"Hey... just wait a minute! You're the one who summoned him here because it was YOU who didn't want to walk." She said with a huff at his words. She clenched her hands into small fists, still nervous about talking back to him. Quivering lightly, she added. "Excuse me if I'm scared of riding a horse that could probably eat me... but if that's what you want... then fine!" Charl snapped, tears welling at the corners of her eyes as she spun on her heels and started to walk away.

Growling, he leaped off the horses back and easily landed in front of her, arms folded across his chest, "So that is how you view things?! Just because he looks mean and scary, he is gonna try and eat you?! Do you honestly think that I would summon something that would hurt you?!" he said, trying his best to look angry, but there was obviously hurt in his red eyes.
"Sorry for trying to make you more comfortable because I couldn't summon something more frilly and nicer looking." he snorted, turning his back on her and starting to stomp away.

Charl stopped and almost stumbled back when Laharl landed in front of her. She blinked for a moment, not being able to tell if he was angry or... something else as she listened to what he said. It was when she glanced into his eyes that she felt her heart sink.
She listened as he apologized then turned around to stomp away. Without really thinking, a few tears spilling from her eyes, she reached out and grabbed his scarf, "Wait...!" She exclaimed as she stood there, holding the garment tightly, "please wait."

Laharl stopped when his scarf was grabbed, his red scarf, but he didn't turn to face her. He refused to let her see how hurt he was at that moment.

She stood there for some time, trembling as tears streamed from her eyes, down her cheeks. "Please wait," she whispered again before going silent once more. The words she wanted to say were there, they just didn't want to come out as they swirled around her head with all her other thoughts.
Her hands clenched more around the red garment, sniffling softly. "Please, that wasn't what I meant. Well, it was, but I didn't mean to hurt you." She started softly, tail slowly shifting between her legs. "I mean... it's so hard to explain... but I'm generally nervous around anyone I meet for the first time, more-so with those who look like they can and will do harm to me." She paused again when she felt that she wasn't making things any better, but continued. "Seeing the horse scared me because I don't know the horse or his intentions." Another pause, bringing the scarf down to fiddle with it nervously with both of her hands, "... to be honest, I was scared of you when I first met you. But... but now, I like having you around because, you make me feel safe and... because... " She paused before muttering, trying not to be heard, "I love you."

Laharl folded his arms in front of his chest tightly as his red eyes narrowed further, tempted to pull away, throw an insult at her and just leave. But he didn't, his ears flicking when she spoke to him and he hmph'ed lightly. But she had a point, she was incredibly timid and seemed so jumpy around those that seemed threatening.
He supposed calling Samael was a stretch, he should have called Morgana instead, she always seemed to have a calming affect on others, once they got passed the blood and bones.
But his sharp ears picked up what she heard and his red eyes widened largely in surprise. She...loved him? "You....love....me..?" he asked, his voice full of awe, arms falling to his sides.

Charlamagne blushed deeply because he heard what she had said. Remaining silent, her fingers fiddled with his scarf a bit more. Letting out a soft sigh, she nodded to herself. "Yes... I-I love you Laharl." She confirmed, looking down at the scarf in her fingers. She bit her bottom lip softly as her ears flattened at the thought of him not returning her feelings, but she felt a bit better that she at least told him hers.
Slowly, she let go of his scarf, backing away slowly. "Anyways, it's not that it matters. I'm sorry that I upset you, I didn't mean it." With that, just as the scarf slipped from her fingers, she turned to walk away in a different route to get to town since she doubted he wanted to go with her now.

Laharl stared ahead when she confirmed what she said and then pulled away, his scarf almost looking like it was reaching for her. He was torn. Before he would have scoffed and yelled at her that an Overlord didn't need love. But since coming here, things were different. He didn't have to constantly fight to keep what was his and others actually wanted him around.
But most of all, someone actually loved him. His sharp ears flicked when he heard he start walking away, and the next second he had his arms wrapped around her from behind, hair covering his face as he whispered in her ear.
"I sure as hell didn't say you could go anywhere. It's rather unfair you tell me you love me first when I didn't get to tell you I love you. But I guess it's ok since it's you..." he said, squeezing her a little.

She only took a few steps before she squealed, feeling something wrap around her from behind. Looking behind her, she mouthed 'Laharl?' questioningly, wondering what he was doing, but she was still blushing furiously from their closeness.
Her ear flicked when he whispered into it and listened intently. She was slightly nervous that he was upset at her, especially when he stated that he hadn't given her permission to leave. She gave another questioning glance when he started mentioning it being unfair, but her eyes quickly widened when he mentioned not being able to reply the declaration of love. Did he really love her? But... she thought demons, Overlords especially, didn't have or know the feeling of love. She thought about that for a moment. Maybe Laharl was different? She always felt that he was. With a sigh, she leaned into his arms, especially as he squeezed her. "Hm... I-I guess I should apologize... I didn't realize it was unfair."

"You're damn right it's unfair. But I guess I can let it slide this time..." he said a bit grumpily, his scarf wrapping around her as well, as if taking the extra precaution to keep her there with him.

"I-I'm glad to hear that y-you will forgive my tra-transgressions." She replied softly. The spotted Audio was so flustered at their close contact, that she didn't realize that she even spoke to him as a prince. Well, she knew that he was one, but not once as she spoke to him like that. Perhaps it was the best she could come up with at the time?
As 'intimate' and a bit embarrassing as it was for her, she could stay like this forever with him, her hand skimming over the scarf lightly. But her belly rumbled in a small protest. Charlamagne inwardly cursed herself as she blushed and looked away some. "D-do you still want to get food with me?"
