On the eighth of March, 2008, Gary Gygax, founder and creator of the renowned Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game passed away due to an inoperable abdominal aortic aneurysm. More information here. Let us all bow our heads in a moment of silence for the man whose work influenced almost all the roleplaying games we've ever known.

I played D&D when I was a little girl, but I sort of grew out of it as I got older... I still create fantasy characters, environments, and scenarios, and perhaps one day all of that will be published into a novel.
Dungeons & Dragons fueled my imagination and creativity. I would not be pursuing a creative career were it not for that remarkable game.

I've never played D&D, but I know that Gygax definitely had a big influence on the roleplaying game genre.
he'll be remembered for a very long time.

Quote: Gary Gygax, one of the co-creators of the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, died Tuesday morning at his home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, according to Stephen Chenault, CEO of Troll Lord Games. He didn't die today, he died on the fourth, not the eighth. So long as we are taking our hats off to him, we may as well get it right when he died. (besides its rather odd that you posted this on the fifth, and you say he died three days after you start this post.)
