So you are suggesting that the higher power was just bored and just up and decided 'I think I'll make something today to give me something to do'?
If a higher power did indeed create us then it probably would have made it more complex than us being here 'just because'. Even if it was 'bored' then it would have likely added a purpose to make it even more interesting don't you think?

I have no idea. I'm not a higher power, so I don't know what one would do or why he/she would do it. All I'm saying is there is no reason to believe that a higher power wouldn't get bored and create something for no reason. Any being that could create the universe is not exactly bound by our primitive laws of reasoning. You think it is "likely" that It would have given us a purpose. Maybe that's what you would do, but that doesn't mean it is what It would do. Maybe It thinks our purposelessness is more interesting. Maybe we were just an experiment. Maybe It has a better experiment going on somewhere else. Even if it could be absolutely proven that there is a creator, it does not necessarily follow that we were created for a purpose.
