it probably wasn't me that started this "trend," but i feel like after i did it, a lot of other people did, too. or i could just be slow/vain. o wo anyway, i'm starting to make avatars more about style than matching, and a lot of other people are following suit, mainly making matching avatars and saying "rate it based on style." now i'm starting to notice that no one is taking suggestions on said "stylish" avatars...but they're really not stylish. o wo;;; at all. i want to stab them when they say they are. xD;; that's exactly what i've been doing too. o wo
i'm pretty sure i'm not the one who started this trend, but i'd be pretty ********' amazed if i did. o wo;; anyway, i mainly started this thread to discuss this new trend:
♥ what do you think about people wavering away ♥ from matching and leaning more to style? ♥ do you think it's the opposite? ♥ have you ever felt that you started a trend? xD

My style's too personalized to really start a fad... Though I do have a few apostles in the church of HoP. ninja
I think the AT will waver back and forth between style and matching depending on which regulars hold more sway at the moment. Everyone wants to be part of the in crowd. XD

That was my thing! scream LOLZ, actually i don't see a whole lot of people with very stylish avatars, so I'm not sure it's a real trend. Maybe I'm biased. I like the style-based, I think they are prettier than super-matchy avatars. I look back at my super-matchy ones and I'm just all like gonk

Vlinder has done that with powerclashing since day one. Originally the AT was about style and not matching so anyone who was in AT when it was created based avatars purely on style. I suppose it's just a trend recycling itself much like the real fashion industry.
I've started many trends, then again alot of people who have been around for a long time have started trends imo.

lol I've noticed a lot of people claiming their avatar was based on style.. but they're like a biker chick with a fly swatter and like.. ballet slippers. Or a cuddly little poonum with a skull hairpin and combat boots. I think it's just because they don't really wanna be rated on matching. Or just that they like the look of something, even when it doesn't quite make sense in the scheme of things.

I've never seen one of your style avatars, I mostly see you in matching and now you're naked, so I guess I can't comment on the actual style part. In my lurking, I've seen HoP start the "Style > matching" in the begining of rating threads, but that "trend" is as old as the AT like CC said. People waver back and forth between matching and style. It normally happens when people get so sick of hearing all the fad raters b***h about that certain aspect of the outfit.
Tastick started the last big "style" movement and it lasted a bit before ******** craze moved in. If I seen anything in my lurking, I think this round goes to VK. I saw him doing it before you were, sorry.
