Essay: My Family Well, I can certainly tell you that NO English teacher has ever impacted my life, with their repetitive essay themes that we're supposed to regurgitate information back to them in. Let me pull out my dozen OTHER essays on this particular report: Ah, yes, here's a nice, safe answer. My greatest impact has not been in a single person, but in my whole loving family (cue: everyone gush "awwhh!"). First there is Father Edwards, the suicide king. My dad works as the head genius over all genius-geek-nerds in a SUPER secret agency. Along with Uncle Charles, he's busier than Flashcharge and Sir Aquifer, out saving the world just like them. Everyone thinks I tag after him like a sick puppy dog because I love him and want to be just like him. Actually, I just want to make sure that he doesn't ACTUALLY stab himself to get kidnapped or something. I don't ever want the weight of the world on my shoulders like he does. I already have enough weight as it is, doing all I can do to save him! Then there's Mother Edwards, the widow Queen. When the king falls behind and lags on himself, guess who's left to pick up the pieces? No! WRONG! The children! Because now poor Mom's trying too hard to be the savior of her part of the world. Mom's a queen for real, a real lady who would let the world perish for her family. Unable to reconcile this with Dad, she found herself in divorce, and then had the OTHER problem of fixing herself so she and we wouldn't flounder. Everybody thinks I'm a rebel and terrible son, but I'm saving her y being distant. So far, so good. Now if only she'd et rid of those crack-put villains she's insistent on dating, we'd be good. Then, finally, there's Sister Edwards, the Ace of Diamonds. You thought I was going to say I was top ace! Surprise! Joy makes me sick. she's the perfect little girl, a perfect daughter, sister, and friend with th perfectly trimmed hair and dress and everything else that girls do. It makes me want to give her a good mud bath! People that perfect have some serious problems and hidden agendas lurking somewhere. She is entirely going to come up with something someday to stop us ALL in our tracks. I just know it! Dad's impacted me by teaching super-responsibility skills. Mom's impacted me by teaching me super anti-responsibility skills. Joy's impacted me by being both the perfect partner to saving Mom and keeping me watching my back. That's all there is, there isn't anymore.

People Known Player Characters: Joy Edwards - Ah, my little sister. We should take her hair clippings, create a formula, and sell the perfection in a bottle to the public at large. Kaden/Kaegan - Mmm, not sure which is which, one of them is loads of funs. The other thinks we're an idiot. I think he should have more fun. But they're so cool! They make one super Kaegaden! Raleigh Birch - Wow. Sushi's... multilayered. He's not just a gay Senshi wannabe, he's actually pretty neat. I still think he's a sissy, but he's a manly sissy. Someone should tell him Mulan was Chinese and not Japanese though. He's a good teacher. And leader. I wish he didn't cringe when he saw me. Raleigh Birch - Gay. He sits like a priss, waves a fan around like a priss, and has a mommy complex. But he's got these really cool powers that I really like, and he's a lot of fun to watch beat Suzie up! Jasmine - She can't talk. O.o I don't remember anything else about her. N.P.C.s: Jim Edwards - Dad. Vampires are taking him over. I'm worried. :/ Later update: Vampire = work overkill Charles {information undisclosed} - Uncle Charles! Vampires are taking him over too. Or maybe he is the vampire. I dunno. Poor Uncle Charles. :/ Vampire = totally the dealer of the work overkill Thomas - FLASHCHARGE! SO COOL!!! I love Tom!! He's no vampire. <3 Susan {whoknows} - Darebone! Hah! She's... like a self-proclaimed mother or big sister. Ugh. But I do what she says. I HAVE to. She's my ticket into better things. Later Update: But... ugh..I'm getting so sick of this! It doesn't seem to matter what I do...

Evolutionary Theory, by Ace Edwards Well, I can certainly tell you this: none of science has ever said one useful thing about this so called evolution thing. I don't know why I'm facing an essay asking to explain the evolutionary process as an eleventh grader when scientists are not only thoroughly baffled by the current evolutionary step (or mutations or whatever term Dr. BigNose is giving it) but are also baffled by how we got here in the first place. There's not a thing that can be said to make evolution "theory." It's all supposition; therefore, there is even less a reason to be teaching it. In the end, I shouldn't have to write some essay based on something that really is science fiction; however, I am to write an essay on science fiction, so here I go. Don't blame me if it's crappy. Go to the ones that are presenting their daydreams as reality! Paraphrasing my textbook: "Once upon a time, long, long ago (long before once upon a time-times, even-billions of years before that), a meteorite or five hit the planet earth. This meteorite happened to have some living matter on it that thrived in this environment. One thing led to another and here we are." Aliens planted this amoeba substance on this promising planet. They'd already had one failure with the planet Mars and their boss was really breathing hard down their necks about this one, so they put ALL their good efforts into Earth. They ever-so-carefully cultivated the planet, raising up many life forms on it in hopes to find one superior species. This superior species would become that which they would later inhabit, imparting onto them their even more superior world-creation and cultivating skills. So, we successfully explain the evolveds: They're pods! Aliens have entered their brains! We are merely a science experiment for teenage alien species to play with. The end. Teacher's Note: The only alien object that's entered anyone's brains is the mind-destroying video games teenagers willingly submit themselves to.

That was when something snapped. Ace had never felt this way his father. But this did it. Jim was going on about something about responsibilities and wanting the best for Ace and looking out for his future. . .
His future.
"I don't want to be you!" Ace snapped, "I've spent all my life trying to change you back into my father, and not into some work-vampire-zombie brainwashed or sucked monster that you've been since Novara put a black hole through your head, what makes you think I would want to be like you!?! SHUTUP!"
Whatever Jim's reply was, Ace hadn't the first idea. He not only turned to storm out of the room and house, but proved he had indeed been paying attention to those years of self-defense instruction and practically knocked Jim out when he tried to grab him. Jim's was still seeing stars when Ace drove out of the driveway.
He had no idea where he was going.
He ended up at the high school Jim had erased his last year's records out of and withdrawn him from. He jumped out to wander where he could, and to let the tears subside, before going back into the car and going to her house.
But Bethie wasn't there. She was on vacation until after school started even, out on the east coast somewhere with her grandparents. As Ace drove by once, twice...three times...he cursed all the adults, all the traps, all the holds, all the expectations, and all definitions of normal and acceptable.
His father was a main agent of the biggest evolved training center in the Americas. Didn't he know that he couldn't define normal and acceptable? Yet there he was, imposing his will on him, and never once even thinking about the life Ace had had.
And now, according to all government records, Ace didn't hadn't even lived that past year.
How could he?
Just because he didn't fit their definitions didn't mean he had a life.
His dad really was a zombie, attacked by the evil vampire king, and couldn't think of anything else as being a life.
And instead of wanting to fight it, instead of wanting to save him like he always had, Ace gave up right then. This was going to be a fight for his own autonomy, and that alone.
