If the pigs are death gods though... would that mean Death doesn't care for time? So as long as it is fed 'apples' Death wouldn't care how much time something has.

The death of 'something' , we don't know what that is at the moment, is only delayed by the apples there is. Once there is no more apples to feed death, that something will die.
Just going off the 'pig represents death' theory.
