missjanalt ~Love Will Tear Us Apart~ SuperCock ~Love Will Tear Us Apart~ Well, an issue I find with religion, is that if there is a supreme being, or beings, why do other people believe differently? Wouldn't it all be the same one if this being, or beings, was so supreme and powerful?
How I view religion is that it is a way for people to feel like they have meaning. And, that there is hope. That if we believe in this, we will be rewarded. It's a way to not lose hope.
Now, I have no problem with people who are religious, but don't preach to me. You have your beliefs, and I have mine. Besides, I'm a contradictory Catholic.
:] Christians claim that their God IS all of the Gods in other religions, but the people just view "Him" differently.
Which I think is a joke, but oh well.
I'm apparently going to hell anyways. Well that's stupid.
Lol, aren't we all?
:]Small correction, but Christians DO NOT believe that their God is all of the gods in other religions. My appologies. I'll rephrase-
Every christian I've ever confronted with asking what they think about gods in other religions.

WARNING My opinion is posted below! ~ Quote: Well, an issue I find with religion, is that if there is a supreme being, or beings, why do other people believe differently? Wouldn't it all be the same one if this being, or beings, was so supreme and powerful? Because God gave us free will so we never had to believe in the first place. Quote: Christians claim that their God IS all of the Gods in other religions, but the people just view "Him" differently. What? I don't know if that's true or not but it could be. But I mean I dought it. I could make up my own god and make up my own religion but that dose'nt make the the same god viewed in a different way. I've just never haerd that before xD
Sorry about my spelling! Haveing trouble typing tonight >_>

missjanalt DumberDan Let's look at the roots of everybody's religion. Islam, the Prophet Muhammad believes that he hears voices, which he soon realizes to belong to the voice of the angel, Gabriel. He believes them to be the words of God and is determined to bring those teachings to everyone. Jesus, a carpenter is born. He believes that he is the son of God, the Jews however think otherwise, and turn over the young carpenter to the Romans where he is then crucified. Paul, a Jew is shocked and appaled by what has happened, believing Jesus was the Messiah that would free them from the Romans. Paul then spreads Jesus' teachings to Jews in an attempt to convert them to the new faith, Christianity. So essentially religions are made by a bunch of crackpots who think they are/were important. I don't know about Islam, but you obviously did not do your homework on the roots of Christianity. Christians believe Jesus WAS the son of God, born to a carpenter, which was the trade he learned until he started his teaching minstry at 30 years of age. Jesus didn't "believe he was the son of God" he actually SAID HE WAS THE SON OF GOD, which, to the Jews was heresy and they had him condemned and after a kangaroo court, handed him over to the Romans to be killed. What sets Christianity apart from other Religions is that it is the ONLY religion that claims their God came in human form, lived among the people, was killed and came back to life. Paul was one of those men who actively pursued those who believed Jesus came back to life after his death. He had whole families carted off to jail or killed, but on his way to Damascus, he had a vision in which he did a 180 and became a Christian himself. By the way, early Christians WERE Jews. So who's the crackpot? Anougher good piont to be made. Before you tell somebody that they're wrong and you think you know everything about thier religion. You might want to do your research first!
Also people seem to be argueing on the fact that Jesus was born from the virgin Mary even though she was already married. - False!
She wasn't married she was engaged. So she was still a virgin.
Anougher thing that makes Christianity different then alot of religions is that You don't have to do anything to get to heaven. Anyone can get into hevean! You just have to believe In Jesus that he is the son of god! That's it. Seriously. Not that I want tostart an argument about who's religion is right and who's is wrong. It's just bugs me when people try to disprove a rligion without even really nothing anything about it.

I know the church. I know the stories. I know the theories.
And the thing is, nobody knows if Jesus was anything more than a man.
And if he was, he could have proven to the Jews that he was.
Since he didn't, who's to say the stories aren't just puffed and misinterpreted?
Who's to say they're not downright false?
If he was the Son of God and a miracle worker, it would be undeniable, and therefor; truth, fact, and beyond contestation.
So why is it that more than half of the world doesn't believe that he is?
Because it wasn't proven. It was NEVER proven.
And that alone, throws Christianity out of the window for me.

And that alone, throws Christianity out of the window for me.Just like all history. There's plently of History the world believes that could just be made up or "sugar coated" But people still believe them, right? Evven though you never know if these story's are true or not. But in Christianity, there's only one story! The bible. Alot of people who argue with christians think they know everything about their religion. When there's only one story, it only happened one way. I read this book once and it was talking about the roots of religions. And the whole Christian/cathilc part was messed up. They got all they stories backwards. Which means they probably got alot of the other religions backwards. Yes there are different views to the story and different ways of telling it. But that dose'nt change the original story.
And Ehemm, Christianity is one of the world's top religions, next to a few other religions. Christianity is America's top Religion! There are people all over the world who believe. Or at least have heard about Jesus or God. Even though there are billions of people who don't there still are billions who do.
Here's some articles and charts. All say the same thing. So how can people say that christianity is dead or that no one believes? I'm not trying to say that you should believe just because this many people do. That is completely up to you. But it annoys me when people say that christianity is dead when it is the oppisite
