Snowflakes stuck in Jabril's fur and the ice cracked under his paws. He had to thank whatever strange alchemic reaction between chromosomes had given him his immunity to harsh temperatures. If it weren't for his quarter pint of dragon blood, the six-pack of Guinness clenched in his teeth would have long since frozen to his tongue.
"Sh~ignal!" Jabril banged on the entrance to her cave with one paw, his words slurring as he tried to work his jaw around the cans of beer. Importing things into the Kitsusagi worlds was such a chore that he didn't want to drop his parcel and waste it.
"Shignal, ish yuir bruthur! Ye'beta be herre! Open up!"
It had been quite a while since Jabril had the chance to go visit his sister. Between his work and taking care of Godiva he didn't have a lot of free time. But Setsu was watching over the kit, all his chemicals were resting safely on their burners, and Jabril had every intention of getting spectacularly smashed. In the absence of any manly drinking buddies, Signal would have to do.

Signal heard the sound of light knocking outside of her cave, ears perking and eyes focusing behind her spectacles at the entrance. She pushed her things aside gently, carefully arranging her books around her current test subjects carefully. The rabbits simply hopped around a little, barely caring, simply happy to be some place warm. She trotted her way to the entrance, pushing aside the makeshift door she had set up to keep out the cold and peering outside warily. "Mm? Jabbers?" she asked, ears perking up once more. "Wha' y'doin' 'ere?" She shifted out of the way so Jabril could come in, eying the cans of beer in his maw quite interestedly.

Jabril padded into the cave, pleased that he no longer had to worry about slipping and falling on the ice outside. It was a long way down those cliffs, and should he take a tumble, he knew that six cans of beer would hardly break his fall.
He let the six-pack drop to the floor and set about shaking the moisture out of his fur, where it had worked its way under his long coat.
"Beer." Jabril informed her. He looked a little manic. Signal's little brother was a male on a mission. "Beer is what m'doin' here. Ye do like beer, do ye na'? Yuir na' some kind o' hippie?"
He didn't think so. Books, rabbits, the smell of clean stone... this place seemed a little like home.

Signal used her rear end to close the entrance up again, nudging the wood back into place as she watched her brother with interest. How long had it been since she had spent time with any of them? Tch, too long.
"Please. D' I look like a hippie t'ye?" she asked, wrinkling her nose and moving in to pick up the beer now, carrying the cans further into the cave, where it was warmer, far warmer, than the wretched chill that lingered outside. "Min' th' rabbits. They ge' jumpeh."
As if to prove her point, a few of them scrambled about in their book-walled cage, staring with wide eyes and shivering with silly fear. "See? They're so strange..."

"Oh, I do'na know." Jabril trotted over to get a good look at the rabbits. "They all look intact, yeh? Fer all I know, ye ha' some kind o' rabbit rescue goin' here, real tree-hugger stoof."
He was joking, of course. One of their brood turning out a sissy bleeding-heart was less likely that the Mountain spontaneously erupting. Even the voices in Limey's head were tougher than most of the kitsu in this place. Or at least Jabril thought so.
"Ye know, I cut th'paws off o' one o' these, an' r'placed 'em, cheered 'im righ' up. 'E's a good lil' pet. Shocked th' fear right out o' 'im. I think-"
Jabril caught himself.
"Ah, I didna come t'talk shop. I came t'drink!" He let the rabbits be in favor of following after Signal. "Wha've ye been up to, Sigs?"
It wasn't like any of Everard's children to go about visiting one another. Jabril didn't think he'd seen his other two sisters since they were wee kits. So either he'd come to Signal for an important reason, or he really had snapped a little, cooped up in his underground laboratory.

"Psh, rabbit rescue? As if, Jabbers. I poke 'n' prod the things, ain't no tree-huggin' goin' on 'ere," drawled Signal, flicking at tail at Jabril and grinning broadly, before promptly sitting down as Jabril demanded that they drink, laughing delightedly.
"Aye, let's drink, Jabbers. Been up to? Aw, right nothin'. Just botherin' these buggers and keepin' to m'self. And you, Jabbers? What trouble you bin causin', eh?" she asked, flicking her ears and dragging the beers closer to her, quite thrilled at the prospect of having something to do other than bother some little bunnies. Spending time with her brother was a right good way to keep herself entertained.

Jabril snatched up one of the beers before Signal commandeered the lot of them, and worked the tab on the can open with her canines. The scientist sometimes wondered who exactly paid for all of the goods that they received from the HQ, which came through the Gaia gates. Then he remembered that he didn't care.
"Oh, yui'll na believe th'week I've had."
He took a swig of his beer, then sat back on his haunches and pulled his coat open. A vivid purple bruise was visible just underneath his pale chest fur.
"Y'see this? This s'only the half of it. I was out in the mornin', mindin' me own business, when I found me- well, I do'nae know if she's a friend, but she was half dead, she was! She doesna take care of herself! I had t'drag her back to m'lab an' operate on 'er."
It was clear that something about this state of affairs frustrated him quite a bit, with the way he used his tails to gesture.
"An' tha's only th'start! After th' surgery was done, we d'scovered one o' me expiriments had found a break in th' wall o' m'storage room. There's a whole network o'tunnels underneath m'lab, and I do'nae know where they go! We found a robot down there, some kind o' security system, made in the shape o' a dog t'scare kitsu in specific- who here could build tha'? Wha' if they try t'get into me house?"
Jabril huffed.
"The bloody robot almost killed me b'fore we took it out, yeh? An' now she's restin' up in me house, takin' care o' me expiriments while I see you, an' everythin's a bloody mood with her, I do'nae understand femmes, an' me chest hurts from gettin' banged up, but she smirks an' calls me some kind o' girly-man, an'-"
Jabril belatedly realized that he probably wasn't supposed to just show up at his sister's doorstep and rant. Even if he had brought the beer.
He took a long drink. He really, really needed to be drunker.
"... an' wha' o' ye?"
