RP LOG FIFTEEN

The plan was to never think or talk about the Seto thing again. The plan was not working.

Firstly, Brittania was trying to talk to Jin about… well leaving, and he was too thick to actually notice. He was just being so nice and kind… and God knew whatever he did with all the metal he’d taken from inside these new caves. He stayed for hours in his sorry excuse for a cave with… Brittania didn’t know- some huge block of metal… just making... something.

And as for Brittania… she wasn’t doing too well. Mentally, all she could do was think about that night- when she closed her eyes she could feel him-touching her and she felt nauseated. Then when she had her eyes open, she actually felt nauseated. She was famished for the strangest things- like pork. Pork? When had she ever eaten pork before? But she wanted it! Raw, cooked, kabobbed- she NEEDED it! Jin was really good about it, though. He was getting her whatever she wanted- obviously to make up for his slip-up a few weeks back. But it just made Brittania feel guiltier.

Well as for Jin Kyoshi- he knew exactly what Brittania was doing. Or thought he did, which for a teenage male is everything. He knew Brittania was trying to push him away. He knew it was because he was too young. He knew that he has to do something impressive to prove that he loved her more than the sky and the ground and more than the feeling of the air in his wings and his face. So he sat in his cave, making her something really… well to tell the truth even he didn’t know what it was. He debated on a sculpture of her- without the scars, but then he thought it might upset her. Then he thought, maybe a nice sandpit or a chair, but them… no. Then he thought- what about… well girls like pretty things? Pretty things are… well sometimes antiques? Antiquey stuff seemed a good bet, then? So… metal and antique? Well girls like looking at themselves… metal was reflective… what about a mirror? But it would have to be one whopping mirror, for all the metal he had. Why not one of those old posh study table desk things? The ones with the mirrors? Okay- make one of those.

(Looks like this, for reference: User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. )

So he set about making one of those, and getting Brittania pork. Lots of it. She was eating loads more than usual lately… and, not to sound like a typical male, she was putting on a bit of weight… which was weird because her face looked gaunt and haggard and the scales were greyish and bagging. He didn’t want to say she was less beautiful… but she looked… yeah let’s not finish that sentence. Jin wouldn’t forgive himself if he finished that sentence. He worried about her.

Brittania, however, didn’t notice her bagging skin. She didn’t leave the cave for fear of running into Seto Kaiba and him… just being all… looking at her! With his eyes that saw her… She shuddered.

Seto Kaiba, by the way, felt terrible. He felt like he had betrayed his children and his family. He could barely get up in the morning. And when Mokuba found out that Seto had lost his locket… well, let’s just say it is definitely something when Seto Kaiba cringes at the anger in his baby brother.

Seto could still feel her scales on his skin. He was not repulsed by the memory, only deeply saddened and almost betrayed by it. He couldn’t bear to look at his children, and when Izanami turned up with her new babies he nearly wept with the injustice of it all. He was having one of these episodes when Brittania suddenly choked on the pork kabob she was eating.

She’d figured out why she liked pork suddenly. She’d figured out why she’d gotten fat- oh even she could tell she was fat when she couldn’t easily fit through her own tunnels!

She was pregnant.

RP LOG SIXTEEN

It was a cold, rainy night, much like the one when Brittania and Jin had first officially met. Jin crept into Brittania’s cave (she’d moved into one of the deeper ones for the storm) with a large flagon of hot tea. He knew she wasn’t asleep.

“Brittania?” He called.

The green lump was suspiciously still.

“Look, I know you’re not asleep. The cold gives you pains. So I brought you this, to warm you up.” It had actually been from Shenavye, for him to keep warm, in a thermos. He’d just reheated it with a small fire.

Brittania, not asleep, grunted. Jin grinned. He walked further in and curled himself as much around her as he could reach. “Here,” he wheedled.

Brittania grunted again, not opening her eyes, and Jin pushed the tea into her claws. They greedily wrapped around the vessel, leeching its warmth. Then she tipped it all down her throat. Jin grinned.

“Uh, Brittania…”

She opened one eye. “You want something.”

“Can I sleep with you tonight?”

Brittania opened both eyes. “But you’re a big proud male... you’re not afraid of the storm are you?”

Jin stiffened. “No! I just thought, you know, extra warmth, and- whoah!” he cried. Brittania had stretched out, showing an enlarged stomach. “Did you eat a whole pig for supper?”

“No!” she spat, curling up again.

“No, I didn’t mean that, I’m sorry,” spluttered Jin. “I just… didn’t realise… Sorry… I… I can go- sorry.” He gnawed his lip and crept away.

Brittania grunted.

Jin smiled again and ran back over- his claws skittering of the stone. He wrapped himself around Brittania, his head resting on her chest, near her heartbeat. Then… he flung himself away again. “What was that!” he cried.

Brittania wouldn’t look at him… “Uh…”

“I felt your tummy move! Your stomach! It moved! I swear it did!” He squealed- this was freaking him out!

“It’s just your-”

“It was sooo not my imagination!” he said wildly. Then he realised something that made him halt. “You- you’re not pregnant, are you?”

Brittania turned her face away.

Jin tried not to feel like his heart was being torn out. “You are, aren’t you? That’s why you’ve been eating pigs, and been staying- you’ve been staying up here to avoid the...” He then realised, that pregnancy meant that Brittania was a mother to be and that meant there had to be a father to be. “The father? Is he your- do you have a mate now?”

Silence.

“Brittania? Are you gonna look at me?”

“…”

“Brittania?” asked Jin, walking around. He knelt beside her head, where she was staring at the wall, her eyes swimming. “Why didn’t you tell me? I could have… well I could have helped, I dunno how but I could have helped more.”

Brittania closed her eyes and a tear escaped.

“Brittania?” he asked, his voice so tiny and childish. He laid his head near hers and hugged her. “Who is your mate?”

Brittania jerked away. “He’s not my mate!” she spat with vehemence.

Jin blinked. “He… he didn’t- he didn’t force you, di-”

“No, he didn’t rape me!” A sob escaped Brittania’s throat.

“He’s not your mate, and he didn’t… well who is it?” asked Jin, his voice hardening.

Brittania whispered something.

“I didn’t catch that one.”

She sniffed and steeled herself. “It was Kaiba.”

The world shifted. Jin tottered. “You… you’re lying! I don’t believe you!” he squeaked.

“No,” wailed Brittania. She reached out and grabbed the string of the locket and flung it at Jin. It struck him in the chin.

“Wha- oh…” he said as he realised what it was. “He… you and he… he what? You- you and him-” he stuttered.

“It was one time,” Brittania sobbed.

Jin’s chin trembled. “Why?” he croaked. “Why’d you let him?”

“So you would hate me.”

Jin’s jaw dropped. “Me? Why? I would never hate you!”

“You should stay away from me… I’m dirty,” she said sorrowfully.

Jin tripped over his own feet and fell on Brittania. Then he hugged her as tight as he could. “No, you’re not. You’re beautiful. I love you. I’ll never, never, never leave you!”

“But you should! You will! I’ll bring you down…”

“I love you! You can only make me happy!”

“Everyone hates me.”

“I don’t care about everyone!” He left his tears on her scales. “I love you! I love you so much!”

“But I... I did… horrible things…”

Jin grasped her closer. “I love you, I don’t care. You have reasons- you always have reasons. You are… a beautiful jewel- you are beautiful. And he was wrong- he was the wrong one.” Jin stood up and wiped his eyes. “And because of that…” he stomped out.

Brittania opened her eyes. “Jin?” She saw his tail recede. “Jin!” She called and raced after him as fast as her belly would permit. “Jin where are you going?”

“I’m going to kill him.”

“You’re what?”

Jin had already dived off the ledge.

RP LOG SEVENTEEN

Seto was asleep when the first blow landed. He woke with a start and found that his locked had been pegged at him and the sharp edge and scraped skin off his forehead. He picked it up. “Wh-”

“I’ll be asking the questions!” screeched a very wet looking Jin. His hair was slicked to his head. Seto looped the locket around his neck and under his shirt, out of the rain. The cut was beading red and mixing with the rain Seto stood in, out of the safety of his bed bower. “Why did you do it?”

“Do what Jin- keep your voice down,” said Seto, standing up and wiping the blood off. “Why did you-”

“I’ll be asking the questions!” cried Jin again. “You took advantage of Brittania! Why did you do it! You monster!”

Seto blanched. “I didn’t take advantage of her,” he said carefully. “She came to me-”

“Liar!” cried Jin, lashing out at Seto. Seto parried with his left arm. “You- you forced- you’re evil!”

“I’m not evil.”

“You’re a monster!”

“I’m not a monster.”

“You are!” Jin lashed out again and feinted up before taking off and diving right at Seto. Seto collapsed under his weight and rolled Jin underneath him.

“What will you accomplish like this?”

“Your death!”

“You want me dead?”

“For Brittania’s honour,” hissed Jin.

Seto’s eyes hardened. He realised that Jin would attack him until he was too weak or incapacitated to move. He strained to reach up and pinch Jin’s neck- and find the nerve that, if blocked, would cause temporary paralysis, but Jin twisted away and whipped at him with his tail- his spikes narrowly missing Seto’s face.

“That is enough!” Said Seto, now thoroughly wet and cold, his jacket having been inside his sleeping space. “I am not going to fight you! You’re a teen!”

“I am going to fight for Brittania’s honour, now or never!” Jin dived at Seto again, who brought up his foreleg to stop a collision- and Jin collided with the buckles on the arm bands Seto wore, splitting his face. He fell back, whimpering, touching his torn scales, then he turned his furious eyes back onto his former big brother.

“Jin- you know that was not intenti-” protested Seto before Jin roared- in a deep and threateningly adult way- and charged him. Seto flipped him up and onto his back, pinning down his vicious talons and forcing a knee into Jin’s stomach. “Wake up and smell the coffee, Jin! I am not fighting you!”

Unbeknownst to either of the combatants, they had collected a ring of spectators. Heketoro and Kyo looked at each other and nodded. The stepped forward, into the rain, and pulled Seto off of the gasping Jin. Jin coughed and spat and stood up. Heketoro gasped.

“Seto- you did that to his face?”

“He did that to himself,” said Seto in a tone dipped in bile. “Let go of me!” Kyo snorted and released him. Heketoro reached out to Jin to cup his face and check the bruised and torn scales traced with dragon blood. Jin shoved him away and he sprawled into the mud. Jin glared at Seto, who had blood trailing into his left eye. “There will be a better time. And be sure, I’ll be the one chewing on your throat.” He sniffed a bit of blood up his nose and sprang into the air.

Kyo turned to Seto. “What the hell was that about?”

Seto rubbed his chin. “Something about that she-dragon, Don’t worry about it. Growing pains.”

The herd nodded- knowing the agony of growing.

Amane crept over. “Onii-Sama- you’re bleeding.”

“It’s a head wound, they bleed a lot.”

“Yeah, but-”

“Look, I’m okay- you’re all getting wet. Get inside. Go away. Let me deal with my problems,” snapped Seto. Eventually the crowd dispersed. But many a long glance wondered why a boy with such a sweet disposition would turn against the man who was once his hero. The love of a woman can do a lot of things to a man- even if he’s still a boy.

RP LOG EIGHTEEN

Jin flew at top speed to the caves and found Brittania waiting for him. Jin stuck his chin out. “Look, don’t say what you’re going to say.”

Brittania glared. “Just because I’m pregnant doesn’t mean you can become my ruler! Get inside out of the cold.”

He followed her obediently into a close chamber with a fire lit to supplement the light from the light stones embedded into the carvings on the walls. Light was a luxury; dragons can see perfectly in the dark.

“Sit down.”

Jin sat. Brittania sat next to him and inspected his face.

“I will fix this,” she said and she used a bottle of spring water to clean Jin’s face. The bruising, after the blood was wiped away, was worse than the cut, but it should heal clean. “You’re so stupid to mess your face like this.”

“If I could mimic you by even the smallest bit it’s an improvement,” said Jin boldly.

Brittania looked him in the eyes. They were so close. Jin leaned in for a kiss, his thin pupils dilating. Brittania turned her face away.

“Brittania, you don’t have to worry about him. Not with me here,” he said bitterly. “Even if you’ll not be with me, I’ll still take care of you.”

Brittania rolled her eyes. “Yeah sure.”

“I mean it!” cried Jin, upset she didn’t take him at his word. “I will never-”

“Okay okay,” said Brittania. “I didn’t mean it like that. I’m not going to have you sticking by me until we get old and you have no children because of it.”

Jin shook his head. “Brittania I would stay with you forever. Your children,” he said and he tentatively rested a claw on Brittania’s swollen belly, “can be my children.”

Brittania’s throat constricted and she sniffled. Jin wrapped his arms around her and for the first time she allowed him to enfold her into his embrace. The heat of the fire lulled them to sleep.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brittania woke up and had a feeling of being awesomely content and warm for the first time in a long time. She opened her eyes and found her reflection in Jin’s.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m watching you,” said Jin, his voice smooth and deep, not a squeak as it had been last night.

“That’s so creepy,” said Brittania, trying to detangle herself. It seemed that there was much more Jin today than there had been last night. “Jin… did you grow?”

“Yup,” he said proudly, grinning then he stopped, touching his ruined cheek. “Owch…”

Brittania sighed. “Oh well. That will heal.”

Jin nodded and sat up. “But now… I’m an adult,” he said, smiling as far as he could.

“Don’t you get any ideas,” grunted Brittania.

Jin shook his head with a chuckle. “Nope.” He laid his good cheek against her belly. “Not in front of our children.”

Brittania coughed to dislodge another lump in her throat and got up from the now chilled floor. “I’m going to wash… go get me some pork. And watermelon. And one of those hot ice-cream things.”

“Tempura?”

“Just get it! I’M STARVING!” she called from down the hallway.

“On it!” said Jin and he practically galloped out of the cave, taking off and nose-diving down to some of the outlying farms.

RP LOG NINETEEN

Jin walked tiredly into the herd grounds. His face was healed and his scales glistened but he was run off his feet caring for Brittania. He had come today to see Shenavye and Heketoro. Shenavye so he could tell her he was okay, and Heketoro to see if there was nay cure to morning sickness.

He found Shenavye in the nursery.

“What, you’re still here?” asked Jin with a laugh.

“Oh my gawsh!” cried Shenavye. “You’re all grown up into a big adult!”

“Yup,” he said proudly. “And you’re… you’ve still got the glowing sense of excitement of a child.”

Shenavye frowned. “And you look awful. What’s that she-dragon been doing to you?”

“I’ve been taking care of her,” said Jin.

“She hasn’t been taking care of you,” said Shenavye pointedly. “Oh is that why you’re here? Are you coming back home?” she asked hopefully, her wings abuzz.

“No,” said Jin, shocked. “I just came to see you.”

“Oh… ok,” said Shenavye. “Well… you’ve seen me now… you can go.”

“Are you angry with me?” asked Jin in astonishment.

“No,” snapped Shenavye, turning her back on him in a clear sulk.

“Fine,” muttered Jin. He walked away and found Heketoro with a severely underweight green pony, trying to make him eat.

“Jin!” cried Heketoro happily. “I haven’t seen you in so long! You haven’t met my son Boggart have you? Boggart, this is Jin Kyoshi.”

The underweight pony blinked at Jin Kyoshi. “Hi…”

“Hi…” said Jin with a hint of remorse. He missed talking to other ponies, but he wouldn’t give Brittania up for anything. Not even his family. “I wanted to know if you had a cure for… erm,” he leaned in a bit, “mourning sickness.”

Heketoro jerked back and his face was slack with shock. “What… you mean Brittania…?”

“Look, if you don’t have it then-”

“No I don’t have one,” said Heketoro. “Sorry. There isn’t a cure for that. Though you could get painkillers from Belladonna… Jin if Brittania is-”

“Thanks, bye!” cried Jin, jumping up in the air and flapping away, whipping up a windstorm over Heketoro and young Boggart.

Jin flew across the valley and over the seven foot high wall that surrounded the Kaiba Mansion, despite the stomach ache that increased the closer he got to the massive building. He landed on the cracked path and made his way slowly to the front door. He rapped sharply on the warped wood. It was answered by a rather unthreatening male with thick make-up who grunted at him when Jin asked for Belladonna.

He walked inside into the perpetual twilight and the pony was gone before he could get accustomed.

“Did ya say ya was looking for mum?” asked a little lad in bandages.

“Who’s your mum?’ asked Jin.

“Belladonna,” answered the foal. “I’m Mortedom. I’ll take you to Mum’s lab.” He turned and started trotting down the hall, then turned back. “Oh wait, I can’t say I helped a stranger. Who’re you?”

“I’m Jin Kyoshi,” said Jin.

“Okay then,” said Mortedom brightly and he led Jin through the horribly confusing corridors of his dusty and cobwebby home. They arrived at a dripping stone vault in the basement. “This is Mum’s lab,” said Mortedom. “I’ma go play now, bye Mr Joshi!” He trotted away.

Jin swallowed convulsively and knocked on the door.

“Enter,” snapped a voice from inside.

The lab inside, for lab it was, was bedecked with beakers and travelling glassware and decanters and fires and purple flashes of smoke. It was also completely dark.

“Who are you?” asked the same voice. “No, don’t come any closer. You’ll break something. What do you want?”

Jin shuffled his feet and cleared his throat.

“Now!”

Jin jumped. “Er yes! I’m looking for a cure for morning sickness.”

“Doesn’t exist,” said Belladonna. “Except one.”

“What is it?” asked Jin excitedly.

“Give birth,” said the voice dryly and it cackled harshly.

Jin snapped. “Alright I’ve been jerked around for half this godforsaken valley and I didn’t do it to be laughed at!”

“Well my my my,” said the voice. It was closer this time and the owner of the voice walked forward. She was a moderately pretty unicorn with silver eyes.

“Are you Belladonna?” asked Jin.

“’course,” she growled. “Anyway, what you seek doesn’t exist. But,” she said, plucking a hanging bunch from the ceiling, “give the sufferer this.”

“What is it?” asked Jin, taking the pouch. He sniffed it and drew away, gagging. “God it’s awful!”

“It’s for her to chew,” said Belladonna sharply. “There is no benefit or harm from it. It’s to give her something else to focus on.”

Jin nodded. “Okay… thankyou. A lot-”

“Now get the hell out of my lab! I’m making a combustible solution and you’re contaminating the area!”

Jin choked and backed off, falling out the door. Belladonna slammed it behind him and a huge bang was heard from inside along with a lot of coughing.

Jin raced outside and took off, making the trip in half the time it usually would and collapsed into the cave. “Brittania?” he called in a half-gasp.

“Yes?” she answered, coming out from another cell.

“I got you this,” he said, offering her the pouch.

Brittania sniffed it from his claws. “Ugh, it’s gross!”

“You chew it. It’s supposed to help.”

Brittania took it gingerly. “O…kay.” She looked up at Jin, who was about to drop. “Thankyou,” she said with a lukewarm smile.”

Jin grinned from ear to ear and fell down in a dead faint.

Brittania rolled her eyes and smelled the pouch again. “Ugh…”

RP LOG TWENTY

Brittania glanced surreptitiously from side to side, even knowing as she did that she had not been followed. She walked slowly to a crevasse in the mountain and reached deeply inside for her prize. She chuckled. If they knew what I was doing now, they'd... she cut off, paranoia breaking in as she stared around looking for someone who might have been looking at her.

Adventures to strange mountains was not usually his thing but with Duma out and Ichigo on a cleaning spree he knew he wanted to be no where near his herd right now. Ryu sighed and cautiously looked down the steep side of the cliff he was walking up deep in thought but was suddenly disrupted. He could hear someone talking. " Who’s there?" he demanded.

Brittania's eyes found a male dragon intruding on her space, but as he didn't know who she was, she thought she was safe enough to pull out her stash. A haunch of bleeding boar scraped out of the dip in the granite. "Me, who lives here." she said brusquely.

Ryu took a step closer looking from her to the boar haunch. " you LIVE here? Oh and Uh... ew. Are you gana eat that? How long has that been in there?" He said forgetting his manners. Ichigo would have had a fit.

Brittania cleared her throat. "Not long. Got it this morning. Haven't had enough time to slip away and eat it. I've had nothing but cooked meat for months and it's wearing thin," she finished with a growl. "And I'm not sharing. And why are you up in my mountains?"

" As if Id want any." he said holding his head high." I’m a vegetarian." proudly. "I’m here cause... I’m escaping cleaning duty." he said looking behind him nervously.

Brittania chuckled wetly. "Looks like we're both escaping something. I won't tell if you won't. Listen, how about you sit with me and wait for a while? I've had restricted company for a while and someone else might be just what's ordered." She licked her foreleg, picking up a trickle of blood but smearing more. "I'll need to clean up before I go back in..." she muttered to herself. "I'm called Brittania."

He grimaced at the trickling blood. " gross..." he said under his breath. " uh ok I guess. My name is Ryutaro."

Brittania snorted. "You sound just like Jin. He's having meat just because I rave about it- he was a namby pamby vego too." She looked at herself and sighed. "If you don't like the cold, step into the shadows." She picked up a toilet-roll sized tube of granite and drove it into a cleft in the rock. A geyser or water spurted out like a fire hydrant, drenching her completely. She pulled out the tube and blew water and wair out of her mouth where it ran down her face. "Cleanliness is overrated," she said, shivering.

" Yea well I’ve never touched the stuff.. and I don’t plan on it in the near future either!" Said Ryu eyeing her boar but trying not to show his intense curiosity. "Shouldn’t we stay in the light? being cold blooded and all? Wouldn’t the shadows be more cold?" he questioned being smart. He was also trying to ignore the fact that a VERY good looking WET female dragon was just feet from him. He blushed... or what could only be assumed as a blush for a dragon anyways.

"That's why the shadows," she gasped. "The water is damn cold..." She stretched out in the sun to dry. "Maybe he won't smell it on me... You should try everything once at least...

Ryu's jaw dropped and he turned his head away. " Do you know the meaning of the word modesty?" he told her trying to keep his voice steady.

"Modesty is for people who are scared of what others think of them. I couldn't care less... anymore." she said, gingerly tracing the lines on her face. "If one is not beautiful then others have no need to look at them.

Ryu cocked his head to the side. " What ever you say..." he said out of the side of his mouth. " So who’s this Jin dude anyways?" Ryu asked dryly trying to quickly change the subject.

"I think I hired him to work on my cave system when he was kicked out of home... or ran away," said Brittania. "Then he went and tried to beat someone up for my honour and came out looking like he'd had his face made up black and blue. Then he began to control my life." She shrugged. "Them's the breaks. I can't really get off the mountains myself so I send him on errands."

" Yea... wait why cant you leave the mountains?" he asked looking puzzled now.

Brittania pursed her lips. "Apparently my condition prevents it," she said in a low voice. Pretty much. Do not continue asking that strand of questions or I shall be forced to eat you. "So why... haven't I seen a strapping dragon like you around?"

Ryu caught the hint. " I’m not the adventurous type I suppose." he rolled his eyes. " That and I live with a bunch of control freaks to." instantly thinking of how Daisy would freak out if she knew where he was right now. Even though he is an ADULT now. He snorted at the thought.

Brittania laughed. "Henpecked," she muttered. "Poor dear. In the Dragon clans such a thing would not have been tolerated." She stretched and her back creaked.

He sighed and chuckled lightly. " Is it that easy to tell I wasn’t raised by other dragons?"

Brittania sat up and looked at him squarely in the eye. "I was raised by dragons. If you had been raised by dragons you'd probably have already fought Jin for me, considering the shortage of our females." She shook her head.

Ryu choked. " uh.. what?!" he blushed again and turned away. " You really need to work on that Modesty thing..." he said in a small voice. Suddenly though he could hear the buzzing of little wings. His eyes widened. " hide!!" he whispered panicked.

Brittania blinked. "What the..." she waited for the owner of the sound to appear.

Duma sped around the corner almost crashing right into Ryu. " THERE YOU ARE!" he cried. " Ichigo is looking for you he needs you t- hey.. who’s that?" he said breaking off mid sentence and nodding in Brittania’s direction.

Ryu dropped his head and sighed. "Brittania Id like you to meet Duma." He said pointing to Duma.

Brittania served Duma a sneer as she was wont to present for those not worthy of her time- aka any pony who was not a dragon. "Charmed, like as not," she said gutterally. "One of your hens?"

Ryu smiled nervously. "No but a lackey.." he said under his breath to her. " What do you want Duma?" He asked impatiently.

Duma blinked and glared at the dragons. " cute..." he said under his breath to himself. " Ichigo needs you."

Ryu sighed and rolled his eyes. " It was nice meeting you Brittania but it looks like duty calls." he said sourly nodding to her and unfolded his wings getting ready to leap from the cliff side.

" WAIT UP!" squeaked Duma hopping on Ryus back.

" No." Ryu glared.

"I am not flying all the way back down along the cliff! Just this once Ryu!" pleaded Duma.

"No." Ryu tried a death glare this time. to no avail

"PLEASE JUST THIS ONCE?!" Duma objected.

"FINE!" shouted Ryu not wanting to look like a complete idiot to Brittania though he was sure it was far to late. He nodded once more to Brittania and dove off the cliff into the sunset.

Brittania coughed and chuckled and went back into the caves where Jin was busy sweeping the dried bones out of her chamber. "Clean freak," she muttered.

"In your condition everything has to be sanitary and I- IS THAT BLOOD I SMELL????"

Brittania

Seto cracked one eye open a slit. “Glurrup?” he asked, his voice thick with sleep. Eerinna was kneeling beside his head since she was too big to sit on him anymore, her eyes red rimmed. “Wait, what’s up Eerinna?”

“Daddy I had a bad dream,” sniffled Eerinna. Seto put out his foreleg and Eerinna laid her head on it and curled in.

“What time is it?”

“Two oclock.”

Seto answered with a groan.

“Uhm,” said Eerinna hesitantly. “They sometimes say it helps to talk about a bad dream.”

“Okay Eerinna. Tell me about this dream. And quickly before I fall asleep again.” Before Eerinna could get too offended, he continued, “Your pretty voice could quiet a thunderstorm. Start talking.”

“Well,” said Eerinna, used to her father’s insensitive ways, “I dreamt that I was talking to Mumma. Cant remember what about. And then she stopped listening. And then she was walking away. And then she was too far to run after and I couldn’t catch her and then I fell through the floor and I saw all these oubliettes pass by and I knew I was going to the worst one and Mumma wouldn’t help me even though I wanted her to…” Eerinna turned her face in to hide her tears.

Seto stared right up at the stars. “Was that when you woke up?”

“Uh huh…”

“Eerinna,” he paused, not knowing what to say. Mokuba’s nightmares were so easy to deal with; sleep in my bed and we’ll get out of this orphanage/I’ll take over the company and get rid of Gozaboro/I’m not evil or going evil/I’m not going to be trapped in Ancient Egypt. This was so much more complicated.

In the silence, Eerinna spoke, “Why isn’t Mumma here?”

“Kala… she…” Seto trailed off.

Eerinna sighed. “Did you do something?”

“No!” said Seto sharply. When Eerinna started he drew her closer to him. “No I didn’t. Kala just doesn’t have the time to spend with us anymore.”

“But… even when I went to see her, my brothers and sister… they hate you… like you’re a bad person. Like you’re not their daddy too!”

“Eerinna, your sister and brothers have been talking too much to your pop. Now Pop has changed from when you were a baby. You should never worry about them. You,” he said, touching her head with his nose, “and Gamell and Kane are my children. You’re mine, not Kala’s because she’s taken my other children away from me.”

Eerinna sobbed quietly and Seto tightened his embrace. “Daddy I miss Mumma. I used to talk to her about everything.”

“You can talk to me.”

Eerinna looked up at him. “Girl things.”

“Oh. Well is there another girl you can talk to? An… older girl?”

“Maybe Muse?”

“She’d miss the train of thought, keep guessing.”

“Um, Juneaux?”

“Too busy hunting for men.”

“Kinezumi-Dono?”

Never go near that pony!

“Kay Daddy,” said Eerinna, giggling. “What about Brittania?”

“If you wanted to,” said Seto stiffly.

“She’s the strongest girl here and she’ll tell me straight. And Rock likes her. She can’t be all bad.”

“If you believe in that.”

“Aww c’mon Daddy,” wheedled Eerinna. “You’re not all that bad either.”

Seto frowned in the dark. “Okay you talk to her, but tell someone where you’re going and take someone. Someone with wings. Or a fast runner. Someone who can carry a message if she goes crazy.”

Eerinna snorted. “Daddy I’m a big girl. And Rock’s up there too. He wouldn’t hurt me.”

“Hmm,” said Seto, thinking of the bloodthirsty look in Jin Kyoshi’s eyes when he attacked. “Fine, talk to her with Jin around and come back if he’s not there or wait up there until he comes back.”

“Sure Daddy,” murmured Eerinna sleepily.

Seto smiled. His kids really were gems. He settled down to sleep again with a little puff of breath in his hair every few seconds.

RP LOG TWENTY-TWO

“You know, Onii-Sama’s been acting a bit strange,” said Mokuba pensively to Noa. They were playing a friendly gave of chess in the shade.

Noa frowned and moved his Bishop. “Yeah, I guess. He’s acting like a lovesick teenager without the lovesick. All moony and moody.”

“Isn’t that strange?”

“Yes. I thought he was over Kala.”

“He is,” said Mokuba defensively. “It’s not that.”

“When did he start acting like this, then?”

“Uh…” wondered Mokuba. “When he lost my locket.” Mokuba scowled. “Then Jin threw it at him.”

“How did Jin get it?” asked Noa with the air of one opening a delicious and sought after chocolate.

Mokuba chewed his lip. “I don’t know, actually.”

“Well however that was is probably why Seto is annoyed,” said Noa deftly.

Mokuba fixed his elder sibling with a narrowed glare. “Why can’t you refer to him politely? Onii-Sama.”

“I was born before him,” Noa said sourly.

“But he’s now older, so you should call him so,” demanded Mokuba.

Noa bit back a retort and sighed at Mokuba. “Fine.”

Mokuba nodded. “Check.”

Noa frowned, moved his knight, and smirked. “Checkmate.”

“What? Wait!” cried Mokuba. “Wait this is… absolutely checkmate…” He sighed “You win again.”

“You’re getting better.”

“Or you’re getting worse,” said Mokuba with a grin.

Noa smirked. “Then you’re getting sub-normal.”

“Then you’re getting-”

“What’s going on here?” interrupted Seto.

The two teens looked up.

“Hi, Onii-Sama,” said Mokuba brightly.

“Hi…” began Noa without enthusiasm, “Onii-sama…”

Seto looked at them both. “You’re acting strange.”

“No, that’s you!” said Mokuba sternly. “You’re acting totally weird!”

Seto frowned. “I am not.”

“Yes, you are,” said Noa. “It’s making you a bit of a drag to be around.”

“You don’t have any idea what you’re talking about,” growled Seto. “You two haven’t’ even reached puberty!”

“So it’s a girl thing?” asked Mokuba.

“Yeah- uh, no,” said Seto, frowning. “Yes and no and it’s none of your business.”

“We’re your brothers!” said Mokuba indignantly. “Of course we have business.”

Noa rolled his eyes. “Seto, people are starting to notice. If you keep acting this way, you’ll lose your leadership.”

“Maybe I shouldn’t be a leader then,” snarled Seto.

“I’d be leader, if you wouldn’t contest me, then,” said Noa with a glint in his eye.

Seto glared at Noa. “You don’t have what it takes.”

“Well you don’t either, the way you’ve been acting,” snapped Noa.

“Stop it,” said Mokuba. “Okay, Onii-Sama, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing is wrong,” said Seto.

“Seto,” said Mokuba sternly. “Don’t lie to me. There is something wrong and you’re acting like a zombie! Why are you acting like a zombie?”

“Well how should I be acting?” snapped Seto. “All carefree and happy?”

“I wouldn’t say no to that,” began Mokuba, “but I know you’re being sarcastic.”

Noa rolled his eyes. “You’re so subtle.”

“Okay, well first of all you keep shunning me,” said Mokuba shortly. “I don’t like it and I want you to stop.”

“Fine,” said Seto much more aggressively than he really felt.

“And you need to update your computer,” said Noa blandly. “I’m getting bored.”

“Fine,” repeated Seto without much enthusiasm- he kind of knew that but had been procrastinating. He had been procrastinating a lot lately.

“And would it kill you to start acting like yourself again,” asked Mokuba in a small voice. “I miss talking to you.”

Seto frowned, looking at Mokuba. His whole world had once started and ended with him. Maybe it was time to go back to his roots and begin again. “So what now?”

“Pizza!” Mokuba cried, throwing his arms in the air.

Seto actually cracked a smile.
