burger place in the city." He really did hope she would try to see him again. But, just to be safe, "Where could a lonely Russel find a lady like you normally?"

Her ears fell a bit as they neared the end, her tail dropped as well, she smiled up at him. "I must..you'll forget and we both know it.." She teased.
"The morning market, and well usually in a sunny spot at the water front really.." She nodded her head, the waterfront was usually peaceful until the weekends, but the market is where she strives best. The women there all loved to slip her treats and such. She loved honey n apples..
