Volunteer-Gathering Thread: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=11853309

As most of you are aware, this was basically what I did for DSW2. I was going to compile a clean zip file of all the materials, including a computer-designed version of some sigils, but I guess I'm choosing to forsake homework now in favor of doing a bastardized release since that's what some want. Maybe I'll do that a day I'm not procrastinating on something else [yup, homework] already.

What It's All About: By using a sigil, as well as trying to gain the favor of Morpheus, god of dreams, I was trying to get a few volunteers dreaming about certain subjects. I had the volunteers submit dream logs, and cast the sigils at a time when I thought most of them were either asleep or heading to sleep shortly. a**l Jesus split the casting work with me, as well.

Basically, I had a schedule of what I was going to try to get a certain volunteer to dream of that night; and a certain theme for all the volunteers each day of the experiment.

The below posts will contain the dream schedule in question, an example sigil and method a**l Jesus and I used to cast it, and...

Results: They're entirely up to your interpretation. I will admit straight off that it seemed that almost no one dreamed of what was intended for them. There were only about 3 correspondences to what I had tried to get people to dream of as to what they actually dreamed; and I can only think of one solid coincidence at the moment. But hey, some of you don't believe in coincidences.

After I've got everything up, you can give me your feedback. As for why it didn't exactly work, I could make up all kinds of excuses. But I do sincerely believe that through empowerment, improvement, and acknowledgment of the sigil, Morpheus, and methods used, someone will find a genuine use for this. And hey, magickally practicing and doing stuff like this is a big step for me.

Alright, this is how a**l Jesus and I did it! Below, there's a pretty big picture of the main sigil used for the dream-inducement.
Charging it required touching the 'master' sigil at the top and reciting the mantra encircling the sigil. You'll see more of how it works after you take a look at it:
User Image
1. The 'master' sigil, another image of it and what it is a sigil of will be found below. Here is where you touch and activate the entirety of the sigil.
2. The two triangles make up the body of the sigil, holding other sigils within. I forgot the symbolism.
3. The main mantra: "To induce without harm, to meet without harm, TO DREAM WITHOUT HARM"
4. The "ZZZ" break in the mantra is where one takes a breath before reciting the mantra again, hopefully visualizing a buildup of energy that circles the sigil as you read.
5. Gods like name-dropping, I bet. This acknowledges the power of Morpheus with relation to the sigil.
6. Start of sigil's duration.
7. And end of duration.
8. A sigil meaning "Shared Dream" links the two triangles, that hold...
9. Sigil or personal symbol of the recipient of the dream.
10. Sigil of what the above recipient dreams about.
11. 'Cancellation' sigil, made to make sure that all magic is dispelled. A bit of a repetitive addition, so I actually only used this the first morning, since school prevented me from doing otherwise. However, I feel it wraps the whole sigil up nicely.
The template for this sigil is basically all of this with differences in 6, 7, 9, and 10 depending on when you want the sigil to be in effect, who you're inducing the dream on, and what sort of dream you're trying to induce. Also, as was the original motive for this experiment, you could instead have another person's symbol/sigil in the second triangle with the intent of inducing a shared/linked dream between two persons.

Here's the 'master' sigil, which was used each time, variated slightly:
User Image

And the 'cancellation' sigil, basically unused during the experiment but I still recommend using it, also, it's not supposed to be slightly tilted:
User Image

Alright, this post is kind of long, so I'll have a more detailed method on how I used this in the next one.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 4:23 pm

Instructions for use:
1. Copy the entire template onto paper as best you can. The mantras should be a rough circle around the triangles.
2. Write the duration's beginning and ending into the appropriate places.
3. Draw the personal symbol in the upper triangle. If they don’t have a symbol, sigilize their name [screen name, because it still identifies them]. Make sure when sigilizing that you keep their entirety of a person in mind. Either way, you can reuse the sigils you make for the names.
4. In the bottom triangle goes the sigilized theme of the dream. For example, a sigilized form of the phrase “Lush Forest”.
5. To charge: Recite outermost mantra of the sigil while pressing your thumb/finger to the 'master' sigil at the top. When you get to “ZZZ”, take a breath, and repeat, as many times as you think is necessary, keeping the main intent in mind. I prefer 10 times, but it is your own personal preference that matters. Visualize energy flowing around the circle as you read the mantra, and visualize it growing every time you take a breath.
6. [I did this] After reciting the outermost mantra, take a breath and recite the inner mantra [Morpheus eight times] while visualizing the energy speeding around it. Keeping it all in one breath does something for me, I dunno about you. And when you inhale again...
7. Feel the intent of the entire sigil glow and pulsate with power: make clear in your mind the intent of Dream Inducement. I visualized the recipient and let my mind flash of the possible dream images emerging from the intended inducement, as well as the 'master' sigil glowing and pulsating with energy.
8. You're already done, but if you want to use the 'cancellation' sigil the following morning, go ahead. Draw the sigil at the bottom of the completed spell, touch it and visualize any remnant energy breaking and dissipating back to whatever Source you feel appropriate.

So there you go. I hope you liked it. Some results still to come, but for now...

A Few Things I Did To Try To Appeal Morpheus:
1. Offered my dreams up for sacrifice. It would save him some work, right? Actually, on two nights I did this, I had no dreams. The third night I had a vivid one, however, and subsequently stopped offering my dreams for a reason I can't think of right now.
2. Recognition of Morpheus' name in the magicks: you know that already.
3. Uh. I read some 'The Sandman' comics by Neil Gaiman. >.>
4. Basically, I think that just thinking of Morpheus and acknowledging him was a way to give him power. And I don't forget, either: he's a good guy, Morpheus. Real mellow...real...*yawn*........

But yeah. Excuse me while I go take a nap...and excuse my stupid ramblings.

Results:
I will admit to you right now that this is THE best that I have got for results:

Wednesday Morning
Intended Inducement: Random. War.

ShadowHail

Right... Well, once again I have to report that I don't remember my dream from last night. I know I had one, but it doesn't seem to have stuck.

The most I can remember is that I think it involved Gears of War. XD

Yup. That was the closest I've got to a hit. The second closest was Kizzy's dreaming of something Santa-related, and the intended inducement was Jesus. Same thing, right?
However, I'm just going to slop up all of the dream logs I've received into an archived file and let you read them over yourselves. It's basically verbatim with what I was sent, but I've got the logs corresponded to the correct night. If you decide to take the time to look through the results and find anything I may have missed regarding success, by all means, let me know. However, most of it's blatant failure. I dunno, you might find something I haven't.

And if you're a volunteer who didn't want your dreams 'published': I'm sorry, I will re-make the archive ASAP if you have a complaint. However, I gave a general warning in my previous thread, so please don't blame me.

That's it, everyone! Looking forward to your feedback: questions, suggestions, comments, flames!

Regardless of the results, I must say that that is one badass sigil. I came.

Eeeuwaaah.

I did dream about a computer. >: O How do you not remember my smuggling monkey's in cigarette cases dream?

In that dream I stole a computer too. Or, more rather the other people who ditched me did.

I believe so...although I had to do yours really early, what with the time zone difference.

Well I know I dreamed about University, definitely. Perhaps it was delayed effect?

Well, let's check here. It actually has two "Monday Morning"s written in the dream logs I have for you, but I believe that was just an error and thus the dream you had about University came one day earlier than the intended inducement of you having a dream about "college/school". So unless something that happened in the past was effected by something I did in the future, which Dorian was implying, it just didn't work. Magick works in mysterious ways, as some would say, I'm sure. So perhaps it really did have a retroactive effect. Or...it just didn't.
